Chessmaster is a great game to play, especially since it is hard to find someone these days to play with face-to-face. It can show you strategies and recomended moves. There is even a warning system when you make potentially hazardous moves, which can help you remember not to do that again. there are other good features, such as fun boards, animations, and customizable settings. My only problem was the fact that I am not a proffesional chess player or even particularly good. So at the beginning, it took some getting used to the advanced terms and moves.

I had an earlier version of Chestmaster that I used for years. The 10th edition is very similar, but has many new features. I use it for "ranked play" by playing fictitious characters. I've learned so much about playing chess using this software.

Excelent product i bought is a gift but i do own my own version. Good for beginers and excelelent for Class A players (2000 Fide).

The interactive lessons have helped me a lot. Chessmaster comes loaded with features.

Does not function in XP Home or XP Pro. Everything about this version of Chess master, at least as it relates to Windows XP, is non-operational. This product will be returned.
