This classic slasher flick still does it for me. It's still the best in the series and when I watched the special features, I was educated on the history and development of the film and story. I don't want to give any spoilers, but watching the features gave me a whole other terrible idea of what this COULD HAVE BEEN if it weren't for Director/screenwriter Tom Holland and co-screenwriter John LaFia. If you ask me Don Macini's original idea sounded a lot like one of Charlie Band's killer doll movies and we know how bad those were. So, yes... I highly recommend the Shout Factory version of this. Plus it's still a great Christmas flick. Hi-de-ho.

Love this original movie. One of my favorites for Halloween month.

Classic 80s slasher goodness. Never gets old!!!!!!

I saw this movie in the eighties. This movie scared me pretty bad back then as a kid. After all these years, this movie surprisingly still holds up. The blu ray actually is a significant jump from the dvd too. All the grotesque details of Chucky near the end of the movie are shown in wonderful clarity and they really highlight the care that went into this. It's not as good as some other transfers, but the bitrate is still fairly high. The steel case looks pretty good too.

See where Chucky, the killer doll, started his murder rampage in this classic horror flick. Chucky is one of the few classic horror icons to still be releasing new movies & tv shows. You’re better off buying collection with all the movies in it, but this is still a solid choice!

I grew up with the undying fear of Chucky and yet (as the weird little kid I was then) I still had this desire to watch it (while most the time covering my eyes). Good times... I love the original series just as much today as I did then. I instantly bought this when I saw that: 1.) it was in blu-ray and 2.) that it had the original artwork on the cover. I would love to have the other two films in blu-ray with the original cover art. Excellent purchase.

I dont care what anyone else says, Childs play is my all time favorite slasher film! Friday the 13th and Nightmare On Elm Street can kick rocks! Chuky is a legend! C'mon this guys is a savage body Snatcher! Who kills people as a doll, and not as lame' O "spiritually possessed" im talking about straight up ima take over this dolls body and physically come alive and kill dudes!!!

Child's Play might be rather overlooked in the pantheon of 1980's slasher films, but Scream Factory definitely gave it its due justice with this set. Packed with bonus material and an excellent A/V presentation, this is truly for the die hard fans of Chucky's first suspenseful outing.

The new 2k transfer is a definite step up from the old MGM Blu-ray, but the real highlight is the Tom Holland commentary. Holland sheds much as yet unseen light on the production of this movie. For years we've only really had David Kirschner and Don Mancini's interpretation of the events, so it's great to hear from the guy who actually worked the hardest to bring this movie to the screen. All of the original bonus materials are retained as well as several new interviews and the above-mentioned Holland commentary.

Scream Factory has produced another solid, if not spectacular Collector's Edition for Child's Play. Please be aware that the audio track has an issue. The serial number around the ring on the silver side of the corrected disc is CDV/CA BD16110903 CHILD'S PLAY DISC 1. The original/problem disc serial number is BVDL-1288970. I submitted my request for a replacement to Scream/Shout Factory with a picture of my receipt and they sent me out the corrected disk the same day.

No this was a fun movie. Sure it's not the best acting in the world, and the special effects won't win any awards, but it was just good old, blood-and-gore fun. Another good popcorn movie. I even liked the sequels (some better than others). I sat down in October and had a scary movie marathon and watched them all back to back. Lot's of fun.

Good transfer to bluray movie still grain but much cleaner than VHS. Still the best version better than the 19 remake.

This is an excellent horror movie about a doll possessed by an insane killer through the use of witch magic. The doll comes to be owned by a boy, and the doll tries to take possession of the boy before being destroyed

Dated horror movies have a tendency to not look as great upon watching them several years later....

I bought this for my husband, who is a huge horror fan. It was a great price and it was blu-ray. It wasn't a special occasion, I just wanted to do something special. He loved it. I love the case! The picture on front looks so awesome! Great gift.
