The story is well known, so it's not like they had to write the script from scratch. But, they stayed pretty true to the real events and I didn't see anything that would have been far fetched from what I know of the events and maritime and military procedures and capabilities.

My wife and I enjoyed Captain Phillips very much. Mainly because my wife deals with Shipping Captains around the world. It was a captivating story. Tom Hanks made a great Captain Phillips. The lead terrorist in the story was very real. We both enjoyed the movie.

As a steelbook collector it is great for best buy to stay competitive in the steelbook market and to offer great selections of limited addition items. The pricing is very competitive and items always arrive with promptness. More steelbook selections would be nice though

Being highjacked on the high seas is certainly not my idea of how to have a fun experience. In fact, the prospect of that occurring on the high seas as well as unpredictable weather are two reasons why I won't be roaming the oceans blue any time soon. The movie of course is pure Hollywood and probably bears only a faint resemblance to reality (this is a "true" story after all) but I enjoyed this movie experience.

This is a very gritty and serious film that Paul Greengrass excels on. Tom Hanks is so good in this movie and it’s shocking he never got a nomination for his performance. So good in this.

I followed the news coverage of Captain Phillips so when this finally came out in DVD I knew it was going to be a great plot. Tim Hanks plays Captain Phillips character so well. It kept me interested the whole time. Finally a movie my husband and I can watch together.

Tom Hanks payed his roll very well. The actor who played the terrorist leader of the group who got on the ship was excellent as well. I think Hanks portrayal was realistic but I understand that There have been some changes in the true fa cts of the actual incident.

Great re-telling of the real life story that most of us followed in the news. The acting is fantastic and the blu-ray picture is superb. Got this one at a good price and worth every penny. Oh, did I mention, the sound is great too. This is definitely a blind buy.

The movie is so amazing the actors were beyond great the camera crew did a perfect job and the director thought of everything. I love they used a real ship and it is the same type and company that was actually taken over. This movie is excellent and a must watch!

This true story was turned into an amazing film. The performances by everyone were incredible, and you really get a feel for everything the captain and his crew went through. And you geniunely feel bad for the "bad guys" in the movie. Well worth a buy!

Tom Hanks delivers in "Captain Phillips"--that final scene nailed his performance. The story and camerawork keeps you at full suspense in a very realistic manner. Disregarding whatever conflicts with the "way it really happened," this is a great movie to own.

Story line is based on a true story, and though viewers know the eventual outcome the movie is still exciting. Makes you think about what you would do if you were confronted by a terrorist situation. Even though not armed their are ways to resist and make yourself safer in a dangerous situation. The movie also makes one proud and thankful for the those who train and sacrifice to keep us free and safe.

I think this is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. I like the fact that it is based on a true story and from what I have heard and read about the movie, there was no make believe Hollywood junk, but stayed to the truth of the events. GO NAVY!

Captain Philips certainly deserved the Oscar nomination it received. It's a well made film with powerful themes running through. Sony doesn't not disappoint in terms of picture and audio presentation, although the bonus features could've gone more in depth.

Although this movie chronicles a real life event with a known outcome, the story is well told and holds your attention. Tom Hanks does his usual good job as Captain Phillips. The supporting cast is excellent, especially the Somali pirates. Great movie!

Absolutely fantastic movie! I had my eyes glued to the T.V. screen every second. It will have you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next after every scene. Really interesting movie for a true story. Great action, good suspense, good movie!

We bought this as a gift to my husband's dad. He had not seen it and we thought he would enjoy it. He's retired from the Navy and enjoys movies and books based on true stories. This movie is well done and Tom Hanks is superb as Capt Phillips.

I had no idea i was going to like this film so much, but I loved it. If you really like history, this film is for you because it was pretty well made. Despite the liberties Hollywood took with it, it still a very solid film that was based on a true story.

Seems like I keep going into recent Tom Hanks movies expecting them to be good, but boring. This was non stop and relentless. Even though I knew the outcome going into this, I was still on the edge of my seat throughout the movie.

Captain Phillips is worth watching. Once again Tom Hanks brings the audience to the scene of a real life adventure. I felt like I was on the boat with him. The movie kept me on the edge of my seat until the end. Captain Phillips was an enjoyable film.
