Captain Toad isn't the hardest game, by any stretch. This is NOT a Mario-style platformer but rather a game of exploration and puzzle-solving that's easy enough for kids but offers enough challenge to satisfy adults. The emphasis is on finding chests and solving its many puzzles. The 3D, rotatable aesthetic is really nice to look at and aids in solving puzzles, locating chests, etc.

I had previously purchased and played this game the first time around on the Wii U. I loved this game then, and I still love it now. The controls take a little getting used to since they changed a few things from the Wii U version, but overall the game is still a ton of fun to play! I play with my wife and young son, and we have a blast working our way through the puzzles again.

If you’ve played this on Wii U, then you may not want to spend money on the same game again with just a little content added. If you really love the game or get it on a good discount it’s still worth it to me. If you’ve never played it, then I highly recommend it. It’s not too hard for younger kids but still has a lot of extra things for more experienced players.

This is yet another awesome game by Nintendo for fully family fun time. This game is suitable for kids to adults with cute, themed puzzle locations reminisce of different Nintendo games. This game is good for some casual fun with your partner or little ones in the family. The only draw back is the short overall game-play and not much difficulty.

This is the perfect game for when only have an 30 minutes to play something. Its a fun little puzzler that is challenging enough but not brutally challenging and it had a fun co-op mode

I'd originally played this on Wii U. The levels are fun to play through, and there is a great variety of stages to work through, so it was an easy enough decision to get this again. No one is forcing a person to re-buy a port so I don't really see why some people get so upset when they do so. Perhaps a 3rd book would have been a welcome addition to add into this port but there is enough variety and number of stages that lack of new content shouldn't be much of a deal breaker, perhaps we can hold out hope that they will offer DLC in form of a 3rd book or make a sequel in future, for now we can enjoy the Mario Odyssey themed level additions. its about 40% less than the cost of most other titles on Switch. This game was never offered as a full priced title even back when it was on Wii U and for the cost of the game I'd say you get a decent amount of content included for what you are spending on the game. I'd recommend playing this game either with a pro-controller or handheld, since controlling the camera with the second joy-con can be awkward given its placement, and the amount of camera adjusting you'll do in this game. Using the gyroscope sensor to manipulate the puzzle aspects of each level was an easy enough work around since we no longer have a touch pad in docked mode.

Awesome puzzle game for switch. Easy to jump in and play a few levels when you have some spare time. The game is simple yet provides challenges as you progress for those trying to 100% the game. Two players is even enjoyable and the way to play if you play in docked mode. Great price for a great game.

Very cute, family fun. It is very casual and allows 2player Co-op. You can have fun on this game with just about anyone! Somewhat short but has DLC. You will maybe spend 6-10Hours on this game.

The original stages along with the free DLCs ones provides a good few days of off and on playtime. Then you just replay stages to find all hidden items and beat a course time. Pricing could be better, but its Nintendo

This game has some well designed puzzles. Each puzzle is structured like that of a diorama, and it is up to you to figure out how to navigate the level and reach the star. There are 3 gems you can collect in each level that require additional puzzle solving in order to get. In addition to that, there is one challenge you have to complete and one "Pixel Toad" you must find in each level. Overall, there is a lot of stuff to do in each replay of the level. One thing I should mention is that the levels can feel easy most of the time once you figure out how to solve them. This does not make the levels any less enjoyable. The visuals are excellent. They are very cartoony, yet they are very sharp and clean. Overall, this game is beautiful. The soundtrack in this is also great. Overall, the $40 is worth it. While I am not complete with the game, there is easily over 50 levels in this game. I cannot wait to finish them all.
