Everyone and their mother seems to have the other brand of this gadget and loves it - I, however, am cheap and live in a tiny studio and wasn't really sure I would ever use one if I bought one, or if it would just take up valuable real estate in my kitchen. SO glad I finally got one! This thing is amazing - and has features (i.e., the bluetooth connection and app) that the more popular brand doesn't! Pros: - the app/bluetooth connection is literally one of the biggest pros of this product! Included in the app are tons of recipes, and when you select a recipe from the app, the app and the pressure cooker communicate, and guide you through the steps, and you can use the app to control the cooker! It also will send you an alert when pressure is releasing. - the pot is incredibly non-stick and super easy to clean! I'm kinda the worst at doing dishes right after cooking, and even after making mac and cheese in it and it drying, it took like 30 seconds to clean it! - more of a pro for this type of cooker, but holy wow - I cooked chicken breasts from freezer to plate in like 20 minutes! I made salsa chicken in a matter of minutes, instead of having to wait hours for the chicken to be ready to shred, like I would if I made it in a traditional crock pot! Con - literally the only con I found with this appliance is since I am short (5'3''), it is hard for me to look into the pot while cooking, but I think that's more of a me issue than an issue with the product. GET ONE! You won't regret it!

This was not at all what we expected. You need a smart phone to operate the pot. It was too much for us older individuals to “learn”. It was returned and we purchased a manual one!

Ok I’ve only used this guy once, but the chicken I made came out AMAZING. It was moist, and I just seasoned it with salt and pepper and added chicken broth. We are always on the go and work long hours so to be able to cook some dinners quick is a huge benefit. Easy to use and fast. Cool big screen! Looks nice! Con is having to download an app to use. I couldn’t figure out how to skip that. Also cleaning this up is kind of a pain. It’s bulky and for us was hard to store so we left it on the counter.

I am very impressed with this appliance. Set up was a snap. Once it synced up, it was actually enjoyable to use the app and see just how many options this cooker has. It weighs things for you and then provides step by step instructions on how to prepare a specific recipe. I used it to steam chicken and vegetables and in 15 minutes it was cooked to perfection. You can steam, sear, slow cook, keep items warm, ferment and pressure cook. It also has a sanitize feature to keep it clean and operating at top efficiency. Personally at this price point, nice to see a company not gouge consumers. This is worth probably at least 100.00 more. It even comes with accessories to further enhance your cooking experience. Don't miss out on one of these. You won't regret it!

The CHEF iQ - 6qt Pressure Cooker/Kitchen Scales is the modern pressure cooker, with it's black exterior and digital display screen. Initial setup could be intimidating for the non tech person. You have to download the app, connect to your wifi, and then connect the CHEF iQ Pressure Cooker to the app. It did need a firmware update after connecting, so that did extend the setup time. Once setup up, it was easy to use and relatively intuitive to use. The beef and vegetable soup turned out great. The beef was tender. The really neat feature is being able to control it remotely. You can start it up to either cook or warm, so that your dinner is ready when you get home! However, non-tech people, have someone set it up for you. Overall, it is a really nice high tech pressure cooker, that will save you time. If you want the latest, greatest, and high tech pressure cooker, you've come to the right product.

