decade ago , , i watched on this cable tv ,, and found the story facinating at the time . so for years now i been hoping to see reruns .. but no cable anymore .. made me buy this .. but now having this and watching all ,, i barely remember scenes and then i say , yes i remember now , also realizing better the storyline .. as it has sat deep in my id ..so i enjoyed the whole like new . . and the ability to pause scenes to see and appreciate details that you just donna see in real time .. i thought there were more episodes than in this package ,, but ... i was also really disappointed this did not run for a few seasons .. BSG is my next binge watching now ..

-- this series takes the best parts of the BattleStar Galactica reboot series and combines it with social commentary on our society and spectacular writing. -- the series was cut short due to low viewing numbers (I guess) otherwise it would have overshadowed BSG!!! -- Very compelling characters, even characters you don't like you begin to invest in -- the whole religion aspect polytheism vs monotheism. STO = soldiers of the one. Adds a level of story depth rarely seen in sci-fi.

I was a very big fan of the Battlestar Galactia series, so it would be obvious that I would also like this prequel as well. Both show should never have been cancelled too early. Amazingly! I love it and watch all the episodes over & over again because they had great ideas, beautiful sets, terrific acting and just a show that really pulls you into its world that was simply Magical!

This series was made after battlestar galactica, but actually the story begins before. Unfortunately it was cut short. There should have been more leading up to battlestar. I belive, either it was not as popular as it could have been or the budget was cut short. In my opinion, it was a great show and far more dramatic than the origional series. Si-fi fans would appreciate this review if they were fond of the origional!

When this show came out, i would make sure i never missed an episode. I think this show had real potential. It put SYFY on the same level as NBC, FOX, or ABC. It's a shame they canceled this show, it was a true "diamond in the rough".

The connections to Battlestar Galactica are fairly minor, but it is still a compelling series on its own. It deals a lot of with religious issues as opposed to political or military.

One of my favorites. I really think it could've been great given time to grow beyond the one season. Great characters and ideas.

This isn't a bad Prequel. It is a bit slow on the build up. I would recommend it to fans.

I really enjoyed this series and the back stories to Battlestar Galactica.....Have always been a fan. I just wish the season wasn't divided into 1.0 and 1.5.

I was and am a fan of Battlestar Galactica and was eager to see a backstory of the Cylons and the colonies. I just wished it lasted more than one season.

A fine television show that keeps your attention. The actors, plot and scenes are exciting to watch. The quality of the DVD is high.

The whole series was a good reflection of the time it came from. Makes no sense to own the first half without the second half

Wish this had gone on longer but glad to have it on DVD.

Battlestar Galactica spin-off tells the story of how the Battlestar characters came to be.

I really enjoy this series and was disappointed that it only lasted one season. I often wonder what direction it would have taken.

Good wrap up , to an underrated series. A must see.
