I can't imagine anyone over thirty years of age having not seen this yet. If you haven't because of the sci-fi elements then keep in mind it's a film about so much more. This is one of Spielberg's finest works and the transfer to 4k is fantastic,not perfect but fantastic.

One of my favorite movies. Although it is in blu-ray, I'm not sure the actual resolution of the movie is the same high quality....maybe it wasn't shot in a higher resolution. Still a great movie.

Of course this is a terrific film. The 4k Transfer looks amazing especially when the various outer space crafts are around. And this set includes all three versions of the film to boot. A good deal.

You have to give this movie its props for authenticity. Back in 1977, this probably is how the public would react to an actual, peaceful alien contact with the world. That is, before the world became the darker, more fearful and paranoid world it is now. It's also authentic in how it shows the chaos and ugliness of a disintegrating marriage, and the strain it places on not only the parents, but the near-hysteria their children can suffer.

Honestly Inhave aways felt this movie was a tad slow,but I bought this for two reasons. 1. I love UFO/ALIEN movies and this is a classic! 2. In 4K ? Are you kidding? Heck yes!! Watching this on my 55" in 4K is the best and I'm glad I bought it! Worth every penny!

One of my favorite Steven Spielberg movies. It comes with digital, 4K, blue ray copy to all three versions of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Theatrical, Directors and TV version.

This is really a classic that's been rejuvenated. Looks great in 4K and with the color improved. Has some new scenes added but I haven't gone through it thoroughly yet to actually find them.

Best version of Close Encounters yet. The contrast and colors pop off the screen. Also all three versions of the film are in 4K.

All three versions in HD for one low price. Me and my dad are looking forward to having a marathon. We watched this movie together when i was younger. I am very happy to add this to my collection.

This is a must own. One of the absolutely best science fiction movies ever made. The picture is glorious and made me feel like I was watching for the first time...especially inside the mother ship

I was about to re-watch the blu-ray copy I purchased years ago when this came out in 4k and I am very pleased I waited. I would recommend watching some of these older films re-done in 4k. They do not look "as good" as the new film but they are great.

Close encounters is one of the first scifi films that has become a classic in its own right. The story is remarkable because it casts aliens as curious and friendly as opposed to hundreds of earlier scifi movies. The humor and music are outstanding.

I have not yet seen the 40th Anniversary Blu-Ray of this great story. I have the original version and love it. Newest edition has cinemascope aspect ratio and many extras. I am looking forward to seeing it in my dedicated movie room.

I sat down and watched the DVD next to the 4K. The things that are brought out in the 4K really show just how better the quality is, and what you missed on the lower quality devices

This is a replacement movie from years ago. This Blu-Ray makes the movie really "pop" with both the sight and sounds on a UHD 4K TV with surround sound!

a true masterpiece! this is my favorite “alien” film made. the score is nothing short of amazing. still a incredible film after all these years.

Very good 4k transfer..grainy which is to be expected. Sound is much improved of Blu ray release. If a fan you should enjoy this 4k version

Excellent addition to anyone’s movie collection. The soundtrack alone is worth the buy. The picture quality is beautiful. A must have for anyone who loves Spielberg and Williams.

This really brings back memories! It is such a great movie with fantastic special effects!Great to share with my kids!

Always been one of my favorites. The 4k is awesome and really gives it the vibe I think Spielberg was going for. Just wished we would have gotten an Atmos or DTS:X remaster.
