The acting from the cast is great, particularly an episode dominated by Sissy Spacek. It is mostly well written. It ties into many of Steohen King"s novels via iconic locations and Alan Pangborn and relations to other famous characters. There are a few things that didn't make sense. Is the episode about one character real or a lie, and if a lie, why? I did find the twist at the end disappointing. It is a short season, so watching the whole thing is worth it, even if only for understanding the context for Sissy Spacek's showcase episode. That was fantastic.

Castle Rock is very well-done and well-acted. Spacek, Levy, and Lynskey are terrific. There's even another Skarsgard and he's ok. It's psychological horror, like most King stories are, even though this isn't an original King, it's set in King's "universe". This kind of tricks the audience who think they're watching a King story, but it's interesting enough to hold your attention.

I watched this on hulu, and was hoping for a commercial free blu ray and was very excited to get it!!...The show is very good and kept me intrigued. The picture quality is awesome and so is the sound. The set itself is decent, it comes in a little slip box, with a single size case and two discs inside...Definitely worth picking this one up!!

This is a very quiet and thoughtful show filled with references to King's other works. From little touches like using the expression "to correct" someone and choosing Sissy Spacek to play the mom, any fan should enjoy the nods to previous titles. Bill Skarsgard gives an excellent performance as the mysterious fellow being held captive under Shawshank Prison. Terry O'Quinn is awesome, as always and performaces are solid all around. Looks great on bluray too...a fine addition to my King collection!

This show surprised me. It was engaging and delightfully strange without ever being truly scary. If you’re looking for a quirky show based on some of Stephen King’s world-building weirdness, give this a go. It has one of the most heart-wrenching and beautifully tragic episodes from the perspective of someone with Alzheimers disease, one that truly moved me. Looking forward to season 2!

This series surprised me. I thought it might end up being like Lost where the start was intriguing but the end was lacking. Castle Rock stayed true thorough out, answering the mysteries by the end of the season. I look forward to seeing what the second season story line will be. I like the idea that this will be an anthology series with different stories each season.

Excellent cast, excellent writing. An original story set in the fictional world of Castle Rock, the literary backdrop of several of Stephen King's stories. There are many clever Easter eggs for avid King fans to spot, and the series itself holds its own against the titan of horror's immersive imagination. A great, binge-worthy treat.

I purchased this and it shipped quickly. it came in slightly damaged, but not a enough to warrant an exchange. I've seen the first few episodes and enjoyed them. Looking forward to watching the whole season. Great value as you get a digital copy as well.

When you bring JJ Abrams and Stephen King together, scary explosions are going to happen. Welcome to the world of Castle Rock! More suspenseful than scary the show allows as to see a different side of the imagination of one the world's great storytellers.

I am a big Stephen King fan and have been disappointed in some other TV/movie versions of his work, but this series is very well done. I like how references are made to earlier King stories and is tied together nicely. Can't wait for season 2!

Based on the work of Stephen King, Castle Rock takes place in the fictional locale of Castle Rock, where strange things continue to happen. Although the series can be watched and judged on its own merits, there's no shortage of Easter eggs for long-time King fans. Definitely worth a look.

For those of us without Hulu, this blu ray set is a love letter to Stephen King stories. This is an original mystery/thriller with supernatural elements (an a lot of King Easter eggs) with a solid cast and great direction.

This was a great first season from JJ Abrams and Stephen King. I loved it and am looking forward to the Second season. The cast was great. It will be interesting to see who is in next season's cast. Lots of chills and good King storytelling.

Castle Rock is an excellent slow burn mystery rooted in the Stephen King universe! The horror effectively relies on atmosphere, rather than in your face scares, across multiple story lines. Highly Recommended!

Too bad there is only one season of this show, but it was worth it. I have to talk about the sale price rather than give away the plot details. less than $10 for a Blu ray series? Are you kidding me? Sign me up.

I loved this show. Pacing is slow at first, but it turns out for good reason once it unfolds. I only wish this were also a book so I could find out what happens without waiting for season 2. I would absolutely recommend.

"Castle Rock" is an interesting anthology series based on the works of Stephen King that can be a hit & miss at times but overall works effectively. I'd highly recommend it for fans of the horror writer.

Bottom Line ... I will purchase anything with Stephen Kings name attached to it!!! Fun little 1st season.. with tons of inside King facts . Really cool to be reminded of the SK universe!!! ❤️
