I enjoyed the film, your basic coming of age story of a great surfer. I've always been a fan of big wave surfing, not a surfer by any means, just enjoy the ocean's beauty and the sport of surfing. Mavericks surf spot has always intrigued me so learning about the discovery and the skill it takes to surf that spot was pretty evident in this film. Acting was ok, nothing to blow your socks off, visuals were cool, great shots of the massive waves that can brew up at Mavericks. Overall a great watch IMO.

3 out of 4 Blu-Ray movies I bought at the same time were defective. This was one of them. The others were Django Unchained and World War Z. This review will probably be rejected by Best Buy as they were not pleasant when I tried to replace these three disks.

overall the movie was good. it has awesome surf scenes. the acting was good but some scenes took too long unfold but I still find myself watching it all the time. the storyline stayed close to the real story. I would recommend this movie to any surf lover.

Great movie with an inspirational message on how to live ones life. Grasp for the stars and push yourself to attain your goals. I have watched this movie 4 times in 5 days and could not recommend it enough.

Even though the movie got off to slow start, the overall movie was enjoyable, and worth watching multiple times. The movie shows that some people can still meet their goals in life and live it to the fullness.

Inspirational movie's are the best. When you can't saw the word's to something you can always watch a movie that is inspirational and says everything for you.

Love this movie! I like that it's based on a true story. Jay lived an incredible life - and the actors really portrayed this well. The surfing scenes were excellent, as well.

Chasing mavericks is a great movie. Gerard Butler was great and the story was very heartfelt and inspiring. If you enjoyed soul surfer you will live this movie too

This movie is very good. Love me some Gerard Butler and I love movies based on a true story. You really get invested in what is happening and you feel for the characters.
