My daughter is taking piano lessons, so we got this keyboard for her to practice at home. It works well for this purpose. I also installed the software with piano tutorials it comes with and it works well when connected via the USB midi interface. The keys lighting up are really helpful, especially when you load up a midi file of a song you like from the internet and can see the keys you need to press to duplicate.
