Sam! Sats! Mikey! Chad! Come on what is there NOT to love about this project? Put aside these 4 guys are near rock royalty, this may be one of the greatest rock albums ever recorded and definately the greatest, "Super Group" ever assembled. I didn't think you could get much better than Velvet Revolver but these guys COMPLETELY put them to shame! Sammy sounds better than he has in a long time (getting back to that VH sound a bit vocally), Sats is, well, Sats is Sats, probably one of the 4 or 5 greatest ever, Mikey is just punching his bass in the face repeadidly and sounding more fercoious than ever, and Chad is just DOMINATING the skins. I actually never gave Chad enough credit with the Peppers, he is quite amazing as a straight ahead rock drummer. Tie in the fact that they are playing smaller clubs and theatres on the tour and it may not ever get any better than this! Heres to hoping we get more than just a one off record and tour! Not that I want to Wabos and Peppers to go to the wayside, but dam, does it get better in this day and age of whinny skin and bone all black wearing teenage bands that a near Mr. Rushmore of rock strolls in and just kicks their a@ses off the walls? I don't think so!!!...

Ah, the rock ballad. So many over the years that have grabbed us and wormed into our thoughts. ‘Learning to Fall’ is another such current ‘classic’ rock ballad that will grab anyone who listens. The light touch on the guitar by legend Joe Satriani is in beautiful counterpoint to the always amazing rock voice of Sammy Hagar. The subtlety on bass by great Michael Anthony who backs on vocals is a dream. How many true rock drummers can really back a good rock ballad? Chad Smith delivers. No pounding away, just a delicate backbeat. There is so much that goes in to a ballad. The individual musicians of Chickenfoot as a whole understand the nuances necessary to produce a truly classic piece of music.
How this ballad and the fun rock sounds of “Sexy Little Thing” and “My Kinda Girl” are not playing constantly on rock and top 40 stations around the country is beyond me. The music is amazing, vocals are solid, lyrics are entertaining – what’s not to love about this band?

Just saw the Chicago show Friday and I can't wait for the CD to arrive. The biggest surprise was Chad Smith. I like the Chili Peppers music I hear on the radio, but I've never followed the band closely - this guy can tear up the drums like nobody's business. Sammy delivers his usual high energy vocals with a spirit that makes it hard to believe he's over 60. He even brings out an axe and jams with Joe a little, which was a real treat to watch. Michael Anthony not only displays his talent on the bass, but shows he is an integral part of this quartet with his backup vocals and stage presence. Then there is Satriani - one of the most amazing guitarists I've heard. Sammy is no slouch on the guitar, but when the two of them jam together Joe just tears him up. These guys truly have chemistry and you can tell it by the great time they have together on stage. Do not miss this album, and get to one of their shows if you have to sell a kidney to do so!

I thought I'd chime in since we've got a Peppers and Van Halen fan who already reviewed this album. I cam to it as a huge Joe Satriani fan. His mastery of the guitar is brilliant, but these songs just launch him 10 stories higher. The depth that a full and proper rock band adds to his music is just a pleasure. It's actually been his lifelong dream to play guitar with a full-on rock band but it never happened until now. As great as they are, I'm almost disappointed go listen to all of Joe's instrumental albums and feel like there's something missing.
So anyway, if you're a Peppers, Van Halen, or Joe Satch fan, you'll love this album. If you're a fan of great rock music, then you'll love this album. I hate to oversell anything, but this is a rare combination of talent and inspiration with an unmistakably remarkable product.

I am not the biggest fan of Sammy Hagar's solo work and I prefer David Lee Roth in Van Halen over Sammy Hagar! But Van Halen had some great music with Sammy Hagar too! This is a great hard rock CD! The songs are very well written and composed. The guitar work is amazing! The music has tremendous energy! The vocals nobody could ever guess if they didn't know that this is a guy over 60 years old! He could be 30 and you wouldn't know the difference! This CD may not get the credit or popularity it deserves perhaps because it's being released 10-15 years too late considering the state of the music industry today. Bands like this are out of fashion, especially since nobody has ever heard the name, only the players. Hopefully it will do well at best Buy and will catch on! It sure is worthy of it's release. This is a JAM!

Finally, some good, straight rock music. The genre has been very stale and boring lately. But this is some good stuff. Chickenfoot is made up of some great musicians. I first heard about them because im a huge Chili Peppers fan and theyre drummer,Chad Smith, is now in Chickenfoot. So i was pretty interested because they had a pretty good line-up. I sampled some of the three tracks(Oh Yeah,Down the Drain, and Soap on a Rope. All on their website.) It was awesome. I am pretty excited to get the album. The guitar ,Joe Satriani, is amazing. The guitar parts are very powerful and heavy. Chad's drumming is amazing. I think this music will definitly be fun and exciting to listen to . I can't wait for the CD to come out. It already sounds great. I would definitely recommend getting this album.

