Great Digital Piano for Beginners to Advanced!

Overall, I don't have any negative comments aside from a very nit picking design flaw in that they PCB located beneath the keys is vulnerable to spills, dust, etc. which can be very hard to clean. Simple solution, use a cover, problem solved. So - on to the awesome! This unit came to me by happy accident. I had originally set my sights on a "similar" portable digital piano from Guitar Center, and on a whim I drove to town (foothill resident here) and missed my destination by a matter of minutes - which sent me on my way to Best Buy to see what they had to offer. Ultimately, I spent more than I'd originally planned to, but don't regret a single cent as this workstation is so much more than I was expecting and will not only suit my current novice needs, but is forward compatible with MIDI and multi-tracking style recording banks for complete composition and integration with your PC/Mac and production software. That being said, I love that it's very simple to use and defaults right to a Grand Piano (I'm sure you could adjust the defaults if you wanted) right on power up. You can immediately start to play out of the box, or in the office/man-cave or wherever you've setup your workstation. Mine is in my home office and connected to my PC which I use the USB MIDI features to integrate with Synthesia (a great learning resource/MIDI playback tool) to learn nearly any song I'd like. I mostly plan by ear - but as MIDI files are so readily (and legally) available for free all over the Internet, it's great to have them playback through the Casio's speakers and map out on the PC screen. Now, back to the workstation's built-in standalone features. You can record "tracks" as I call them to the multiple storage banks via internal storage, and also save/import files from the SD card interface. It also has a Mic input, pedal input, line out, headphone, USB/MIDI, a line-in (iirc) and likely a few I've forgotten about. Basically, it does all that and some - would be great for karaoke (if that's your thing), excellent for learning, and universally feature rich for composing your own music with any possible combination of instruments to choose from. Doubling as a MIDI controller, the "instruments" are endless. It is also very touch responsive and has a very realistic feel in regards to the resistance of the keys. To sum it up, I am very pleased with my happy accident and would even pay full MSRP for this unit as it suits all my current and foreseeable future needs as an amateur musician. A great product, and the local Best Buy crew was helpful in answering my questions regarding this purchase.

My middle school self taught piano player has quadrupled his skills in only a few short months with this keyboard. He has created the most amazing renditions of classical music using the rhythm and tone editor. It's a better instrument than the one in the band at school. I can't rave enough about it - even more so once all the features are utilized. And I get the bonus of sitting back and listening!

I needed a small keyboard and didn't have a lot of money to spend. This one serves my needs as a portable/compact keyboard. 76 keys is just enough to get by playing most types of music. The keyboard works on 110v adapter or 12v vehicle adapter or on-board batteries. It is truly portable, but still has large enough keys for my big fingers. Thank you Casio for creating such a great and affordable instrument!

I'm starting to learn how to play and this keyboard has certainly furthered my interest. It's stable, has plenty of instrument options, and is easy to learn on. I just wish it was cheaper xp
