My first dehydrator. Door doesn’t open very smoothly so not sure if that is normal. It catches on each tray.

Super great and easy to use. A little bigger then I thought. I like how much space there is.

I can make such large batches of jerky. Cooks very even.

I like the square design when I make beef jerkey. The round design of other products doesn't work nearly as well.

Have only tried to use it a few times. Didn't work very well. Wouldn't recommend

I bought this on the Deal of the Day a few weeks ago and have used it a few times. I wasn't sure about making jerky since the temp only goes up to 158, but the book gives instructions to either cook your meat before dehydrating or to bake it afterwards to kill bacteria which is in accordance with the FSIS guidelines. I haven't tried that process yet, but I have done some apples and strawberries and blueberries. I like it quite a bit. This is my first dehydrator and I am already seeing a lot of value in having it. I plan to grow some fresh herbs and dry them, as well as tomatoes and peppers. I can also see where it will be nice to buy things on sale and then dehydrate them for future use. It would probably even be useful in drying flowers and seeds. I would recommend not opening the door on the unit while in the drying process... it makes it take longer to dry... sort of like a slow cooker.
