Not the best Marvel ever. Pretty darn good. Definitely the best in the CA series...and worth adding to your collection.

First off this movie is much better then the first Captain movie IMO. The story seems a lot more developed and Cpt has a lot more personality. Also a great supporting cast. If you are a fan of Agents of SHIELD this ties in to the show (or rather the show ties in nicely to the movie). My only complaint about the movie, and the same complaint can be said about the comic, is Cpts powers can be a bit all over the place. In one fight against a normal person Cpt is struggling a little bit and then latter in the movie jumps out a window and lands on his shield and is just fine. So either he holds back when he doesn't need to go all crazy or the writers just aren't really sure what his power level really is.

It was said that only Bucky Barnes, Jason Todd, and Uncle Ben stayed dead in the comic book universe. Bucky came back as the baddest Marvel character of them all, the Winter Soldier. He is the zeitgeist of the scariest parts of the Left and the abuses of power in the 60's. The movie follows that theme in well thought manner (academy award worthy given that this a comic book movie)... with nonstop action. If you missed it in the theater, buy it now, you've waited too long already. We have always loved this movie: Seeing Captain America trying to adjust to his current lot, and then here being presented with some interesting surprises from his past, make this an outstanding contribution to the 20+ group of Marvel presentations. Personally, I love the Black Widow character, and seeing her increased role – especially with her doing so well with the variations in it here -added to my rating this as excellent. The movie also has a heart-touching cliffhanger that adds impact to the good experience.

Marvel movies never cease to amaze!! AND yet another chapter to the story to Captain America hits the mark!! After establishing himself as a displaced hero, Cap hits his stride here in another solo outing!! Filled with mystery, tons of action, it's the right formula for another hit film with the iconic Superhero we all know!! The movie manages to mix a right amount of emotional toll, and over the top action to further the storyline of one of Marvel's top heroes. To see the Cap Shield flinging around once again is just pure bliss!!

When I first purchased my ticket to see this in the theatre, I was both excited and worried. Excited to see the next chapter in the Marvel universe, worried that it would be a huge let down. For the most part I enjoyed the first Captain America movie, mostly because it was a period piece. This movie was of course not that at all, however what they did with it was simply amazing. This movie turned me into a Captain America believer. It was fun and entertaining, has a great story, excellent action and some amazing set pieces. Wonderful throwbacks to the first movie were a nice touch. All in all I loved this movie, and even better than the first! If you haven't watched it, it's a must!!

Yes, the recent SNL sketch about Marvel being unable to create a bad movie was funny, but Captain America: The Winter Soldier, was the real deal. And the fact that it's plotline drastically changed the direction of TV's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is just icing on the cake. I give the movie 5 Stars, but would take one (or two) away from Marvel overall for no longer offering Combo Packs (Blu-Ray + DVD) on their new releases. Not sure why THEY stopped doing it when its pretty much standard practice throughout the industry, but for those of us who haven't transitioned to Blu-Ray yet, its a good way to prepare for the future. I guess I'll just have to buy the Blu-Ray eventual... OH, I see.

The movie is super fun, and this is a gorgeous transfer. My only complaint is weak use of the overhead channels.

The Winter Soldier is great sequel to the First Avenger and I'm happy to add the 4k steelbook to my collection.

Cap's back, and this time he isn't taking on the Axis enemy abroad. Instead he and new partner Sam ("The Falcon") as well as old comrades Nick Fury and Black Widow find themselves contending with the enemy right in their own backyard. Tight paced, beautifully shot, and every bit as fun as a comic book movie should be, Captain america: The Winter Soldier also works as a top-notch spy thriller in the same way that The Dark Knight served as an exemplary crime drama. One of the best Marvel has produced to date. The addition of Robert Redford only serves to add to the 70's cloak and dagger vibe. Fantastic movie in which everyone is given the chance to shine and then does so!

