It's a case. But it's slippery. You really have to hold firmly to just keep it from sliding down your fingers. I like the corner bumpers, but dislike the slipperiness and the words on the back around the lens.

I ordered the excellent condition and the thing i received was so dirty and oily inside and outside the case
