This grill is great for grilling on the main grill because of the amount of space available. It's also pretty good for individuals learning how to smoke meat. Ideally the offset box should be one piece, as well the main barrel, to prevent the smoke from escaping other then through the chimmney. It would also be better is the metal used was thicker so that it can remain hot for a longer period of time, and if the temperature gauge had actual degrees. Other than that, I feel that it was a great buy for the price!

This is a decent grill for the price i got it for since t was on sale. EXPECT it to come with bent parts and parts that have paint rubbed off during shipment (major disappointment). Other than that it's a decent grill for the price if you want to grill food. I bought it to do a lot of smoking which i don't think it's going to workout to well because they're a lot of small gaps where peices come together so don't think it will hold smoke in to well. The metal is thin but still for the price it looks decent. I DO like how big it is and would be great for someone that does a lot of grilling (burgers, chicken, Fajitas, etc.). You can adjust the height of the coals/fire which is a plus when your fire start getting low you don't have to put more coals on just raise the height to where the coals are closer to the grill. I plan on using some high temp caulk or find other ways to seal the small gaps so i can use it to do a lot of smoking. Once again this is a decent grill for the price that it was on sale for.

I was so excited when this smoker was delivered to me, until I opened the box. The legs were packaged along the outer edge of the box, and due to the weight of the items in the box, one of the legs was pinched in several spots, including where it was supposed to slide together with the other leg. I was able to use some tools at my shop to fix the bends/crimps so it could be assembled, but not without causing minor cosmetic damage to the paint. The rest of the assembly was easy and without issues except for having to clean a bunch of styrofoam pieces from inside the smoker box. I had no trouble with coating the inside with oil and maintaining the temperature to cure the inside as stated in the directions. A few days later I put it to the test and was pleasantly surprised after low expectations after opening the box. I have made chicken, steaks, pork loin and a whole turkey with great success! The temperature was easy to control once I replaced the sad excuse for the thermostat that came with the smoker with a better quality and more specific unit. I have not had any problems with rust or paint peeling. I bought a Brinkmann cover for it as the Charbroil ones are poor quality, and maintain it by regularly oiling it per the instructions. Overall, the smoker/grill has exceeded my expectations, but it is not perfect.

I bought this as a present for my son, who wants to start smoking meats. This seems like a good beginner smoker.

it is a very nice grill but when my husband opened it to put it together the axle for the wheels was missing out of the box.

This is not my first Char Broil grill. Probably, my last. I had to bend grill back in shape in several places. Food grill/grate are about a 1/2 in short-they slide around. All around poor craftsmanship/quality. I called Customer Service. They could only tell me that their floor model was the same. There are definitely better options. Best Buy price match is worthless also. I lost a lot of respect for Best Buy.

I got this smoker as a fathers day gift for my husband and he absolutely loved it. it works really good. the size is really great.

the metal is soo thin on this model that it will not last long

I've used this grill/smoker combo 2 times now. I've used it to smoke and to grill, and I haven't been disappointed. There is more than enough cooking space. The assemble was easy although it took about an hour. The only negative is the temperature gauge does not have a reading in degrees. If you're going to smoke, you really need to know the exact temperature in the grill. But it only cost me $10 to get a replacement. The seems to be a great smoker for beginners like me.

Even if you assemble this grill carefully, air will still escape causing you to continue putting more charcoal in it, resulting in overcooking or under-cooking your food. We will try wood and see how that works. The thermometer works okay, not great, I am thinking about replacing it. i found one at the blue hardware store for about 8 or $9. Small price to pay, I do not mind. Looks great, we get compliments on how it looks all the time, however, cooking wise, we are still working on it. At the bottom it asks would I recommend this grill to a friend, YES, only if they were familiar with this type of grill and knew how to grill.

This is a great pit for indirect cooking, smoking and grilling. Its size enables one to use wood logs or chunks with or instead of charcoal. I'm getting great results!
