Hands down the best Private Investigator movie Hollywood has have produced. Jack Nicholson is well, Jack Nicholson of course. The story line is awesome and stays true to actual P.I. work. Not too glorified or exagerated. Good stuff

I learned about this movie after reading Screenplay by Syd Field. He gives a bunch of examples of how the story and characters are written, and how little bits of information is revealed at the perfect pace to keep audiences captivated. After watching this movie, I couldn't agree more. It's an absolute classic.

This blu-ray release was worth the wait. Clear picture and sound of one of the best in the genre. Robert Towne (genius screenwriter of the film) and the unexpected but welcome commentary by director David Fincher. A great package worth the price!

We are fans of film noire detective fiction, so we seek out any and all movies that follow in that tradition. Sadly, most modern "noire" fails to live up to the tradition. Chinatown is a rare exception--one of the best films to come out of that decade, by any measure, and a true modern film noire. Highly recommended!

I bought this movie online for store pickup. The process was very easy and quick. I would highly recommended. The movie is a classic, excellent story and great acting. I enjoyed watching it back when it first came out and still enjoyed watching it on Blu Ray. Thank you Best Buy for a great price on this Steelbook.

A movie way before my time but nonetheless a brilliant showing of Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway at the top of their game.Jack is a detective and Faye is socialite with some dark secrets.A must see and one of the top 100 movies of all time.

despite the reported claims of this film shoot being a trying time for all involved, the crime thriller stands out above the rest in its genre. Nicholson, Dunaway, and Polanski were considered a toxic combination aside from this film, but thankfully for us, they were able to deliver a masterpiece.

It's hard to find any faults in "Chinatown," the 1974 classic that gets better with age. The Blu-ray is a nice upgrade in both visual and sound departments and the bonus documentary on the L.A. water system really enhances the fictional story. A must-own for avid film fans.

Although the contents on the disc itself were initially released on a 2007 Special Edition DVD and the blu-ray itself came out in 2012, the PQ, audio quality and bonus supplements still hold up today (although a DNR free transfer of the film itself would be perfect).
As for the steelbook packaging itself, while it contains no artwork on the inside, the art on the out is gorgeous enough for individuals with a growing steelbook collection to make it their own.
Recommended.

Thoroughly enjoyed this film. Jack, Faye Dunaway and the rest of the cast are in top form. The subject matter may be pertinent today with California in the middle of a drought. Water rights are of great value.

I have enjoyed 'Chintown' for many many years. It is one of the great, wonderful films of all time. On this BluRay package, they also have a number of interesting documentaries. By far the most interesting one is the 3 part documentary about the development of Los Angeles.

A movie about a Hollywood private eye who stumbles upon a more then meets the eye mystery. What makes the movie standout from others in it's genre is its overall story arc that delivers a ending that begs the question how much can one person change when dealing with enormous odds stacked against them and a corrupt system. This being a steelbook makes it a must have for those who don't already own this film.

Nicholson, Dunaway. John Houston in a great supporting role. Polanski directing and Robert Towne writing. You could argue that everyone involved hit a career peak with this film. It's movies like this that make the 70's the golden age of cinema.

This slow burn noir mystery thriller is an absolute classic that still stuns and delights today. I absolutely love this film so much. The steelbook is gorgeous, the video is fairly good and the audio is much better than expected.

A classic film noir that could have been filmed in the 40's. Jack Nicholson is superb in the role as a private investigator stumbling upon big city corruption. If you love classic movies then make sure to pick this one up.

A classic L.A Noire tale about water and power. You've probably heard the movie quoted dozens of times. If you've never seen it, make it a priority. If you're looking for extras, this blu ray has plenty to offer.

I was really excited when I saw this one day at Best Buy because I couldn't find it at any other store, and it was cheaper than Amazon when I bought it. The cover is also a big plus.

The steel book itself is worth buying with or without the movie in it honestly. There just happens to be an incredible movie inside. Jack is gold in this one. Perfect cinematography. The ending is top notch.
