tom hanks never fails is so good wiiiiilson is all u need to say good movie

I'm a Brad Pitt fan so I knew I'd like this movie. Keeps your suspense!

I knew I liked this movie as I had seen it when released at the theatre. I was amazed at the images that felt like they were in my room not on a TV! So the movie seemed new to me and in fact there may have been scenes added or I just didn't recall them after many previous viewings because the characters felt like they were so real I could touch them. I guess that makes a difference! It was a wonderful experience and found this in the bargain bin for 5 dollars! I can't wait to start my collection of Bly-Rays now!

Tom Hanks does a superb in his portrayal as Chuck Noland, a FedEx troubleshooter who finds himself stranded on a deserted island in South Pacific. Despite being alone onscreen for an overwhelming majority of the film, the plot focuses on his will to survive on the island for four years and his various attempts to get off the island.

From the very beginning, we see Hanks as Chuck Noland, a driven, single minded dedicated FedEx employee, inspiring and engaging the Russians as they learn about the need for timeliness. His transformation into someone who stops and smells the roses comes at the price of the one he loves. It was heartbreaking yet enlightening to experience, and Hanks brings considerable acting chops to the forefront as Zemeckis wrings every nuance out of his face. A great ovie with great characters and great skills.

I like this movie for many reasons. First is Tom Hanks. The second is that of a interesting back story of FedEX and finally the biggest part is the story of Hank's character surviving on a desert isle and how he copes and manages to survive in complete isolation except sea and sky. He is rescued and goes back home where he has new challenges to reintegrate into his former life; which has moved on without him. A great escape movie to watch on a stormy night at home.

I missed the movie on the big screen, but I enjoyed watching it on the Blu Ray disc. The story, visuals, sound, and acting are all superb. Tom Hanks is outstanding. The Blu Ray is an excellent disc in terms of both audio and video. It really tests your home theater system. The sale price at Best Buy was really good. I highly recommend the movie and the Blu Ray disc. Get it and enjoy the movie.

Not the usual tale of a Robinson Crusoe. The human spirit plays the large role in the survival of Tom Hanks. Fascinating portrayal of a man without hope, without human companionship. The only help he has is his realization that his survival is solely dependent on himself. We take for granted our humanity. This movie is about one man's realization that the human spirit is what is at the very heart of our existence, the very heart of our survival. It is the source of our endurance...never give up hope as long as we believe in ourselves and that we possess that which makes us human....our inner spirit.

So this is one of those movies where there is just a one man cast really and he is fighting to survival. First off i have to say that you should NOT watch the trailer for this movie it just gives the whole movie away! I also have to say that the movie can be slow and i dont like that there is a point in the movie where we see Hanks character do something and then all of a sudden so much time goes by that you just cant feel that youve missed to much. The movie is good though dont get me wrong i enjoy this movie and this movie just makes me think that we all need to get trapped on an island by ourselves to make us realize how great our lives are.

One of my top Tom Hanks movies! The physical transformation that he went through for this role is unbelievable. He had you believing and feeling the close friendship he created with his friend Wilson the volleyball. I can watch this movie over and over again and get that same feeling every time.

Somehow I missed this when it first came out and always caught only parts of it on TV over the years. It seemed like I kept turning it on at the same place in the film, but that's probably just because so much of the movie is in the same island setting. I finally broke down and bought the blu-ray at a very attractive price point and I have to say it was more than worth it. Even though there are plenty of opportunities to see this, I think it is worth owning a copy. It's very good, and the blu-ray is definitely the way to go out of all the currently available options.

Just watched this again for the first time in years (its 20 years old already), and it sure does hold up. A stellar acting job by Hanks, before, during, and after being stranded alone in the middle of the Pacific. The movie looks great on blu ray, too. Well worth the low price

This movie has it all! Tom Hanks takes us on an emotional roller coaster. I thought this was the best acting I had ever seen until I saw him again in "Captain Phillips"! This movie is quite long but I never wanted it to end. I loved how the ending left you guessing, but hopeful. I highly recommend this movie for couples, families, adventure seekers, anyone!!

For the two of you left in the world that haven't seen this movie yet, do yourself a favor and watch it. Tom Hanks is at his best in this movie, playing a plane crash survivor on an uninhabited island. Hope, courage and survival and love lost. Even the presence of Helen Hunt doesn't detract from a great movie experience. One for the whole family.

This movie points out the fact that people need to be together. That loneliness can drive a person to the point of killing themselves. The heartbreak of finding your mate with someone else after you return but the hope of a new life in the future.

We had almost forgotten about this movie that we had seen at the theater when it first come out several years ago. Something made us think of it and decided it should be in our collection. It's a wonderful movie and the Blu-ray is a delight. "Two Thumbs Up!" as the old expression goes. Get it and you won't be disappointed.