The smart cooker comes in somewhat bulky packaging if delivered to your home as mine was, but nothing crazy. There are no manuals or parts list included, though a user manual is available on their website if you look for it. You must be meticulous to ensure you have gathered all of the included accessories (steam rack, steam basket, spoon rest, ladle) and power cord as they were efficiently but not obviously packed in the box. This appliance is designed to be a one size fits all device in the kitchen. It can weigh what you add to it, sautes, steams, cooks under pressure, works as a slow cooker, will keep food warm, and can even be set to ferment and sterilize. The phone app gives you numerous recipes to choose from with completely guided step by step cooking instructions. The app integration allows you to choose a recipe which it then communicates to the smart cooker what you are going to cook and what steps you need to take to make the dish. and if you happen to have jumped a few steps ahead you can tell it to start at a specific step. Getting the device connected to WiFi is pretty straightforward and the app is able to easily find the device. Once your smart cooker is powered on and connected to the app, additional recipes will download in the app. the support team seems very open to user feedback as I suggested a recipe edit to add chicken and received a prompt positive response. Over the course of a week, I have made 3 different meals with this unit, 2 of them from their recipes (Greek Chicken and Rice and Beef and Barley Soup) and one that I typically make on my own (pot roast with mushroom soup and dry onion soup mix. I was very impressed with the scale feature, but disappointed that you cannot cook solely by weight. With a built in scale the device could weigh every ingredient added to calculate cook times, but this has not yet been developed with existing software and firmware; I would definitely recommend the manufacturer do so along with creating a custom recipe section in the app to accommodate this feature. My first attempt was to pressure cook my pot roast in soup gravy. I followed the app suggestion for manual beef roast and quick pressure release. I added liquid according my recipe and it should have been adequate. Alas, this is where the first problems arose and the smart cooker insisted there was not sufficient liquid and it was getting too hot ("Temperature too high, please add liquid or stir contents" error on display and in app). I did as it suggested and gave the pot a stir then re-secured the lid, only for the error to repeat. I added more liquids and even more soup, but the error perpetuated and it took about an hour of this song and dance before the smart cooker would get above 90% pressure. Once it finally got going, it was efficient, however the quick pressure release was the wrong setting for this application as I should have chosen either natural or pulse to avoid the explosion of soup gravy all over my kitchen that later ensued. The roast was tender and delicious, the mess from pressure release was mostly user error but might have also been averted if the app asked more questions in the manual mode (is this in gravy or starchy, etc). My second attempt was Greek Chicken and Rice and this went over quite well. I was able to use the smart cooker in both sauté and pressure cooker modes. The app guided me seamlessly through cooking this recipe with a visual guide of what to do as well as a timer on screen. I was prompted to tap next when time ran out or as appropriate and this triggered the smart cooker to move to the next phase. The prep and cook time was relatively accurate, but if you are not accustomed to keeping your phone in sight when cooking this will be an adjustment. The app encourages you to complete all of your prep work prior to starting in two ways, first by showing the recipe before you start and again by making the ingredient list for prep your very first prompted step in a recipe. The chicken was cooked through while still tender and moist and the rice was also perfectly cooked. My only critique would be with the seasoning itself, but that can be adjusted to personal taste. My final attempt with this smart cooker prior to writing this review was their Beef and Barley Soup. Everything started off pretty well in sauté mode to brown the meat and soften the vegetables as well as adding the other ingredients as prompted. I was even on schedule for a timely completion until it came time to start the pressure cooker mode, where things again went horribly wrong. I again saw the smart cooker reach up to 90% pressure and then it began displaying "Temperature too high, please add liquid or stir contents" error on display and in app. I assure you there was ample liquid in the pot and while it was steaming it would have been dangerous to add more liquid. **I will say that I may have added a little more liquid than the recipe called for before moving to pressure cooking, but this is also why I did not add more when it claimed to be too hot**. At this phase of cooking we were expecting dinner to be ready within 15 minutes once 100% pressure was reached. Unfortunately the "Temperature too high, please add liquid or stir contents" error continued well beyond this time with repeated removal of the lid and stirring, accompanied by adding frozen vegetables and canned vegetables on one attempt, but to no avail against this error message. Each time I re-sealed it, the smart cooker would reach between 79-90% pressure and kick back the temperature error. This sucked up a good 45 minutes of time. Once I made it past this barrage of overheating errors, I next encountered an onslaught of errors indicating the lid was not locked and sealed. I repeatedly removed the lid, checked the gasket, and set the regulator to “sealed”, along with testing the seal each time, until it finally made it above 79% pressure up to 90% but then it failed again and again causing me to keep troubleshooting it over the course of 45 minutes. After having my dinner plans delayed by an hour and a half of mishaps, I switched the smart cooker to manual slow cooker mode and let it go for 2.5 hours on high while finding something quick in my freezer to have for dinner. Four and a half hours after my target time for dinner and after we had already eaten, we had an excellent slow cooker Beef and Barley soup and had to wait for it to cool so it could be stored immediately before going to bed. **Pros** With the exception of my soup roast explosion, clean up is very simple and easy. Manufacturer states lid, gasket, nonstick insert and most other accessories are top rack dishwasher safe. I would advise against this as it is just not best practice. The nonstick coating on the main insert appears to be of good quality and easily releases any food that has come into contact with it. The onscreen display is bright and easy to read with adjustments available in the app and onscreen. It seems that if you stick to the letter of a recipe the machine will work flawlessly. Easy setup and app integration. Quiet operation. **Cons** Seems clunky to use without app and phone. Does not have physical buttons and user is dependent on rotating knob and click for selection as well as touch interface. For a seasoned cook who is less proficient with a pressure cooker, the guided cooking in the app may create frustration as many steps seem like they should be common sense. No manual override to force pressurization if the device thinks it is not sealed and locked. I think the concept behind this appliance is a good one, but I am not really sold on it being a go to asset in my kitchen.

