Id say 2 of the 3 are pretty good and one is pretty brutal.

If you don't have these 3 movies then this is a great deal!

Awesome movies for the sci-fi collector. District 9 is ground breaking, Elysium looks amazing, Chappie also looks great, but it's a big mess story wise. Love seeing Blomkamp's directorial style and can't wait to see more from him. Also, Chappie and Elysium have very crisp details thanks to being BD50 4K transfers, but to truly appreciate them you need a 4K TV with a Blu-ray setup (or the new 4K players) that up-converts to 4K levels. It won't be in true HDR because (2K) Blu-rays don't facilitate that tech. That's kind of confusing but that's where we're at until more 4K players and movies come out.

Neil Blokamp really brought a unique voice to the Sci-fi genre. This collection is an excellent presentation of his 3 films known as the South African Trilogy. There are similar themes & designs that bleed over thru all 3 films. They're presented on Blu-ray with the usual extras, crisp picture and an aggressive and immersive Sci-fi surround sound mix. The real draw of this collection is that it's 3 films for a good price, and it include a book of artwork from the 3 films. The artwork is a very interesting look at the behind the scenes process of the films. The only drawback is the packaging of the discs. They sit in a hard plastic housing with two discs overlapping. You have to carefully snap each disc out of the holding ( center holder) and set it aside to get to the next film. This could lead to scratched discs over time,

I am a big fan of Neil Blomkamp but don't own any of his movies. I got this on sale and absolutely love it! This set comes with the film District 9, Elysium, and Chappie. I actually enjoyed all of these movies and highly recommend them. The cool thing about this set is the packaging. This comes with a case/book with art and concept drawings from all of the movie, which if you're a fan of you'll love it. My only problem with this set is that the Digital HD code is for Ultraviolet and not iTunes. Overall a great set that's worth the price.

The general consensus among people I know is that they either love or hate Blomkamp's works, no in-between. I enjoy the particular flavor of his vision for his movies, but I like to think I have an open, forgiving mind when it comes to experiencing entertainment that is outside mainstream as well as your by the numbers stuff too. These movies will not be for everyone, maybe give a rental a shot before committing if you are unsure? I will say that I love when there are these movie relationships between certain actors and directors, where the directors seem to try and insert them into most of their works - Copley and Blomkamp, Del Toro and Perlman, etc. :)

Ok, I was not a District 9 fanboy. I rented Elysium on DVD not knowing what it was. After loving that movie, I bought these because you got all 3 for $24.99 after matching Amazon. The blurry treatment to Elysium and Chappie is ridiculous and worth watching on your PS3/4 on a big screen with the surround blaring. Chappie was fun and the behind the scenes were great. Lastly, the box its in is amazing with a book of behind the scenes (background story) to each film. Great for display and viewing.

While Neill Blomkamp's films can be divisive with people, you can't deny that his films are beautiful and thought provoking. Rather than your standard action film, Blomkamp's Science Fiction really delves deep into issues surrounding today, and make everything have a meaning. District 9 is his best film in my opinion, and while Elysium and Chappie get a little too much hate I still think that they're worth watching again if only for the director's ambition. In this package you not only get his three films, but a nice booklet outlining the thought process on each world in each film, and of course each disc has their extras. Worth a buy.

Here is the collection of all of his movies to date along with the special features from each. This set of his first three films, Elysium, Chappie, and District 9 and in my opinion, is the best version of each of these films. There's also a nice, 64 page book with artwork & behind the scenes info in regards to the three films AND you also get a code for a digital copy of all three. WHAT a DEAL! A definite must for his fans and sci-fi film lovers alike.

Fantastic Box set. Contains blu ray version and digitial copies for all 3 films. Movies add as separate titles to the ultraviolet library (vs 1 vudu item with 3 selections under it). Box set has a great look and some great art features as part of the box within. Comes with a writeup that explains some aspects of the films. Very worthwhile purchase. I would think that if you like 1 of these films that the other 2 are also worth watching.

The three movies in the Blomkamp bundle are most enjoyable. Had been wanting all three movies to add to my collection when I came across this bundle. Individually each movie was double what the bundle was priced; it also came with a 64-page book with more information on each movie. As a lover of films, I would recommend picking up these movies; not only for the message each movie tries to get across but also for the script and cinematography.

Director Neill Blomkamp's "District 9","Chappie" & "Elysium".Impressive,haunting & thought-provoking films. Hi-def blu-ray for "District 9" & the last two Mastered in 4-k !! Mine came with "ultra-violet Digital HD" and a 70 page booklet (attached inside) of production stills & art. A separate disc with special features for each film in a sturdy, "book-like" package. Good for many years of viewing...!! Glad I bought it..!!!

Very nicely put together, unique set. Super price point for 3 movies especially in a digibook type package. I like District 9, despite what some people say, takes a while to get going but once it does it is an edge-of-your-seat movie. Chappie is so-so in my opinion, so-so plot and acting, but not "bad". Elysium I think very good, solid movie. Think all 3 movies are under-rated by many "critics", all well worth watching.

Very cool packaging for the 3-movie set, much much nicer than the usual "3 movie combo" blu-rays, and also a fairly "unique" set. I already owned District 9 and Elysium, but still bought this because was very nice set, and excellent price point when I bought it. Could not pass it up. Can always sell the others used and save space too! Chappie is so-so movie in my opinion, but District and Elysium very solid movies.

For fans of Blomkamp's films, this is a must own. For my money, DISTRICT 9 is the best of the set (and the only one not sourced from a 4k master, sadly - though the transfer is still great), but ELYSIUM and CHAPPIE have their charms and visual delights as well. Also included is an incredible booklet on the history behind the three films, making this the definitive release of the three films together. Highly recommended!

This being a 3 pack one would have to mention the plus and negatives of each movie so here goes: District 9 is a good Sci-fi movie about an alien invasion and the protagonist's own eventual evolution into one. Chappie while put down by many critics, I believe it was an entertaining movie about a Robot with a child's mind trying to be a hero. Elysium I am still on the fence about considering the title is misleading while a lot of the plot didn't make sense. Does humanity really need to change itself to live in other planets? is this movie worth watching? No on both

Saw Chappie by pure happen chance and thought the robot animations were simply amazing. The movie itself was entertaining, too, even the the campiness added to the overall look and feel and value of the movie. Heard good thing about the other two so buying the three pack was a no brainer. Some say it might be a little preachy. I'm perfectly willing to look past it for the entertainment value.

Every since I saw DISTRICT 9, I couldn't help but be impressed by Neill Blomkamp's creativity, drive, and vision as a director. I've enjoyed all of his movies so far, and I'm hoping the short movies in his Oats Studios program will someday be expanded in fellow big-budget movies as well. Now, if we can just get HIM to direct the TRANSFORMERS movies, then we'll REALLY have something...

I recently brought this Dvd Blu ray 3-pack & I have no regards at all... The value was incredible in addition too the clarity of all 3 Blu Ray Dvds... The only other thing that can "top this" value is BestBuy's "Upgrade & Save" if/whenever they bring it back... I am totally pleased and satisfied with my purchase whereas I'm going to tell a lot of mine family, friends & business associates about it too...

So I saw this while browsing through my local store and was blown away at the value. Three great films from a visionary director in one set at a crazy price so I went for it. This deal did not disappoint. From the packaging to the presentation and quality of the movies on Blu Ray to the extras this was definitely a great addition to my collection. Kudos Best Buy for a best buy indeed.
