Absolute Disgrace
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upon receiving this computer the driver's were not loaded. After having to install the drivers myself I noticed the audio is completely shot. Sounds like something from an AM Radio through playback and microphone testing. (Keep in mind this is after testing all 5 USB connections and even swapping between 3 microphones in the near impossible possibility that one of them may have been damaged.) No support help, nothing. Will be refunding this quickly. The motherboard is a bare-bones ASrock z390 that does not have a connection for the audio/mic cable on any high-end keyboard such has a Razer Blackwidow. The CPU was has scorching temperatures even with a liquid cooler on day 1. I cannot imagine what this would be six months down the road for most children who may have this bought for them for Christmas and the constant lack of case cleaning. The only positive note I can give for this computer is the noise-level was good once you use the silence option on the 650 BRONZE power supply. Furthermore, the Keyboard and Mouse did not even want to work with the computer and quickly gave up after a few hours of idling without any use while I pulled my hair out trying to figure out why the audio is so awful. Overall this computer is put together with the lowest quality motherboard, PSU and Solid State Drive.
No, I would not recommend this to a friendBrand response from CybertronPC Customer SVC
Posted .acetwo,
We would first like to humbly apologize that your experience with your system was not satisfactory.
Second, we would like to assist you. Mentioned in the feedback was that there was, “No support help, nothing.” This surprised us, as we stand behind every system we build. We checked, and while we do not doubt that you contacted someone in an attempt to gain assistance, we did not find any record of your reaching out to us, specifically.
If you still have the system, please know we are committed to helping you, and making your overall experience one that is up to both our high standards, and yours. Simply contact our Friendly Customer Service Team, toll-free, at 855.490.2569, and reference ticket # 2680627.
We would also like to address some of the issues raised in the feedback.
Concerning the drivers, we believe there may have been some confusion regarding whether they were installed or not.
As to this particular system (or any of our gaming machines), the drivers should have been installed. We use an imaging system in our integration processes, and having checked and verified the image used for this configuration, all drivers are present and correctly installed.
However, even though we install all the needed drivers on our systems prior to shipping, we still provide the original discs that came with the various components used in the configuration, in the accessories box that we ship with each computer. This is so that should they be needed by our customer in the future, they are available.
We sincerely apologize if the inclusion of these discs gave the impression that the drivers still needed to be installed.
As to the sound quality, the sound on these systems is HD, up to 7.1 Channels, and provided by the tried-and-true Realtek ALC892 codec. As to why the sound was not satisfactory, we would need to – and would be very happy to –troubleshoot this, to determine the cause.
The motherboard in the system is an ASRock Z390M Pro4, which is quite full-featured for an MATX board, having 4 memory slots, along with 2x PCI Express x1 slots, 2x PCI Express X16 slots, and 6x SATA 6GB/s connectors, along with many other ports and features.
As with all of the components we select for use, this motherboard was chosen for overall performance, durability, and reliability. This is not to say that there are never issues; any physical product, by any company, has a failure rate – no matter how small. We proactively minimize these issues for our customers, through component quality and thorough testing.
With regards to the audio/mic cable connections, the system has both front and rear 3.5mm audio/mic connections, along with USB connections, as are used by keyboards in the Razer Blackwidow line. Unless it is using a TOSLINK or S/PDIF connection, then audio, microphone, and USB connections are available for any accessory, including a keyboard.
As to system cooling, it was indicated in the feedback that the temperatures seemed high. While neither the specific temperatures, nor the system of measurement were mentioned, we understand that some of the idle/operating temperatures of current CPUs can seem quite high at first glance, possibly being in the 60’s to 80’s Celsius (mid-to-high hundreds, Fahrenheit).
Please rest assured that these are well within the operating parameters for the CPU. For example, according to Intel, the upper temperature limit for the Core i7 9700K processor in this configuration is 100 degrees Celsius, or 212 degrees Fahrenheit.
In addition, today’s motherboards and CPUs will work to help the CPU operate within its temperature limits. Should those limits somehow be exceeded, the system would shut down, to prevent damage.
If temperatures above these were being seen, we would suspect possible environmental factors or, that after an exceptionally rough time in transit, the water block might no longer be completely seated on the CPU. We employ very robust custom packaging, but sadly, nothing is always 100% proof against shipping damage.
Thank you; we hope the above has been informative, and that you will contact us, so that we can make every effort to provide you with an overall positive CLX SET experience!
