Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the RF100-400mm lens, especially regarding its crisp image quality and lightweight design for a 100-400mm telephoto lens. Users also appreciate the accurate zoom, ease of use with quick focusing, and the great value for the price. However, some users have expressed concerns about the aperture and low light performance, as well as the lack of weather sealing.

An absolutely amazing lens for the price. Lightweight for 100-400 mm telephoto. This lens really lets you reach out and grab some of those harder to get pics when approaching wildlife usually makes them flee.

Great afordable lightweight telephoto lens. Only wish it was weather resistant. If I had a complaint it would be that a lens hood, if screwed on facing back, will block the focus ring, so it either has to face forward or be removed.

Amazing lens. I use it constantly. It is great for daytime use but once the sun sets, the quality isn’t the best (unless you want to crank up your iso). I have no problem with this one setback, as it is very affordable in comparison to similar (but more advanced) lenses. Great starting point for wildlife photography.

The 100-400 is one of my faves for day time shooting, especially outdoors. Whether it’s sports, landscape, building & street. It’s light weight easy to fit in your kit bag! Highly recommend, a beast for any kit, and at a great price.

The lens produces sharp and clear images, but it takes a little time to find focus. I’m using it with my R7 and it works well overall

This is a great lens for the price! Works great with the EOS R8 for capturing beautiful pictures of our church’s worship services from the back of our auditorium…about 75 feet away from the people on stage.

I really like this lense, it’s affordable and does great on my R10. It does struggle in low light when paired to my APS-C sensor, but that was expected. This lense does exactly what it is advertised to. No complaints!

Low price and light weight are the two big plusses. Image quality and sharpness are very good. I had been shooting with on old EF 100-400. This new RF lens is a pleasure to use and it's so much lighter than the old EF 100 to 400. If you buy one, don't forget to unlock the zoom lock switch before trying to zoom.

As an amateur photographer I enjoy taking pictures of birds and other wildlife. This lens lets me take high quality shots even though I lack the expertise of more seasoned photographers. The lens is easy to use s as bd meets my needs.

I bought this lens for my wife. Comparing to RF 100-500L, this one is much lighter and compact. I wish that it comes with a lens hood. The Canon brand lens hood is quite expensive. Other brands are much cheaper and serve the same purpose.

For the price you cant beat this lens. My only gripe is the low light performance is not great but at this price point im very happy with its performance overall.
