Disappointing
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Despite following the care instructions, little flecks of the non-stick coating began washing off during the first wash. It was hand washed in warm soapy(Palmolive) water, using a soft sponge. On the bright side, it appears no more of the non-stick coating has washed off since then, but I really should have gotten a protection plan. I don't really know how much more use I'm going to get out of it, as just about everything sticks to the spots where it washed off. Cleaning is not as easy as they imply. When you clean it, the small handle that you lift the bottom out with can get stuff under it, which can be time consuming to get out. It is also difficult to get completely dry, which is probably why mine is already rusting there less than a month after purchase. Additionally, I can see where the under-turned edge around most of the bottom is likely to get oil or grease under it if you cook anything that would drip. This seems especially likely near the removeable rubber grips on the bottom tray. Another possible issue I see is that the fill line is above the screws holding the basket together, and these screws are not coated with a non-stick layer. This is likely to eventually cause issues as buildup forms on them, as you can not scrub them clean without damaging the finish on the surrounding area. Be very wary of the cooking directions given in the manual, as you are likely to burn food by following them. Try to find foods that have their own air fryer cooking instructions, as those seem spot on. I'm probably not going to get another air fryer after this, as I am not sure my experience would be any better. It generally does the same thing as my convection oven, just on a smaller scale.

Excellent appliance for anybody’s kitchen
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My past experience with an air fryer left me feeling bummed, like it was just hype. Then I tried this. All I can say is WOW, it really works and works well. My first attempt was frozen tater tots. Follow directions for french fries and they turned out perfect! Weird thing is even if done in the oven they taste greasy, but not in this air fryer. They tasted like tater tots without grease. Very good. Next up I tried my daughter’s beyond burger (veggie burgers) and they also turned out awesome. Coated them with olive oil, seasoned, and set them up for 15 mins, each side, and turned out amazingly yummy (her words, not mine) No fried grease smell overpowering the house. Clean up is as easy as ha d washing the basket and the little lift that sits at the bottom of the basket. Both are non stick and a breeze to clean. Can put in top rack of dishwasher but worry about long term durability, so quick handwash and done! Safe and easy to use. I worried about my kids cooking using the stove or oven, they are college aged and sometimes forgetful and careless about hot stovetop or oven. This shuts off when you remove the basket to check the food and turns back on when re-inserted. Place hot basket on a hot plate thing and that is it. Doesn’t get super hot on outside like a toaster oven. Lots of ideas in the boom and will be trying them all. The only thing to consider is this is better for smaller portions and not big meals. You can stack food like French fries but will take longer. Can’t go wrong with this one! Glad I have this and will use it for anything I’d put in the oven and anything I’d fry on the stove.

Airmazing! Changed my cooking life.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just want to say this is my first time using an air fryer at all and I'm so glad this was my first experience into the Air Frying world. Everything is easy and delicious While maintaining the juicy and tender food that comes out perfect every time. Chefman made a great device here and I can see why there is so many people rave to this device. First off the design is like an oval-like egg with it's top shaven off, the black design is nice. it's quite large which is a showcase to anyone going past the kitchen. The upright shape I guess maintain space-saving but it didn't matter to me. There is a Temperature knob with temperatures up to 400 degrees and a Timer knob independently from each other. LED lights at the top indicate power and use. This TurboFry has a 3.5 litter basket which is about 15 cup capacity. To me this is my only regret is not going for a bigger air fryer, While it holds enough food for maybe 2 people or a small family, bigger families 4 or more would want to get a bigger air fryer. This one is perfect though if you live alone, maybe a starter to Air Frying like I am, and could be perfect for tailgates. It's so easy to use my wife loves it, over the weekend we made Tequila Chicken wings, Fried stuffed jalapenos, Herb steak, and potatoes. Everything was cooked to perfection but more so everything was JUICY! tender and just oh so good. I'm not a fryer but I was open to trying way more things with this. Especially with the handy guide, Chefmen gives us. for safety reasons, the auto-shutoff turns off the Air fryer if you pull out the basket to restart. I know the box says it uses 80% less oil which is great but the food comes out so good I truly don't miss pan-fried food just yet. This can bake, grill, or Roast almost anything and that's what makes it fun to use. I can't wait to try some fish in this thing! But wait...Do you want to know the best part of this Chefman? Cleanup. so so easy. I have never experienced a cleanup from oil from food so easy to clean. The basket and take were very easy to wipe down. Don't use a Brillo pad to clean, soap and water would clean this thing just perfectly. (It's also dishwasher safe) then get ready for your next use because you will be using this often. This is brilliant technology and I heard so many good things about air fryers but totally was one of the people who ignored them for a good while. but I'm a believer and Chefman now has a huge fan going forward. Everything I had so far was just amazing with each bite. If this is healthy eating sign me up and I want more. Now if you excuse me, I am going to go make some more Tequila wings. 5 out of 5 stars with a HIGH recommendation to any friend or family member looking to cut down their cooking and cleaning time.

