Not bad
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely despise the fact that I'm forced to use a century link modem. However, that being said, it's not a bad modem. Decent speed, pretty reliable. Not the best I've ever had, but it's up there. Recommend for anyone with century link.

Necessary for Century Link
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My review of the router itself it that it works okay if you have Century LInk. It is definitely worth buying at Best Buy because you do not have to pay for shipping and you also earn Best Buy Member points, which makes it a win-win.

So far so good.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this router/modem because a Centurylink tech told me they would give me support in setting up the router to remote view my surveillance system, which involved port forwarding. This turned out not to be true. However I figured it out on my own with several hours of reading. I thought it was defective because none of the changes would save but before sending it back I tried using a PC instead of my MacBook. It was then easy to configure. It seems to have average power given it has no visible antenna. It seems you would need to stand the unit on its side for the built-in antenna to be vertically polarized. It handles high speeds and has never dropped its connection in the month or so I've had it. Even though I have 1.5MB/Second all my wireless devices run faster than my old G router. It is made by Actiontec who also would not help with the port forwarding. I'll end up using a booster because I live a mile from my nearest neighbor and my metal roof cuts down the range. I like to have wifi within 100 yards of the house. It has excellent security and seems state of the art but has only medium power and the Mac quirk.

Same device that CenturyLink sends for less $
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had to upgrade our DSL modem in order to obtain the higher bandwith DSL internet service from CenturyLink. CenturyLink will send out the exact same unit by default when you request the internet upgrade. This is exactly the same device and the same price as the unit sent from CenturyLink except that CenturyLink will charge a $15 fee to ship it to you. Be warned that even if you state that you do not want the modem from CenturlyLink when you place your internet service upgrade order that most likely it will be sent to you anyways and will be added to your bill and will take a couple of weeks for them to process your return. The unit was easy to configure and so far has worked well. You might need to tweak the WIFI channel based on what other radio signals are near you.

Set up was fairly easy.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Router was fairly easy to set up though in the end I still needed help from Geek Squad online support (which is worth their weight in gold!). Seems to run smoothly and consistently. Time will tell how long it lasts. Our last modem got fried in a momentary power outage so we have a surge protector now. One thing I learned is it is important to have a modem that is compatible with your internet provider for support. Our last (made by AT & T) was not compatible and they tried to charge me $30 just to help me over the phone!

Great router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this so that we would get a better signal through my house. And it works great. It was easy to set up and started working right away. It was worth every penny. And cheaper that going through century link.

Works the BEST
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.CenturyLink reccommended. Rather than renting from CenturyLink this $99 modem router was perfect. Easy to setup and works very well with CenturyLink ISP. This is the second one I've bought - 1 in MN and 1 in AZ. WORKS LIKE A CHARM !!

great speed and very easy to set up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Modem/router combined with great speed gives me easy access to my netflix, youtube etc. Also it is very easy to set up, anybody can do it. only disappointed for the size as other modems are little more tiny.

Much more stable connection
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have gone through two modems from Century Link that "they" provided. Both were horrible. We had to reset them on a weekly basis due to no Internet connection. The C1000A holds a much more stable connection. Speeds are also more consistent. Did not rate 5 starts due to only having basic configuration. Overall, this was an upgrade from the disappointing modems Century Link initially provided.

Easy to set-up.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to set-up, but had a problem during Quick Set-up and called technical support to help me to get internet connections to work. Internet connection is faster than before with older modem.

Best value for CenturyLink
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This modem/router was purchased to enhance my network that includes an Apple Time Machine. Setup was very easy and it seriously outperforms my previous PK5000 modem.

Modem works great and was easy to set up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this modem to replace a similar modem leased from DishNet. The unit works great and was easy to set up through DishNet technical support. The modem will pay for itself in just 10 months...

Exactly what I needed at a good price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We signed on as a new CenturyLink customer and didn't want to be stuck paying a monthly rental fee or buying the modem/router from them. We were able to get what we needed at Best Buy for a better price - and we were able to get reward points as an added bonus. It worked perfectly right out of the box and was easy to set up once CenturyLink got it's act together (which took a lot longer than it should have - but that's a rant for a different time). ;-)

Good Modem, Bad Century Link Service
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Century Link tech support keeps telling me that I have a bad modem so I keep replacing them. I am a slow learner I guess but I am starting to see a trend here. I now have 3 modems and they are all perfect. It is the horrible Century Link Service that is the problem. It would be impossible to give an accurate review of the modem however, since my service provider is so terrible.

Good CenturyLink Modem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Much faster then our old modem. Had trouble getting it set up with the instructions provided. Used the trial and error method. Took me 2 days to figure it out, but once I got it up and running we have been very happy with it. Only reason for the 3 stars is because of the difficulty in the set up. The prior one was a Qwest modem and it was much easier to set up.
