I've lost track of how many times I've seen these Clint Eastwood "Spaghetti Westerns," but Best Buy's price for the DVD collection was just too good to pass up. So I gave these great films another watching and am happy I did. The settings, clothing and supporting cast set these Westerns apart from others in the genre. If you're looking for some adventure out West, these movies are the way to go.

These are still really great movies and this is a nice collection of early Eastwood films. I hadn't watched the Leone films in some time and it was really fun to see them again, and in digital format. And of course it is fun to see the detail of the weaponry and see Clint learning his craft as a young actor and eventually becoming a great director. Leone also really captures the look and feel of the old west with the dirt, dust and sweat!

As I am sure everyone can relate, there are several movies that when I find them showing on television, I will nearly always watch them. The three Clint Eastwood "man with no name" movies are these type movies for me. So, when I got sick and had to stay in bed for a few days, I bought this DVD set and watched one movie a day...no waiting for them to come on television! They made being sick a little less depressing.

The quartet of westerns in "The Clint Eastwood Collection" (A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, and Hang 'Em High) thrust the aforementioned superstar into the public's eye. The first 3 films mentioned are generally known as the "Dollars" (or the Man With No Name) trilogy and were directed by Sergio Leone and scored by Grammy winning composer, Ennio Morricone. Eastwood plays a reluctant hero in each film representing "good" while going up against baddies like, Lee Van Cleef and Eli Wallach. Hang 'Em High was not a Spaghetti Western, but still a familiar Eastwood vehicle consisting of a man (Eastwood) seeking revenge after surviving his hanging brought on by a ruthless gang. These are some of the best Westerns ever made, so go enjoy!

I'm a big fan of the old spaghetti Westerns, and those starring Clint Eastwood are my favorites. Somehow he's always had that gruff and grizzled look and voice, and he is perfectly cast for this sort of role. Since most streaming services don't offer these old movies, I was pretty much forced to purchase these if I wanted to watch them again. Luckily, they are still pretty inexpensive to own, and the low cost of admission is well worth the experience to watch these and enjoy them again. Sure, they are dated and have pretty meager stunts, effects and make-up, but they are still good stories.
