I bought this to look for variations and the secret marks of old US stamps quicker than scanning or using a magnifying glass. I was immediately blown away and even brought it to my next stamp club meeting for a demonstration. Incredible detail and very easy to use. You'll be throwing away your magnifying glass with one of these. I think I'll be purchasing the portable one with the screen right on it to take with me. Here's a pic I took with it of the 1893 2 cent Columbian broken hat variety.

Makes looking at close details on objects easier than using a standard optical microscope.

Well, this is the coolest little thing. Too bad I cannot get it to work. It is supposed to be plug and play on Windows Vista - the Software installs fine and the microscope is instantly recognized, BUT it will not connect to the software. Am sure it would work fine if it did connect. Have spent HOURS trying to get it to work and am now in Windows Vista help forums posting questions.

I bought this for my rockhounding. Great for most any use one could think of. Portable in to the field.