No star of possible the flight was good but I got it home washed it put my food in it and mid way cooking it turned off . Then I was like maybe it's me. Nope. I fought all night bc of the time it was too late to switch up. Ended up trying the next day. It worked. But I don't have time. I did like the step by step interactive cookbook on the app . I might keep the app but I was highly disappointed

I didn't think a company could make a pressure cooker "better", especially when you already have used the gold standard "Instant Pot" brand. I can't say I love the idea of needing a firmware update, but it works. I love the controls, very easy to use, very easy to read. The measuring functionality is just amazing - hard to get recipes wrong. The auto venting is really nice. The app functionality works very well - ability to control temperature remotely. The only downsides are that it is 6 quarts (many brands go up to 8 quarts in size) and that the pan is non-stick versus stainless steel. Yes non-stick is definitely easier to clean, but stainless steel is much more durable and will never have any issue with peeling surface (as is the case with many non-stick pans I own). On a side, the packaging is super professional. You really feel like you are getting a professional product here. Just be careful, the package is big and it comes shipped in a box that says what it is (for all those suffering from porch pirates :-( ). I highly recommend it if you are looking for a pressure cooker that will make your cooking job easy and can afford the asking price...and don't mind a 6 quart device (the Instant Pot brand offers an 8 quart model at a cheaper price point)

I have to say I was pretty excited about this product when I first saw it. Connected appliances are becoming a pretty common thing in my household and I had avoided (up until now) the electronic pressure/multi cooker movement. The ChefIQ is gorgeous right out of the box, with a little bit of stealth style mixed with a lot of technology. Setup is app driven and very easy, with the device firmware updates and recipe adds happening via your home WiFi network. This unit does everything from pressure cook to sear to slow cook - even ferment. I wouldn’t even know where to start with all the features so I’m thankful that the app has built in recipes that take you through each step. One thing you won’t find - and the only reason i didn’t give this unit 5 stars - is an actual power button. When it’s plugged in, it’s on. If you don’t want it on, you unplug it. This seems like a very unusual omission for a smart appliance and it took me going through the user guide and support site multiple times to confirm. The good news is the unit reconnects itself to your network quickly once you do plug it back in. Overall I would say this unit is great for someone who wants an elevated user experience and doesn’t already have a competing product. I’m looking forward to seeing what great things I can use it for beyond the few basic items I’ve already made like chicken wings in the pressure cooking mode.

--------------------THE LONG AND SHORT OF IT----------------------------- It’s rare that I come across a higher-end appliance that actually feels like a bargain with all that it can do, let alone a smart device, but the Chef IQ Pressure Cooker is exactly that. It really does everything it says it can do and does it extremely well. From being a smart device which connects to your home network and can be updated with new firmware patches, to providing visually guided recipes in the app, to using a built-in scale for measurements, to offering hundreds of preset combinations for cooking, to being an all-around effective cooker; it really is exceptional in almost all regards. I try to be as objective as possible when critiquing a new product, but beyond the lack of power button (which seems an odd omission), and the black coating being a bit of a grease/fingerprint magnet, there is almost nothing bad I have to say about this device. For a bit more detail on the specifics of the cooker please read on, but the short of it is that I have no reservations recommending this device to anyone in the market for a smart cooker. It really is simply that good and impresses me more than any other smart cooking appliance I have owned to date. ------------------------------------DESIGN/BUILD---------------------------------- Relatively compact, yet spacious enough with a 6-quart capacity, the Chef IQ feels right at home with other pressure cookers of the same capacity. The black coating is very sleek looking, and compliments the screen on the front very well, but it does tend to show grease from fingerprints rather easily, like most matte black devices I have owned. It is easy to clean though, so if you are a bit of a neat freak like me, you don’t need to worry about it becoming an issue. Everything feels very sturdy with the build-quality, including the lid which has very strong latches that keep the top in place while cooking. The touch screen on the front has a relatively small screen, but not too small that I ever struggled to operate it. The single dial makes navigating the different menus and sub-menus easy, and altogether gives the cooker a very modern look. Additionally, almost every component is top-rack dishwasher safe, which makes clean-up mostly painless if you have a dishwasher to fit the components in. Finally, the pressure cooker also comes with a rice paddle, scoop, steaming basket, cooking rack and two rubber mitts. ----------------------------SET-UP/OPERATION---------------------------------- Set-up for the cooker was extremely straight forward. Included with the packaging is an instruction book that walks you through the set-up, but all that is really needed is to plug the device in, connect it with Bluetooth via the phone app, and then connect it to your home network. From there you can use the app to select from their set of guided visual recipes, set favorites, look at your cooking history, and even use the built-in calculator to estimate cook times for various ingredients, which has quickly become my favorite feature of the app! The app itself is very responsive, highly thought-out, and connected seamlessly to the smart cooker, which was a welcome relief given some of the trouble I have had with other smart devices in the past getting an app to connect properly in one try. The onscreen display is likewise very intuitive and can easily be used without the app if desired. My only real issue with the day-to-day operation of the device is that there is no power button on the device, so if you want to leave it plugged in, there is no real way to completely turn the device off. Most people, including myself, don’t leave their pressure cookers plugged in for counter-space concerns, and so it really isn’t an issue, but it does feel a bit strange having a smart device that can only be powered on and off by physically using the power cable. ----------------------------------PERFORMANCE---------------------------------- In terms of performance, the cooker does everything to the level you would expect from a device in this price range. The app-based recipes are very easy to follow and have step-by-step videos which show you how the recipe is compiled. When not using a recipe based out of the app, the smart cooker has a ton of presets, including presets for pressure cooking, slow cooking, searing/sauté, steaming, and more. In addition to the presets, you can manually set the cooking level, cooking time, release valve behavior, and everything else you would expect from a pressure cooker. I used two of the app-based recipes to make oatmeal and chicken, and both worked amazingly well! They were delicious, and all of the cooking times and portions lined up directly with what the directions said. I also used a general sausage and beans pressure cooker recipe to see how the pressure cooker performed with manual settings, and likewise, everything turned out phenomenally well. Really, in terms of performance, there was nothing to complain about. The only other thing I want to mention is the firmware updates, which lets the smart cooker improve over time with WIFI-based updates. Since this is a smart device, this is a highly welcome addition, as it means both the app and device can improve over time as the technology advances and new features are added to the smart cooker. This is really great if the longevity of the device is important to you.

