So far this has worked as expected. Seems high quality for sure. A bit heavier then I expected probably mainly because it take four batteries. I will say the battery life has been a lot longer then I expected. Using a flash definitely makes a difference with inside photos with my mirrorless camera.

Worked exactly as I had hoped. Makes photos much better when photographing indoors or at night. Used it to photograph an indoor event in LA. My Canon camera and flash pair up perfectly with the flash really seeming to nail the exposure nicely. Not the most expensive of the flashes but great bang for your buck

I had just purchased the Canon speedlite for our new Canon Mark III 5D. The light this speedlite projects looks amazing in our photos. I also have the 270EX for my Rebel SL1 which works very well with that camera as well!

The 430EX III-RT is a great starter Speedlite for any photographer who wants a future-proof flash that is easy enough for a novice to use and yet has enough features to create advanced flash photos with multiple Speedlites. New with the 430EX III-RT is an interactive menu that uses the tilt-wheel on the back of the Speedlite to make selections. Moving through menu options on a Canon Speedlite has never been easier. Of course, if you want to control the 430EX III-RT from the main LCD on your compatible Canon camera, you can do that too. Just look for the "Flash Control" and then the "External Speedlite Control" menu options. For the first time ever, Canon has enabled a mid-range (400-series) Speedlite with the ability to work as a master Speedlite. This means that after you learn the basics of using one Speedlite, your 430EX III-RT can be used with other Canon Speedlites to create off-camera flash. The 430EX III-RT provides radio Speedliting at a very affordable price (in comparison to the top-of-the-line 600EX-RT). It can serve as a radio master (to control up to 14 other 430EX III-RT and/or 600EX-RT Speedlites). Likewise, it can work as a radio slave or (as with earlier 400-series Speedlites) as an optical slave.

I have have 4 Canon flashes and this is my favorite. I like this better than my 600ex-rt that costs twice as much and is twice as complicated. I love the size of the 430 family and this is the best so far. As a professional event photographer I need power in a small package that's easy to use and this is the ticket. Great job Canon!

I think this flash is a really nice, high-quality piece of equipment. I am still trying to figure out all the settings, but I love that you just click it onto your EOS camera and it works! I use primarily bounce lighting for photoshoots, and it does a nice job of illuminating indoor spaces. I do, however, think you would need an additional remote flash if you are trying to light up a really big indoor space.

Bought this after giving very strong consideration to a lesser (and less expensive) off-brand flash unit. My older Canon 380EX has been around for almost 20 years. Given the durability, the extra cost is (for me, at least) well worth it. Flash fires well, and links to the camera the way I want it too. It does not swivel around but does swivel 180 degrees to the right, and almost that much to the left. I can live with that.

I presently have a Canon 430EX which I have been using for more than 6 years. It still puts out a great flash but I wanted to upgrade to a newer version and this one I chose over many that I looked at. It has all the bells and whistles and much more. It is my intent to switch back and forth from my older version to this newer one. I am very pleased with all of its features and it takes great pictures using my Canon EOS 6D Mark II.

I needed a last minute flash and best buy came through with this baby on sale. Be sure to use strong batteries because it trains batteries faster than the basic canon flash of course but it added a lot of light to the location that was lacking in light. Be sure to get some practice using it to learn the different settings prior to doing a big event with it. I was only comfortable because my sister had taught me to use hers years previously.

The interface is super easy to navigate and I like it more than my 600 at half the price. Got it even lower with some mybestbuy certs. Smaller and lighter and packs almost a much of a punch as the 600. Added the MagMods and this speedlite is a champ. I've always been particular to Canon products and this one is no different.

I owned a smaller Canon speed light and an off brand speed light before this one, and I feel so much more confident as a semi professional for events and photoshoots with this speed light. I used it at a wedding reception with very high ceilings where I wasn't able to bounce light off anywhere and simply used the white card attached to it, and photos came out great when using the Canon 5D Mark III and Canon 70-200 lens I rented. I also love that I can have my other speed lights as slaves to this one. I am still learning about off camera flash and this makes it possible to at least be able to have that option while I'm still learning.
