WOW!! Another great movie for Tom Hanks. This movie based on true events had me on the edge the whole time. It's intense, sad and scary. I really felt that Tom Hanks gave another great performance to bring accross the true impact of the events that took place on that transport vessel.

The story is something that is known due to the news coverage of the event from the actual moments it took place. Seeing it on the screen was great and the actors and direction made the story a nail biter. Loved the movie and thought at first it would just be mediocre and it was utterly awesome.

This is a great movie and the bonus features are pretty good as well, but it's honestly one of those movies you'll only watch once in a while. If you find it cheap enough, its always better to buy it rather than rent it, but I wouldn't pay THAT much more to own it.

Tam Hanks did an amazing job playing the caption . The story was suspenseful, I particularity liked the scene were Tom Hanks and his crew were shooting the water canyons to try to keep the pirates from boarding his ship. I really appreciated that the film was based on a true live event.

Even though the Somali pirates hijack Tom Hanks ship, Hanks is still the captain when it comes to acting performances. Besides Joe vs. the Volcano, I have not seen 1 Tom Hanks movie that disappointed me. The surprise in this movie is of the Nigerian actor (forgot his name). For this being his first movie in the US he does a pretty good job next to the powerhouse that is Tom Hanks. I hope he gets some more opportunities to showcase his talents.

Love the movie and got it for a great price through Best Buy. Movie provides great insight into what the Seals went through to rescue Captain Phillips. Gives a great appreciation for all of our service members and how well trained they are. Great movie that I'll watch over and over.

Well I decided to wait until this move came out on dvd to watch it because it just seemed like it would be with the investment and boy ess I right! ! Movie kept me and my family at the edge of my seat most of the entire movie..Great suspense/action thriller and great acting to back it up..

Great movie, glad that I bought it. I would watch it again and again. The actors who played the Somali pirates are very believable. It is almost like you are watching it happen. The movie makes me want to read a book about the situation or google the story to find out how real the movie was in relationship to how it actually happened. Even though you know that it didn't happen exactly like it is portrayed in the movie, it is very believable.

This movie is a great re-creation of an actual event. The blu-ray is perfect and makes the movie come alive. Even though I know what's going to happen, I would watch it over again using it to entertain friends. I haven't looked at the extras but I can just imagine they're good as well.

The lead pirate stole the show. The movie provided a compelling depiction of the capture of a huge tanker with just four pirates, and their quickly closing window during which the vastly superior firepower of the "conventional forces" overwhelmed their bravado. Really enjoyed it.

Even though there has been some controversy from the real crew since this film was released, the story is basically true and accurate. Tom Hanks as always gives a fantastic performance as the ship's captain. The African actors were extremely believable in their roles as Somali pirates.

Because this was based on a true incident and you knew how iy ended the filming and acting made you forget this and sit on edge of seat. Tom Hanks did an excellent job as Captain Phillips as well as the other actors. I do not buy many movies but this is one zi will watch over and over.

Thrilling Ocean movie with very real effects currently happening around the world, sadly. Excellent Acting by Tom Hanks of course!!

Very good movie about the true occurrence of Cpt Phillips ordeal with the Somalian pirates. Very close to the true incident, excellent filming on the ship and life boat. Gives the audience the feel of what it must be like in todays world of merchant shipping and the perils they face.

The realism of this movie is fantastic. The ships and their Cargo are what we see on the Ocean today. Although Tom Hanks is without question a phenomenal actor, he is at his best in this movie. Due to what is taking place on the high Seas today, this is believable.

I did not see this movie in the theater, thought it would be just another Tom Hanks vehicle with a superficial treatment. I was amazed though at the depth of story, the well written screen play and the depth of character that Hanks displayed. This is an Excellent movie!

A well acted Hollywood recreation of an actual event about the heroics of some everyday people on the high seas. This is not some CG super hero mega-action fictional movie but the real thing brought to the screen in a well acted performance, especially Tom Hanks portrayal of Captain Phillips. I am glad that I bought this movie and would recommend it to anyone who likes a well filmed real life drama, or just likes Tom Hanks.

Tom Hanks turns in yet another all-star performance as Captain Phillips. You can truly understand the terror felt by these individuals when a group of gun-toting "fisherman" storm the bridge and threaten to kill everyone. The performances by all of the actors helps you immerse into the tension of the situation and also appreciate the skill and savvy of the crew and captain in their efforts to deal with pirates.

Great movie about Captain Phillips starring Tom Hanks. What can I say, but anything with Tom Hanks is a "winner". Great acting and script. Definitely recommend to everyone.

Tom Hanks in another excellent Hollywood movie of a cargo ship being hijacked by Somalian pirates off the cost of Africa. It's an intriguing story of the proverty and what the poor samolian pirates resort to after being ravaged by drug lords and ditactors. The bluray quality is stop on. The poor artwork on the inside of the Steelbook leaves more to be desired though. Overall, great movie and great collectible Steelbook case.
