Good case, expected a bit more protection for the price

I picked up the Dragon print CASETiFY Compact Case for my iPhone 17 Pro, and it’s been better than I expected for something that leans more on the stylish side. The design looks sharp in person, the artwork is crisp, and the semi-matte finish keeps it from picking up fingerprints. It has that smooth-but-grippy feel where it doesn’t slide around, but it also doesn’t feel rubbery or cheap. In the hand, it’s lightweight but still feels solid. The edges have a slight texture that makes the phone easier to hold, especially since the 17 Pro itself is slippery. It’s slim enough that it doesn’t bulk up the phone, but it still feels like it can take a hit. Protection-wise, it’s definitely more capable than its slim profile suggests. I’ve had a couple of drops — one from desk height and another closer to four feet — and the phone came out fine. The raised camera ring does its job when I set the phone down, and the front lip gives just enough clearance to keep the screen safe on flat surfaces. MagSafe works great on this case. The alignment is clean, the magnets catch quickly, and accessories stick without sliding around. Wireless charging works with no issue, and I don’t have to readjust it every time I set it down. It also has the little strap holes on the side if you’re into lanyards or charms. Overall, this case hits a really nice balance. It looks good, feels good, and actually protects the phone without turning it into a bulky tank. If you want something with personality that still takes daily use seriously, the Dragon Compact Case is a solid pick.

When this case arrived from UPS I made the mistake of opening it while my 23 year old daughter was in the room. Our family had recently upgraded all of our phones to the 17 Pro and we had all been shopping the week before for new cases. My wife and daughter went with the clear cases, one from Apple and one from Otter-box and while the other cases are functional after a week with them, both wanted a case with a bit more character. As soon as my daughter eyed the flowers on the back she ripped the box from my hand, cracked it open, and claimed the case for her own. She’s using the Orange phone and she is in love with the flower pattern on this case. After a few hours I managed to convince her to let me at least touch her phone so I could form my own opinions beyond the floral pattern. She relented but only for a few minutes so this review is mostly first impressions. All the openings in the case align with the phone and the case provides more grip than the Apple clear case. The camera plateau is protected by the raised case which is something she needs as she’s always finding ways to drop the phone. In fact she dropped the phone twice while she was bouncing around the room in excitement gushing about how cool this new case is. The phone survived hitting our laminate floor without issue so I guess that means this thing works great.

The phone case fits my iPhone 17 Pro well. It was a little hard to get on but once it’s on, its fits snugly. The front of case seems very protective. I’ve dropped it from a table and my phone was fully protected. (The phone landed on its face.) The opening on the back for the camera lens is raised so the camera lens does not touch the table when placed on the back. however, if you are the type to add lens protectors to each of the camera lenses, the they will touch the table when you put your phone down. The grip and feel of the case is nice. It feels comfortable and secure to hold. It’s lightweight. The case is compatible with MagSafe chargers, the magnets are strong, securely holding my phone on vertical chargers and car mounts. I had no issues charging with this case on my phone, unlike some other MagSafe cases I’ve had in the past. The side holes on the right side of the case is a nice feature to have. I like being able to attach a phone strap to the case. It can also be used to attach phone charms. Overall this is a nice phone case, I like the dragon design on the back, but I wish I saw more of the phone itself through the case.

In the looks department this Casetify Spring Blossom case wins out. It is aesthetically a really nice design with a black front and edging that blends well with the iPhone screen for ease of viewing. The Spring Flower design on the translucent case back is really pretty and colorful. I like it a lot and it goes great with my orange iPhone. The design of the case is sleek with a slim profile so no worries about it being bulky or not light. MagSafe compatibility is nice for wireless charging and use of magnetic accessories. The case button covers are responsive and work well with the phone controls. Keep in mind that this case offers drop protection up to four feet so if you tend to need a higher level of drop protection this may not be the case for you. It does feature a raised bevel for screen safety and a reinforced camera ring, but I would have liked to see a split camera ring to offer another ring edge closer to the right most camera. Bonus points to Casetify for excellent product packaging that is very environmentally friendly and an attractive design. A great example more companies should follow. They also note that they've been recycling phone cases since 2021.

My wife doesn’t mind it but she doesn’t use the magnet, which sucks.

2 years ago I got the opportunity to try my first CASETiFY case, and honestly, it’s hard to go wrong with them for a case that will literally last you the 2 years or longer that you decide to keep your phone. The quality of these cases is immediately felt. Their tough, solid, and even the plastic seems to be drop proof because I’ve had a couple of drops in pavement and not really seeing any damage taken in the corners of the case. Personally, my favorite part about this case is that the design on the back serves as extra grip which I always appreciate because even the regular iPhone 17 Pro is a bit difficult to hold securely with one hand and so having some support that helps the phone stay put is nice. The actual design of the case is up to personal taste, but I personally like this one and it looks beautiful with the Cosmic Orange. Also, the MagSafe is strong that it works flawlessly with the car holder I have in my car. This was the part that worried me the most, but I am happy to report that it’s strong and it works with other attachments. No problem charging either so perfect. It also looks like these have a life-time warranty so that makes me feel good just in case over time the case starts to lose its color or fall apart for no reason, which I doubt since my other one held on pretty good for the 2 years before I traded my phone.
