The saving grace of this movie is Cloe Grace. She continues to steal the show out from everyone else on screen. I liked this every bit as much as the original but like the original, it didn't blow me away. The fantastic performance from its lead actress makes this worth watching again and again.

Bought this for Grandson, watched it, and it was okay. There was nothing wrong with it, just watched the original so many times it seemed like a different movie completely for the most part. The younger ones (teenagers) here liked it a lot, newer technology and more features than the old one.

While this movie stuck true to the original, I was hoping for a more original ending. We've seen it done before where the house collapses in On Carrie. I was hoping that she would leave with Chris and start over. Somewhere where no on knew her. That is my only gripe about the movie.

I did not see the original version with Sissy Spacek, but found this one to be entertaining and well acted. I cannot offer a review comparing it to the book, so I just have to take the movie for what it is and decide whether I like it or not...which I did.

As my summary suggests, if you're into horror movies at home (who isn't?) then you have to add this to your line up. Are there scarier movies out there? Sure, but this one was enough to scare the socks off my teenage daughters!

I loved the original so wasn't sure I would like a remake, most of them are disappointing. This was very well done and kept true to the original story overall but made more current. I wish the ending wasn't changed but otherwise very well done.

The third adaptation of King's debut novel (including the better off forgotten 2002 TV movie) stars Chloe Moretz as the eponymous telekinetic teen; and Julianne Moore as her bible-thumping mother. While the film is perfectly acceptable, it suffers from two big problems. Number one, while Moretz turns in a reasonable performance, she is totally miscast as Carrie White, who is supposed to be a complete outside. But more important, there seems to be no compelling reason for this particular remake, which follows most of the beats of Brian De Palma's 1976 film. Making a movie purely to re-make just isn't a good enough reason to waste all that time, talent and money.

Very good retelling of the classic Carrie. Enough was added into the story to make it seem fresh and take it to new places yet keep the basics of what we all loved from the original. It is a tweaked retelling that gives enough new and old to satisfy both watchers that have seen & not seen the original. Chloe Grace Moretz was GREAT in the movie. You really feel for her and you get conflicted along with her as the movie goes. Julianne Moore was also great in her character. Must watch, IMO.

As far as remakes go, this one isn't bad. I like the fact that Carrie in this version is a little more sinister (like in the novel) and not so doe-eyed and clueless as in the original. Though, still, you can't beat Sissy Spacek.

I have seen all the Carrie films and this one is my favorite. Chloe Grace Moretz was a great choice to play Carrie, because she is such a great, young talented actress. If you like the other Carrie movies, you have to see this one!

A lot of people are split on this remake. Some feel it follows the original too closely and doesn't different itself enough. Id disagree, there is really a push of technology in the film that keep it current and new, though you do have to wonder if in 15 year some of the things in this movie will seem dated already. This version of Carrie stayed true to its roots and Id say the cast is nothing but strong and in some cases picture perfect for the characters they are playing. Real emotional depth is felt throughout and you can forgive the fantastical powers element due to the emotional strength of the story and performances. Great showing.

For a remake it sticks to the story line, Chloë Grace Moretz made this movie. She has grown up since she started as hit girl in her previous movie and really has a knack for horror movies. I would recommend to buy this movie.

It's Carrie Y'all!!! Although it's true that many re-makes are not up to the original, the leads brought their own magic to the roles while still keeping the intensity and commitment to character set forth by the original gals. The SPFX were well done and the supporting cast held their own. If you are a horror fan you must add this to your collection. If you aren't a horror aficionado...(insert elitist cough here ;)...you will still enjoy this and be glad you got it.

I did not expect a re-make of Carrie to be comparable to the original movie. The actors were able to make the audience see and feel the internal and external struggles of Carrie and her mother. They were amazing.

Never saw in theater's but heard great things! Glad I purchased.. julianne moore is amazing as always. Chloe was a great choice. Very surprised to see the guy from the fault in our stars and divergent in it.

Carrie doesn't play! Great adaptation to the original film. I don't always fancy a remake, but this film was actually pretty good! Nice way to update an old story.

I personally enjoyed this movie, despite not being a horror fan. The acting is superb: Chloe Grace Moretz is a talented young and upcoming actress!

I was expecting this to be a bad remake movie as most are, but this movie is good. Not great, but just good. I would recommend it, it's good to see how it's been updated for this present time.

The movie over all was well acted especially Julianne Moore. She played the crazy mother perfectly. The movie didn't quite have the scare factor that the original but is still pretty good.

I'm a huge fan of horror movies and the only problem I've been having lately is that horror movies aren't scary, Carrie is another example of that. The story was good in this movie
