I got this telescope for my son for Christmas. I have had the opportunity to take it out of the box and put it together and the eq mount seems nice and sturdy. As a matter of fact to anyone reading this I would spend the extra money and get the eq mount instead of the az mount. An Eq mount allows for better tracking of the planets or anything else you want to look at. I would also recommend aligning the finder scope in the daytime because it is so much easier. Also the telescope and all components on it are mostly metal. Yes there are some plastic parts, but a lot less than the equivalent Orion 90mm telescope which has a lot more plastic pieces. The only thing I wish this telescope would have come with is better eyepieces like the Plossl eyepieces we use to get back 20 years ago as standard eyepieces. Now it is the kellner eyepieces which are not as good as the Plossl eyepieces. I also had to purchase a moon filter as this telescope didn’t come with one, but was able to find one less than 10 dollars. This telescope also comes with Starry Nights which is a computer program that has been around for 20 plus year and is a good program. It does come on a disc so I’m not sure if they have a downloadable digital version on their site as I have not checked yet. Since most laptop don’t come with cd drives anymore.
