I'm glad Disney remastered these Captain America movies in 4K right before the release of Avengers: Endgame. The 4K remastering was done right as well. The only thing that was overlooked was including Dolby Vision. However, the digital version includes DV. This is my favorite movie of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe and it is the movie that really made Captain America as popular and "cool" as he is today thanks to the directors The Russo Brothers and their modern superhero thriller. The Steelbook is the 3rd in the thematic vintage-looking themed Captain America Steelbooks with poster art on the front and a shield motif on the back. Together, all 3 Steelbooks looks great together. I hope they do thematic Steelbook sets for the other Avengers.

In the second stand-alone Captain America adventure, Steve Rogers learns that the world has changed dramatically, SHIELD has been flipped by HYDRA and he becomes unsure of what he is really fighting for. During the struggle, Steve learns that the mythical assassin, The Winter Soldier; tasked with destroying Captain America and anyone who may be a threat to HYDRA is actually his longtime friend, Bucky Barnes! With the help of some old friends (Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Black Widow) and a couple new ones (Sharon Carter, Falcon) "Cap" once again saves the world, stops the Winter Soldier and sets off to find and help his childhood pal. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is a solid action film and a terrific addition to the Marvel saga. It was the first MCU movie to be directed by the Russo Brothers and their characteristic passion and style shows. Performances by the key players were all outstanding, making me truly believe the confusion and pain of the twisted events. Robert Redford is always masterful. I also found it really cool that the story crossed over with the TV series, Marvel's Agents of SHIELD. The 1080p HD Bluray offers a clean and colorful image, accompanied by a haunting soundtrack that chilled me to the Bone. If you like behind the scenes extras, you'll be more than satisfied. It's amazing how they blend CGI with practical effects these days.

I'm not the biggest MCU fan as a whole, but Winter Soldier, which takes the 1970's flick THREE DAYS OF THE CONDOR and puts a superhero sheen on it, is one of the absolute best films they've done. From themes down to the various beats in the story. Plus Robert Redford! This release is pretty fantastic - the 4K HDR is a big upgrade on the bluray, the Atmos mix is solid but you'll have to turn it up some more than your normal levels (like all Disney releases) and the steelbook is some pretty rad artwork.

I was on the fence about this. I was NOT a huge fan of the comic book storyline that inspired this but this is one of those adaptations that I think transcends the original comic and that's an extremely rare thing! This plays less like your typical run-of-the-mill superhero movie and more like a spy-thriller film. The action almost never lets up but it still feels like Captain America with Steve Rogers questioning his role and place in the modern world and wondering (RIGHTLY, it turns out) if SHIELD is going too far to maintain the peace. He discovers a major conspiracy from high up within SHIELD and it's up to him, Black Widow, Nick Fury, and the newcomer Falcon to take down SHIELD for everyone's good. The subtitle character is someone most people never expected to return from the first movie BUT he's remained an important subplot and active participant in the Marvel movies including the next Captain America movie, Civil War. That said, the MCU was never this good again and this is arguably the best Captain America has ever been in media outside of comic books...

Just when you think it couldn’t get better then the first. By this time, captain had become more versed into his abilities. His awareness of being a different in a new era and how he’s adapting. How to trust those around him. And how to cope that he’s alone, amongst a time period where he doesn’t belong. The relationships built in this movie are as brilliantly portrayed as the story itself was written in its entirety. This film has it all. And dare I say maybe the best in the captain trilogy. Simply amazing.

Quite enjoyed the story as well. There were a few twists; some unexpected, some expected. And the reveal of the unexpected twists in the final third were epic. The story is not just about Captain America and the Winter Soldier, there are darker forces at play and causes the Captain to ask dangerous questions. This movie is very entertaining, the story is decent, the ending is awesome and satisfying and I would recommend watching this. Makes for a decent political thriller as well.