They don't want to be called a "Supergroup", but I don't know how else to describe them. The dynamics, drive and originality of this collection of guys who KNOW their business can be called nothing less than SUPER. The innovation of Satrioni and Hagar along with the drive of Smith and Anthony create a synergistic masterpiece that makes waiting for their next album seem like a million years away. To listen to Sammy sing you would not dream that he is sixty two...sounds as good as he ever did if not better! A lot of the older musicans and singers from the 70's have difficulty recreating their sound (some of them can't hold a key)...not so with Sammy! He's still got it!

Michael anthony is a beacon of hope in this world of ho-hum boring rock style music. his astounding bass skills will throw you for a loop, unlike any loop with which you have ever had the pleasure of being thrown for. unfortunately, his sweet, sweet pumping basslines are often drowned out by the hootin' and a-hollerin' of one sam gengar. dear mr hagra, if you read this (and i know you will because i heard you read reviews on best buy dot com), just stop it already please. you're not good. and you're making Mr. Anthony look bad (is that even possible LOL?!?!?!). But yeah, cut it out.
Also, Jim Satranis is alright, and additionally, flea is pretty sick on the percussion section.

I just saw these guys Live in Seattle for their first Road Test Show in front of 800 crazy fans, and they just blew the doors off. They played all the songs on the Album, plus Bad Motor Scooter and some Deep Purple. I have never seen Satriani Live and he is just incredible, Sammy was awesome as well as Smith and Anthony. You do get a different flavor from Satriani vs Van Halen - I would say more complex guitar riffs, it will be great to hear all the subleties on the CD. Sammy's lyrics are Sammy's lyrics -not a whole lot new, either basic anthem or deep meanings. I definately recommend everyone to see them live - especially Satriani on a Rock stage...WOW!!!

Chickenfoot is the modern-day Led Zeppelin

Disregard the previous submission by "Jeffiscool".
The REAL Chickenfoot lineup:
Sammy Hagar, vocals
Michael Anthony, bass and vocals
Joe Satriani, guitars
Chad Smith, drums
This project started as nothing more than a jam session and luckily the members were inspired enough to make a recording. These four guys play better together than most established bands do and the music speaks for itself. Songs like Down The Drain and Oh Yeah! remind us why we love rock music and you clearly hear each of the guys giving it their all on every track. This is a perfect example of a result that is greater than the sum of its parts.

When you look back at the history of music, there are some bands that are considered legendary. The Beetles, Lead Zeppelin, Chinese Democracy and now Chickenfoot. Chickenfoot is an avant garde funk band from Detroit, comprised of David Lee Roth on Vocals, Robert Plant on bass, Slash on guitar, and Neil Peart on drums. The breakdowns on this album are so brutal, my cat jumped out my second story window just thinking about them! Silly mynx.
overall I give the album a solid 6 out of 10 or a hard 10 out of 5.

I said it before, Chickenfoot is the CD Van Halen fans have been waiting to hear since their Balance CD. Joe is at his best, Sammy sounds great, Chad and Mike finish off the drums and bass great. This CD is all Van Halen with bass. Joe riffs are what we have been yearning to hear from Eddie for years. My Favs, Sexy little Thing, Get it up, Down the drain, Avenida..... I can just go on and on...
You wont be disappointed....

...can't you all just kick back with a glass of wine, or relaxation' ... of choice and ... "get your BUZZ ON"!!! ... Oh well. Just a thought from a middle aged head from the '70's. Maybe every album doesn't have to be worthy of a grammy! This one, just wants to make THIS grammie, jump into her convertible sports car, grab my rockin' shoes, sing, dance, and have it all...rock on Sammy!!!

This is truly a phenomenal album. The Satch, Hagar, Michael and Chad (?) hit grand slam with this album. I went into this album not knowing if this wood be a "Van Hagar" II, and got absolutely blown away by the entire band. Joe by and far (in my opinion) commands the most respect on this album, However, this is an album that one can't go wrong with. Buy it $9.99 and have a great time!!

We got to meet the guys before the show and they are gracious and down to earth human beings. Any one who likes any of the bands they have previously been apart of will like this album.

Amazing Guitar work, Screaming hot vocals, and some serious work on the bass and drums. Sammy, Joe, Michael, and Chad have exceeded expectations on this one. Awful band name, great music. Get It Up is my favorite on on this album. I loved all but maybe one song on the whole CD. I highly recommend this one.

I haven't bought a CD in over 4 years, but this one was well worth the purchase. This CD rocks, in a way that music use to rock but has taken a turn for the worse over recent years. Todays bands could learn from these guys, but I'm sure they won't. My next purchase, 2010, Van Halen's new studio CD!!!

Sammy sings his but off as always with Satriani just making you realize that he is still at the top of the list of guitar gurus. Anthony still plays a good bass guitar and cant help but notice his back up vocals. Chad Smith does a great job keeping rhythm