There are so many functions on this cooker I have yet to explore. I have cooked frozen chicken breast in this a couple of times and each time, they come out fantastic! I compare the taste and texture to baking but the cooking time is much quicker. The scales work great, too. The instructions are easy to follow and the LCD color screen walks you through the rest. This was my first time using a pressure cooker and I am glad I tried it! My wife loves it, too, even though she has a smaller pressure cooker. I would recommend this to anyone looking for this kind of appliance.

The app puts this pressure cooker over the top. Its very well laid out and easy to use. I especially like the quick overview videos included with each recipe, visualizes the process perfectly. This thing really makes pressure cooking super easy and will walk you through each step and apply settings as needed. Build quailty is good and I dont have any fears of it failing me anytime soon. Its also convenient that you can use it as a steamer and for searing.

First off, I am by no means a chef. I know my way around the kitchen, but my skill set is fairly basic. As a night shift worker, I had considered getting a pressure cooker for quite some time. The ability to cook something frozen solid in a short amount of time appealed to me. Everyone at work raved at how awesome they are. I finally decided to give the Chef IQ a try. The machine had step by step prompts making setup a breeze. I downloaded the Chef IQ app and connected it to my wifi and paired it via Bluetooth to my phone. I like that the app displays the status of my machine (pressurizing, cooking, etc). There are many recipes in the app for all different skill levels. I decided to play it safe and just do something simple for my first time- chicken. I powered the unit up and popped 4 chicken breasts in, still frozen solid. I chose the chicken option on the lcd display. It gave me options for the weight. Since I was unsure how much they weighed, I chosethe scale option. 14 oz. Perfect. The screen then instructed me to add 4 oz of water. Easy enough. I added some oregano and thyme for some flavor. I secured the lid and made sure the pressure relief valve was closed. 15 minutes later and the pressure released. I opted for the quick release, which was pretty loud! The results made up for it, though- perfectly cooked, juicy chicken. The only disappointment that I have is that I didn't get one sooner!

I wasn't sure what to expect when I received the Chef IQ 6 quart smart cooker. After unpacking it, I downloaded the recommended chef IQ application to my smartphone and started playing around with it. This is so much better that just a pressure cooker. It is also a steamer, slow cooker, sear/saute cooker but with more control than a pan, and also is a yogurt fermenter. There are over 100 preset cooking functions built into the unit for about any cooking need you might have. The smart cooker has a touch screen display, pairs seamlessly with the Chef IQ application allowing you to use it following preset recipes with photo instructions. There is a scale integrated in the device that eliminates the need for measuring cups. Two minor complaints that Chef IQ is already considering: the app does not support horizontal orientations; just vertical. I would like to use an iPad to connect with the device so it is easier to read and follow the cooker's recipe. It would work better horizontally than the fixed vertical view it comes with. The second item is to be aware of is that all users must use the same login and password to use the smart cooker app. I set up the app using my login and password which did not make for a happy spouse. Overall, a well designed and solid build with very nice application and features. We'll be using this a lot!
