With the cast, Rooney Mara, Sarah Paulson, Cate Blanchett, this can't go wrong. Well, it did. Sorry, this movie was just SO slow it didn't linger on the mind as it should, it just crawled. Excellent performances, but the story didn't meet them.

I usually enjoy The leading ladies efforts in her other movies, but even she could not save this one.
Half-baked plot, acting was mailed in.

Carol is a visually stunning film. If you have ever seen a Todd Haynes film, you will know that his films are always beautifully shot. Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara give exceptional performances and this film is a must see for serious movie lovers.

I don't know why, I did not find this as compelling as expected. It may be because I wasn't keen on Cate Blanchett's character, so that shouldn't be a fault of the film, but hard for me to separate. It's hard to pass up a movie starring both Cate Blanchett AND Rooney Mara!
