I'm a seasoned astronomer and I wanted a more capable set of binoculars with improved light gathering capabilities. I purchased these to more easily and portably track Neowise C/2020 F3. I couldn't be much happier with these, especially for all it comes with for the price at the time I purchased them -- Solar filters + a small tripod being included are a real bonus.
Have easily been able to track C/2020 F3 since getting these and good for casual observations of DSOs and Messiers like M31, M42, M51, etc. Also good for observing Jupiter and planets in general -- you won't see the Great Red Spot or cloud bands with these but you can easily see the 4 Galilean moons. I have large telescopes but the convenience of these for such great portability means I use these for all my casual observing and can save the effort of dragging out the big scopes for when I'm doing more serious observations. Our own moon, of course, looks fantastic in these on clear nights.
If you're a beginner astronomer I very much recommend starting with a good pair of binoculars first. They are great for learning the sky, where to find things, and they are so portable and cost effective while you decide if you're serious about getting into it. Even having multiple full telescopes I could use I find myself frequently choosing binoculars because of their wide field of view and convenience.
