I remembered seeing this several years ago and thinking it was terrific. I was not mistaken. Even better than I remembered it. If you're looking for a good gritty action movie grab this one!

It has everything in it that you would want in a great film. War, revenge, murder, battle, and trying to out wit your enemies in order to stay alive. Last but not least, let's not forget love.

This is a completely excellent movie directed by Neil Marshall who IMO is the most underrated director in the business. Everything I have seen by him is great. It deals with the story of a platoon in the historic 9th Legion that vanished from history in about 120 AD. The movie advances the most plausible theory that they annihilated by the Picts. It is not for the squeamish, but will most certainly keep you on the edge of your seat. Michael Fassbender and Olga Kurylenko are tremendous. If you can buy it, by all means do so. Like a lot of really great movies that were not blockbusters, it is getting really hard to find.

Here, you have all the elements of a solid historical fiction thriller. First of all, you have the ancient Romans, represented here by the very talented Michael Fassbender. Additionally, there's the setting among the wild tribes of ancient Scotland, a very cool place in history that I was happy to see on film. I was on the fence after the first watch, but another viewing made me a fan.

Not much else to say. If you like sword fights then this is for you. It's a well made movie and has Fassbender before Prometheus put him on everyone's radar. Olga Kurylenko compliments the cast and is oddly good at the role. Fits perfectly too! It's a cool movie to watch with friends if action is what you're after, but don't expect anything amazing or worth coming back to.

I enjoyed this adventure, even if it was a little predictable. The usual bad barbarians versus good Romans, in some hostile country, facing almost insurmountable odds. But the story development lets you follow along without too much reliance on basic history knowledge of the viewer. Gives you an enjoyable 98 minutes.

This movie is very much like "The Eagle" and could almost be a prequel to it. If your into Roman era movies, I highly recommend this one. I actually bought one for myself and one as a gift.

A well above average story that brings the period to life. Perhaps a bit too dramatic in depicting some of the "driven" characters, but an overall satisfying effort.

Great story, fabulous scenery, exciting action. Historically correct Roman armor. I even recognized a leading actor form the series "The Affair".

Centurion is a quality movie with a great cast. Definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoyed Glatiator and any movie from that era for that matter.

Good plot. Only problem is that they left some holes in the plot that could have been interesting. I would buy it again though.

If you like action, if you liked Gladiator, you'll like this !

this actor was in a few of the X-Men movies and now i am seeing him in this, and this was a treat.

It is not the best movie I have ever seen and it is very similar to "The Eagle" with Channing Tatum. Michael Fassbender is a descent actor which makes it worth the watch. If you like Period type action movies than this one is a must see.

I watched this movie with a friend, and was a great movie for and excellent price.

Michael Fassbender could spend 2 hours staring at paint dry and the world would be entertained! Centurion is a classic roman empire era film that is an awesome addition to the collection of any fan of that time period!

kind of movie I watch but only for the bloodshed and I'm a Fassbender fan

I always start out at Best Buy when looking for movies to buy. They have a great selection and I have always been able to find the "hard to find" ones there.

I like this movie. its violent and bloody and very entertaining.