For some reason, these MCU re-release steelbooks are hit or miss for me, but something about this one is really appealing. It looks and feels great. Of course, the movie itself is amazing, and there are people more qualified than me to write about the quality of the 4k upgrade — my TV is honestly not big enough to tell much difference between this and the Blu-ray. But if you're going to get any of these MCU re-releases in steelbook form, I think this is a good choice.

This is the Marvel Film that really brings out the espionage and darker tone that we have not seen before. A bit of mystery, leaving you wondering who can you trust? Leave it to Cap to choose the right friends and allies that make you realize how and why people respect him and are loyal to him. Plenty of amazing fight sequences and action, with enough bullets and explosions that bring you a middle fight scene so awesome, you never mind seeing this film again and again!

The Captain America Series are the most fun to watch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The stories, the action, the inclusion of the other Marvel Characters, and oh boy the plot twists. I remember watching this movie and leaving thinking how every changes from here. This even had me thinking about the Mavel TV series Agents Of Shield because the outcome was so huge. If you can afford it upgrade to 4k and own this movie. Also BB does a great job with the steelbook.

Captain America along with Iron Man and Thor were my favorite Marvel comics characters. This is the second solo Captain America movie and takes place after the events in the Avengers movie. This film is different from the other Marvel character movies as the emphasis is less on the superhero aspect of Captain America and more on how he analyzes his new environment in a world that has changed while he was in suspended animation for 70 years.

CA:TWS is a spectacular movie in and of itself, but in the grand scheme of the MCU it's probably the most important movie simply because it showed everyone what the Russo brothers could do, leading to Civil War, Infinity War, and ultimately Endgame. All-around, it's a great superhero movie, and an even better political thriller (and this coming from someone who hates political thrillers). Another must-watch movie for comic fans!

“The Winter Soldier” is more of a spy thriller that just so happens to be a superhero film. While it is the second “Captain America” film, it is the film where Chris Evans truly got to embody the character. Supported by an amazing ensemble that includes Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford, this movie is great in its own right and a brilliant addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

Captain America the Winter Soldier is still one of the top MCU movies of all time! This is the movie that launched the Russo brothers to where they are now, they practically direct all the big marvel movies because of this one's success. But this one is still their shining star by far. My absolute favorite MCU film. And who wouldn't want a collectible steelbook for this gem of a film??? and its in 4K???? SOLD SOLD SOLD.

One of my all time favorites. If you like action and your a audiophile and love the sound affects, this movie will work your speakers.

This was probably my second favorite movie behind Civil War. You didn't expect to see Steve Rogers old buddy show back up, especially as a villain. Liked seeing Black Widow and Captain America's chemistry in this movie. Also the introduction of Falcon was an awesome touch! It would have been interesting to see how things would have turned out with the hellacarriers targeting system.

Anything that can be said about how pretty much all aspects of this movie work perfectly has undoubtedly been said before. The Winter Soldier is one of the darkest and most revered movies in the MCU and rightfully so. It also has helped to make the Captain America trilogy the greatest of those in the MCU, which to this day would not be the same if not for the work of Anthony and Joe Russo.

This movie still in my top 3 of all time when it comes to MCU movies took me a while to grab this one on 4k but glad I did

Captain America The Winter Soldier as a movie took me the second viewing and beyond to truly appreciate. It is, in my opinion, the most complex Marvel movie to date and well worth the viewing. Thankfully the 4K comes through with great video and also brings up the audio with the Dolby Atmos soundtrack. The Best Buy steelbook edition is a welcome addition to the collection.

Glad to see Disney/Marvel is starting to re-release some of their more recent movies into 4K, especially action packed ones like the Captain America series. Hope to see them start doing this with other series in the Marvel Universe. To me, this was worth upgrading, I can see the color/texture differences between this and the old BR version I had.

This movie is, like every other MCU movie, amazing. You see a side of Captain America that you’ve never seen before. The dark tones of this particular film are also “never before seen”, but considering the time-line of when Cap because Cap... as in who (and what) he was fighting... the dark tones are to be expected. All in all, this is a great film.
