Doesn't add much thickness to the phone protects the corners well

Other than providing some backside scuff protection,I cannot recommend this case. The fit on the front side along the edges/bezel is uneven,so,you cannot place the phone face-down w/o the screen touching the table surface/etc...... Very little/no protection at all on the top & bottom bezel. The design is OK,but,the quality/fit/ renders this case virtually useless. Take a pass & get something else.

It's the perfect case for the perfect phone. Its not too big and not too small just right to protect it...

This HTC case will only protect the back of your phone. It doesn't have any lip whatsoever (the case is flush with the screen on the front of the phone). In other words, if you put the phone face down on a surface, the screen will touch the surface. This means if you drop your phone, there will be nothing protecting the front. In addition, the case leaves about a 2-inch gap on the top and bottom, leaving the IR blaster/power button area, and the charger/headphone jack area of the phone unprotected as well. Also, keep in mind that this case is translucent (not transparent), so the nice brushed metal finish on the back of your phone will now appear to be a bit white-ish in color. This case doesn't provide much of a grip either; in fact, I found it to be more slippery than the phone by itself. If you're looking for very light protection for the back of your phone to protect it when you're placing it on a table, countertop, etc., then this is the case for you. The fit and camera cutouts are perfect, and the case hardly adds any extra weight to the phone. The included screen protector is nice as well. However, if you want more protection against drops, etc., you might want to get a more sturdy case. I'm waiting for my new Case-Mate Naked Tough Case to come in, which should provide much better protection than this HTC case.

This is a first-party case from HTC, with the Product Name on the box listed as HTC HC C942 Hard Shell. It is translucent, as opposed to transparent, so on my Amber Gold M8 the color is definitely muted. It has HTC branding located directly over where HTC is on the back of the phone. The overall feel is good; exact match to the M8's curves with no seams that can be felt. It isn't slippery, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it soft touch. It also includes a screen protector, although I am not currently using it. It's nice to have a real first-party offering of this type of case and priced reasonably.