Yep, I said it. "Avengers" is still king of the MCU, but on sheer storytelling, "Winter Soldier" can't be beat. This is what a "comic book movie" should be: fun, exciting, non-stop, and with touches of drama and themes that resonate. It's got a real world feel, even with the impossible characters, and the Trust No One tension gives this hero-in-blue-tights a very real "Three Days of the Condor" type of grittiness that has not previously been meshed with the MCU -- and under the direction of the Russo Bros. works brilliantly. If you haven't seen this yet, you'll love it. If you have seen it, then know that it is better the next time around.

This is an awesome sequel and to have the steelbook edition is more awesome but most awesome is Best Buy. I ordered this item a day or two after it launched and it got back ordered right away. It took a while to see if they would have it back in stock and I appreciate how Best Buy would update me promptly regarding my order and just when my chance of getting a copy was getting slimmer & slimmer, Best Buy sent me another email informing me that my order has been fulfilled and that it has shipped! I was so happy I almost cried LOL. Thank you Best Buy for your amazing customer service. I look forward to do business w/ you again and again and again and again and again!

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is one of Marvel's best films ever. The Russo Bros have brought CA into the 21st Century in an action-packed, thought-provoking, and emotional movie. Chris Evans continues to impress as Steve Rogers/Captain America while Scarlett Johansson's Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow provides a nice contrast in personalities and motivations. Anthony Mackie is a great addition as Sam Wilson/Falcon while Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier is a menacing foe for the heroes. You can also never go wrong when they have someone like Robert Redford playing a non-stereotypical villain.

I cop to being in the dark about the minutiae of the Marvel Universe. Outside of Spider-Man, which I read as a kid, everything I know about superheroes I've learned from their movies. My problem with many of them is that they only preach to the choir, operating under the assumption that everyone in the audience knows all the hymns. It's a lot easier—and lazier—for a screenwriter to simply do a roll call of characters and events while letting fans fill in all the blanks. Sometimes the onscreen information is so sparse that the studio should pay you for doing all the work. Plus, the slavish devotion to lore sometimes comes at the expense of making a good movie.

A lot better than I anticipated. Introduces a new hero into the MCU to continue the events after Endgame.

Easily one of -if not the-best marvel movie to date, Avengers included. Captain America had a mature feel the whole time, feeling more like a Bourne movie in action and tone. The fighting was fantastic and often brutal. Warning:not a kid friendly comic movie! People are shot, murdered, and intense scenes are frequent. If your child likes the character from the cartoons, know that this movie is not made for their demographic. Plot was interesting and highly impacted the Marvel movie universe. Even if you're not a comic/superhero fan, any action movie fan will absolutely enjoy this movie. Do not miss or even rent, you will want to watch this again, buy it!!

Follows the first one nicely. A great continuation in the Marvel franchise, and definite;y worth checking out!

While it won't be remembered as the best super-hero film of 2014 - that place is reserved for Guardians of the Galaxy - this film however is clearly number two. A well thought and developed plot, alongside profound themes that reflect our modern societies regard for security at the cost of freedom, as well as solid acting performances by all cast members both villains and heroes alike, make this film a standout this year and joins the ranks of great super-hero films from this generation alongside Guardians of the Galaxy, The Dark Knight trilogy, Avengers, and the first Iron Man films. This is one movie you should not pass up, a must watch - at least once.

Yes, we already know how good the Marvel movies are. We could watch them for the plots and wonderful effects, but when I'm watching a Captain America movie, let's face it. I'm watching for Chris Evans' abs. But who knew there would be a second set even better in this film? The Winter Soldier (keeping spoilers out on who that is, in case you're watching it the first time) has abs that just don't quit. He's yummylicious, and looks bloody fantastic in high def. Yes, there are pretty girls, but now our side gets some hot men wearing barely anything. About time, too! Now, to get these two hunks shirtless in the same scene ... Maybe in the third Cap movie?

So first off if you haven't see the Captain America: First Avenger already you need to, before watching this one. This does build on the prior. You can watch it with out the other, but watching them in order of release will help you under that sections of this movie better. I love the introduction of the Falcon as Cap's sidekick, If feel the character was well developed. There is both a lot of action scenes, as well as a very good story. The underlying nature of Cap comes out. Do the right thing. What is best of the people. The is a true American hero. These as the other Captain America movies are a must see.
