This is a great game. It's lots of fun, family friendly and easy to learn. Considered by many to be the gateway game to more advanced strategic board games and euro games.
Age:
Recommended for ages 10 and up. Still a lot of fun for adults. I've played with other very experienced board game players who love to play extremely complicated games and we can still come back to Catan and have a great time.
If you have a younger child who is slightly ahead of the learning curve, they may be able to play with the family. It's a parental judgement call.
Players:
Minimum 3 Maximum 4
There are expansion available that allow for additional players and game variations. Once the addiction sets in, you'll be looking for them.
Playing Time:
The box says 90-120 minutes. I think the game plays closer to 60-90 minutes, especially once everybody knows the rules.
Quality! :
This game is often copied by unsavory sellers and it shows in the bad quality, so be sure to buy from reputable sites and use caution in the marketplaces.
Overall:
A quality game for almost all ages. Much more fun and shorter than monopoly.
Perfect for family game night.