Eat healthier without added oils
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first air fryer as we have been wanting to get one for a long time. This is a great little appliance for anyone wanting to eat healthier and still indulge in “fried” foods. It has a simple to use turn dial for heat setting and timer setting. That’s it. No extra buttons to familiarize yourself with for a learning curve. Pretty simple and easy to use right off the bat. It has a 15 cup capacity in it 3.7 quart basket area. Looks nice when sitting on the counter as it’s aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Has 1200W of power so it gives the appliance plenty of power to get the food cooked properly and thoroughly. And for easy clean up the basket and tray are both dishwasher safe for convenience. So far we have used this recipe book that comes with it to make chicken wings and they turned out great. Frozen, raw, chicken wings that we seasoned and sprayed with some oil. No mystery ingredients from the restaurant, so we know exactly what is in our food. They turned out great and were just to our liking. Took about 30 minutes total to get the wings how we wanted them and that was super simple to do. Set it and shake the basket half way through or rotate the wings for an even crisping. Since our first food trial, we have been using it for homemade zucchini fries, air fried ravioli, and air fried broccoli. Loving our food experiments and the fact that this is healthier than eating deep fried in oil food. PRO: Durable and sturdy Easy to use dial Medium sized basket Healthier eating CON: Wish the basket was bigger to fit more food in

Decent sized with analog timer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Air fryers are pretty awesome, providing the crispy frying capability without all of the oil and mess. However, the ones that still use a basket like this one have a slight disadvantage since items tend to float around in oil and fry on all sides. When in the air fryer, if layered, you will have to stir, flip or shake them occasionally to ensure an even fry, such as a decent amount of fries. Even though this has a large 3.7qt/3.5L, it is still recommended to keep the layering of items down for best consistency. Even the recommended sizes and cooking times are on average for 2-3 servings. Overall though, the Chefman Turbofry Air Fryer has fried everything I have thrown in it with a clean crispness and consistency. I do find this model a little dated with the simple 2 dial system that uses a basic analog timer. However, I know there are some that prefer that style. I personally like to know that the timer is exactly 18 minutes and not just roughly past the dot between 10 and 20, same goes for remaining time. But, this one is bigger, longer timer and cheaper than an older model Chefman Analog air fryer.

French Fries with almost no oil and no oily taste.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to use. I cut my potatoes into wedges, rinsed them under the tap, drained and patted dry,. Next, I poured a spoonful of olive oil in a small bowl, added the wedges, using my hands, tossed them around then lightly sated them. Dump them into the tray, pop it into the unit, set the dial for 400-degrees, 20 minutes and that's it. Out came beautiful, crispy outside moist inside with no oily taste fries. Easy to clean too. I like: * large container size * easy to set and read temperature dial * Easy to set timer * blue and red indicator lights on top * the outside of the fryer stayed cool to the touch, but heed the warning sticker on the back and don't touch * Really liked that the heater turns off when you remve the cooking tray! The only thing I would change is to have the removable tray turn to lock so shaking the basket contents doesn't end in the tray getting tilted and food gets under it. Super easy to clean. NO smelly, smoky burt oil!

Great little Air Fryer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been looking at getting an air fryer for a while now, as I've been trying to eat a bit healthier and drop some pounds. The ChefMan Air Fryer is a no-frills kitchen appliance that delivers on it's core functionality - making deliciously crispy food without the use of excess oils or fats. The air fryer itself is kind of a funky shape that looks like a futuristic coffee pot sitting on my counter. Pulling the handle though reveals it's true self and exposes the cooking basket. The basket isn't exceptionally large though - it can cook enough chicken strips for my wife and I to have dinner in one layer. It will hold enough tater tots or fries as a side for 3-4 people though if you have normal serving sizes, however those foods are layered. Layering is important - it's best to operate this device while food is in a single layer, rather than food stacked on top of one another. If you do have to stack food, give it a toss a couple of times during cooking to ensure that all parts of the food get some exposure to the heat flowing around the outside of the food. Otherwise, you'll end up with deliciously crispy spots and some that are not so delicious and crispy. The operation is very easy. Put food in the basket, twist the outer ring to the temperature you want to cook at, and turn the middle dial to the time you want to cook for - this turns the appliance on and the cooking begins. Hint: Cook for a little bit less time than you would in an oven. As you use the Air Fryer, you will learn how to adjust your cook times, likely down a bit from what the directions for your food state. While the fryer is operating, it's really quiet and does not put out a lot of heat, which I was surprised at. The top of the unit is where air is taken in and the back of the unit is where air is exhausted - so don't operate it too close to a wall. I run ours in the center of the kitchen island. Cleanup is a breeze too - the interior surface is a very nice non-stick coating. A simple once-over with the dish wand with a good dish soap gets this thing looking brand new again. Overall, this is a great appliance that would make a fine addition to anyone's cooking arsenal - from the experienced chef to those who simply want to have a fast and easy way to heat up pizza rolls. If permitted, this would make a great addition to any college dorm/apartment kitchen.

