The OTC for this is excellent. The MAK collects light really well, is sharp, and does not require collimation. It is relatively light and not very long making it excellent for being a grab and go. The finder is a bit crude but works as advertised. The Goto software works well and is quick and easy to lock in. On the downside, the tripod has a bad case of the shakes. This is a well known issue so it's not going to be solved by the company. I use a small jump starter to power the goto system and I lay it on the accessory tray and it helps a bit.

Fresh out of the box...and it didn't work. The telescope itself was fantastic, but the motorized controls and star locating feature didn't work...kept getting error 17 and error 16. To give them credit, the Celestron technical support tried to offer solutions, but they didn't work. Credit also tor Best Buy...I returned the online purchase at the local store, and they gave me a store credit with zero hassle. Customer service at Celestron and Best Buy were excellent...I just had the bad luck of getting a defective product.

Bought this telescope for my grandson Christmas . First came in time but had a power flaw. Disappointing Christmas ! Another was sent and the lens was broken . A month went by and we finally have one that works well. All in all -- very disappointed ! Best Buy has some work to do to get me back as a customer!

Great purchase for beginner scope/amateur astronomer. Goto works well once skyalign is up and running. Small learning curve, but once you've got it, you can get aligned in 5 minutes. Big hint: align finder laser during day outside at a DISTANT object (moon, neighbor's mailbox 200-300 yards away#. It's harder to align finder laser at night. And READ directions, both before and during first skyalign. Small aperture is good for moon, planets, resolving some binary stars, seeing fuzzy grey galaxies. If you're looking for the textbook colorful galaxies and nebula, you'll need a much larger aperture #10-12" reflector or catadioptric#. 8 aa batteries right off the bat, or purchase power adapter #sold seperately online) for AC or car 12v. You can't move scope without some power source.
