SAD is real (seasonal affective disorder) especially when you live by the coast. Sometimes it is gloomy all the time and can really put a downer on things. Especially during DST time. This little lamp provides plenty of lumins, like an absurd amount of them. This thing is BRIGHT! Definitely follow the directions and use it as directed. I use it in the morning when I wake up in the home office to waken up. It definitely helps!

So far, I like this light. I honestly did not think an artificial light could give the same effects as the sun to make you get an energy boost. The Circadian Optics Lumine Light Therapy Lamp is a great item to add to your desk to get you the energy to work all day. I never noticed how working in a dim office has made me slugish at work. Since adding this light, I have become more productive at work, no joke. Employers should give these lights to their employees, they will pay for themselves. The different levels of brightness are nice to have so on bright days, you can turn it low to add a little more light and on full gloom days, it feels like I am outside. I have it mounted to the side of me on a shelf so it is not blinding but pointed down on me. I recommend this as straight on is a little too much and honestly distracting. If you are in a gloomy place, home, work, hospital, have someone buy it for you or order this light yourself, you will see a difference.

Living in the northern part of the US, access to adequate sunlight is at a premium 6-7 months out of the year. This device is simple and easy to use and provides a good amount of light. The instructions are sufficient to let you know when to use it. Just be aware that when you first turn it on it is on the brightest setting which is very bight. Don't look directly at it.

The lamp or glow square for a better name does a good job with the various light intensity that you might need. Unfortunately current with us approaching summer and ample sunlight, it is difficult to say if this will help me with with sad during late Fall and Winter darkness. What i can say it is nice light fixture to give much need light at my office desk in my home, it seems to relieve my eye strain and gives me comfort when staring at my screens for extending periods. The build quality seems rock solid, the 2 year warranty is a plus, the good cord length is nice to allow placement anywhere in your work environment. I feel from my reading the literature on light therapy and the quality of this product that it will indeed help me during the height of winter darkness.

I normally work in my basement office which does not get any natural light. So, for the last two weeks I have been testing the Circadian Optics lumen light therapy lamp to see if it really helps with sleep issues. In my testing, I used the lamp for a minimum of 45 minutes each day. At the end of my two weeks of testing I cannot say that it helped with my sleep. However, I can say that immediately following my use of the lamp I did feel a little more awake and productive. Overall, this is a well-built product that gets very bright. However, your results may vary.

I thought the Circadian Optics Bright Light Therapy Lamp would be ideal for me since I live in Oregon and Oregon is notorious for its overcast days. The therapy lamp is supposed to make a person who lives in reduced sunlight more awake, alert, and energetic by mimicking exposure to the sun. The instructions were very detailed, which was appreciated. The lamp has 3 light settings, the brightest being extremely bright. It's much brighter than a household light bulb and so bright that the instructions say to not look directly at it. The directions are to position the lamp to one’s side, between 5 and 18 inches away and to work up to using it for 30 - 60 minutes each morning. I do a lot of computer work in the mornings. I initially placed the Therapy Lamp about 18 inches away and on the medium setting. The light was very distracting and bothered my eyes. I moved it a little further away and blocked some of the light, but didn’t see much of an improvement. I could tolerate the lowest setting, but the effect wasn’t much different than turning on a lamp with an LED bulb of a similar color temperature that sits behind me. The instructions say to start with 10 minutes at a time at 18 inches distance and work up to 60 minutes at a closer distance. I tried that for a week, but was unable to tolerate anything closer than 24 inches at the medium setting. Even so, I ended up with a migraine headache every time I used the light. I didn’t notice any benefit from using it. I wasn’t more awake, alert or energetic. It could just be that my eyes are more sensitive to light than most and that I’m not negatively affected by the lack of light.

This is a great way esp on dark cloudy days keep the sunlight on and keep me energized. I've noticed in my daily working in my office I seem to have more energy, or less sleepy when the light is on providing "sunlight". I've been enjoying it and have it part of my work day now to keep me going after lunch, esp. on days with the lack of light.

I am new to this light therapy concept, and unfortunately, I don’t think the light therapy worked for me. I used the light in the morning consistently for 2 weeks in the middle setting as I thought the brightest setting was just too bright. I ended up giving the lamp away to my sister who uses it for her office without windows. She loves it, so I give it 3.5 stars.

I am new to and a bit skeptical about light therapy so I wanted to give this a long term test. The design is sleek and minimalist and will fit in with most decors, you would be fine with leaving it out for others to see. Its easy to set up and I found that the best way to get any benefit from the Circadian Optics - Lumine Light Therapy Lamp is to not stare into or at it but have the light bathe you from an angle. I’ve found the best time to use the Circadian Optics - Lumine is the morning and along with my coffee, it has become part of my morning pick me up routine, I have my coffee and read the newspaper all the while soaking in the benefits of the Lumine which then leads to less fatigue throughout the day for me. I’m looking forward to seeing how this will help during the winter months when its more dark than light out. For the price… to me you cant beat the potential benefits to your well being.

Great idea for the dark depths of winter solstice. During this time of year and when the days are short this light instantly brings a sense of positivity with its initially blinding light. However I found after time I could use the full light setting when initially the lowest brightness setting (low, medium, high) was all I could take. I found multiple purposes for this light including using it for web conferencing (with a mug placed in front of it for a ring halo effect. Overall I found this to be a quality product with many uses.

I tried this out in my brightly lit office hoping for some of the benefits it said it offered like more energy, focus, etc. no matter where I put it whether to my side or pointing just at me from an angle. It just distracted me and started to give me a headache. I reduced the intensity and duration over the last 3 days but none helped. I tried it out with 4 other co-workers in case it was just me and all said the same things. Maybe if this came with a way to mount pointing down or less intense modes it would be better but it simply was too bright to offer any help. On the flip side it serves as a good modeling light for zoom calls.