Quick and Easy Food
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.---SETUP--- The setup of the CHEFMAN Air Fryer was quick. It’s all one single unit and comes with a non-detachable cable. The cable is about 4 feet in length. Products like this one usually have short cables to prevent risk of fire. ---PROS--- This product has the following pros: Analog dial timer Analog temperature dial Cool house touching 1200 W of power Easy to clean Auth-Shut off Maximum Temperature of 400 degrees Minimum Temperature of 200 degrees ---CONS--- The products cons are: Analog dial timer Weighs 10 lbs. It’s bulky Closing pan requires double-checking ---THE LONG AND SHORT OF IT--- Ever since I bought my first air fryer, I fell in love with them. This one is my third air fryer simply because they are easy to use and faster to cook in. To start with, this air fryer’s aesthetics compliment my kitchen’s other black appliances. It is shiny but with a matte look that doesn’t reflect you or your kitchen. It will be pleasant to look at if you decide to leave this on the counter top. This is the first analog dial timer air fryer that I own. This can be a pro for people who aren’t used to digital timers or pushing buttons. My wife, for example, prefers using this air fryer now because you only have two things to turn for it to start cooking, the temperature and the timer dial. The dial timer is also a con because you can’t reduce the time to cook once you have set the timer where a digital timer would let you do that. Cooking frozen, raw chicken wings was a breeze. The package stated that in a conventional oven, it would take 60 minutes. In the air fryer, it took 20 minutes. I marinated them with some lemon-pepper seasoning while frozen and they came out delicious. I did have an issue closing the pan tank. It closed and cooked, but I noticed that it had to give it an extra small nudge for it to look closed, where as my other air fryers glide in and out with ease. Not something concerning, though, as the fryer works as intended. The removable flat basket was a challenge to clean because food debris sticks to it. I sprayed it with PAM oil but it still didn’t clean as easy as I’d like. It is dishwasher safe, though, and I cleaned it by hand. It’s size makes it easier to store, but it is still a bulky item, like all air fryers. The weight of it may be a con to some if you are gifting this to people you may not be able to carry heavy items. ---RECOMMENDATION--- I highly recommend this product for people who prefer analog vs. digital options and are looking to cook for 2-3 people in their household.

Amazing air fryer!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this fryer. All foods I have tried come out crispy and healthy, little to no oil! Setup was easy, they recommend to always use the inner tray for more uniform frying. One dial controls the temperature and the other one is the timer (the fryer auto shuts off). I have tried chicken breasts (breaded and non breaded) and french fries and they always come out amazing and crispy! They also included a nice recipe booklet and the instructions for time for common foods are on the spot! Check my pics! One thing that I'm doing is just washing the trays by hand with soft soap and a soft scrubber. I have not tried a dishwasher, they say its safe, but I don't want to risk nicking its coating in a dishwasher. I have hand washed it several times and its holding up, no nicks nor rust.

Very Solid And Acceptable On Sale
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this for $29.99 (regularly $69.99) as a Deal Of The Day because I had heard that air fryers work well and this was an inexpensive way to try one out. A lot of previous reviews were very positive. The unit seems to be pretty solid although the removable rack is somewhat thin and difficult to clean. The manual dials were a little less convenient than digital controls, but really acceptable. After a few tests with fries, chicken breasts, etc., I was pretty pleased. Checking later DOTD, I found a digital Insignia model normally $99.99 for the same $29.99 so this would became a donation to my daughter. These things are on sale all the time evidently... Ultimately I ended up with a $119.99 larger digital Insignia for $49.99 that is admittedly nicer (and easier to clean) also at a great price. Still don't regret starting with this one, but the same size digital Insignia at the same price is the better deal. I wouldn't say the same at the regular prices on any of these - gotta love the Deals Of The Day!

Surprising and Space Friendly
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used it a few times and I rather like it. The smaller size is nice and fits nicely in the kitchen. I tried it out the first time to do some potato cuts without oil. I was unsure about the timing, but some of them were good, some needed to have cooked longer. Just getting my feet wet in the use of an air fryer. I used it the second time to reheat some waffles, and today I actually cooked three pieces of chicken in it. I had three thighs in the basket style bottom. I had room for a little more (like maybe two additional pieces). I cooked it on close to 380 for the heat and about 30 minutes. The chicken turned out nicely and actually had a bit of a rotisserie like taste and I was surprised. I will definitely like using this. I cooked the chicken for me and one of my furry pals. I had the air fryer going off to the side, only going to it to turn the chicken over on the bottom side once. I cooked some chops for family on the regular stove along with green beans and Mac & Cheese. I liked that I could cook and be more space efficient. Clean up (with dishwashing liquid and running warm water along with a dish cloth) was easy and everything looks new again. Be sure to wipe it out the basket and grill circular plate with dry paper towels to remove any excess oils (if you use any at all) or grease first before washing. I enjoyed the use of this Chefman air fryer.
