I bought this for my mother who is very hard of hearing and has problems with her hearing aids while on the phone. So far this product works very well for her. This device helps my mother on the phone better than $2100 hearing aid.

Item included battery. But the 9-volt battery included was discharged. Had to buy one for additional $5.95 to get the amplifier to work. Once operating the unit would produce severe static and other loud interference sounds which prevented any conversation to take place. The static sound was much louder than the other persons voice. Adjusting the controls made the static go away. But it also made the other persons voice go away. Thats why i found the unit useless. I also bought a Clarity phone and it is excellent.

I've had something like this for years and I'm reasonably happy. As stated the clarity could be better and there is some feedback but for the price it's not bad.

This is a very good item for an elderly persons phone or anyone that is hard of hearing works great easy to attatch.

Was very hopeful this would help my mom hear on the phone but didn't help her at all. When we tried the "boost" key we heard a lot of static. Very disappointed but took it right back to Best Buy for a refund the same day.

Great device!! High boost and high volume really make the difference on calls. Very easy to install and use.

I have returned this item on May 14th. Item did not fit my needs. Awaiting credit to my account.

Did not use, purchased this item needing something totally different! It is a quality unit but not what I needed!

Expensive hearing aid did not help hard of hearing on phone. Clarity HA-40 makes phone comunication available - amplification more than adequate - easy to install and adjust - this is the best there is - before we purchased we researched it and others and bought three at one time without even testing one!

For 50 years phone jacks have been the same size. Why then did they produce a product that won't work for the majority of existing phones? Nowhere in their specifications does it tell me that this can only be used with phones that have this tiny jack. I purchased the phone from the same company and now I find that the amp they sell can't be used with that phone. Priceless! I had to buy this amp because the Clarity phone didn't increase the volume enough. Imagine that!

Couldn't get the phone line to hook into it because the space for it was too narrow (or to wide, I cannot remember). It was tried at my mother's (where it was purchased for), my brothers, and my house and none of our lines would fit into the area allowed for the phone line to plug into it. It was either our lines were too wide or their one line was too wide, I don't remember, I do remember thinking who in the world did they make this for? But Best Buy was great and immediately refunded our purchase price.

It does what it's supposed to do. Increases the volume on your landline handset.
