This card is great

This is actually a great card. Yes, i know it has some drawbacks, but the good outweighs the bad in my opinion.
For me, this card has worked most of the time. The main reasons why it hasn't worked, is because the card reader has either been too old, or the reader was too new, and required insertion of the card, or didn't allow for NFC payments, which I attribute the problem to those devices. I have mainly used the coin at restaurants, and never had trouble at that type of business. I have only had issues retailers/stores like target.
It has also worked most of the time when buying gas for my car.
I had about 6-7 credit cards in my wallet which was fat and would most of the time hurt my bottom when sitting down. I now only have the coin, and one other credit card in my wallet that I use for backup. This for me is a huge reason to buy a coin. It definitely simplified my situation. If, for some reason, coin doesn't work, I simply pull out my backup card, and pay with that. It would be a lot to expect of one card to replace EVERYTHING in your wallet.
Another huge win with this card is that if I ever leave it somewhere, others cannot steal it and use it without my phone nearby, and I can disable it quickly by simply turning off bluetooth so that it can't be unlocked at all.
Earlier on I had issues with my coin being unpaired with my phone, but they seemed to have fixed that bug.
I also couldn't add my Lowes credit card to the app, but they are working on this.
Overall this is a great product. The Coin team has made some good improvements so far, with more to come, as they are listening to their customers.

Convenient, Sleek and Secure

I've had the Coin for a little over 3 months now and can not be more happy with it.
The best part about the product is the convenience. It works ~90% of the time (I live in NYC). Almost everywhere I go in my everyday travels accepts the card with the exception of the MTA (subway).
It has a great design that attracts attention wherever I go. I love meeting new people and this card sparked conversations with at least one person daily. A few of the girls have even been pretty cute :D
Also with the new rewards system introduced, I've already made back 20% of the product's cost. Really a win win product in my opinion.

NOT READY FOR MARKET - DO NOT BUY

I pre-ordered the Coin over two years ago. I was so excited. I hate the thickness of my wallet and the number of cards I have, so this seemed like an incredible concept.
Throughout the two year delay of the product launch, I was offered to get a refund if I wanted. I should have, but the excitement held.
This October, I finally got it. It was even the new "improved" Coin 2.0 - surely it had to be incredible! So I started to set it up and use it.
It's absolutely useless. Their verification process, which requires a successful pending transaction, prohibits many "exclusive use" types of cards from working. This included my Best Buy credit card, my Target RedCard debit card, and my Health Care Spending Account card. This, again, is because those cards only allow transactions from their respective stores/categories, so the Coin transaction was denied. So there are 3 cards I need to still carry.
But I was able to get my two "normal" credit cards (only one of which I really use) and my two normal debit cards to sync. OK, so my wallet is helped a little, right? Nope. The biggest issue is that my bank's ATM detects the Coin as a chip (EMV) card, so the magnetic stripe doesn't get read. But the Coin 2.0 isn't truly EMV - it is "EMV over NFC," which most places don't take. Most readers need the actual chip. So the Coin does not replace my debit cards - I still need to carry those for the ATM.
Finally, the "normal" credit card. It is the only thing that is mostly successful. However, about 1 in 5 point-of-sale terminals either struggle or fail to read the Coin. So, I still need to carry my primary credit card as a backup, since I don't want to sacrifice points by using my debit card instead.
So there you have it. The Coin has not replaced a single card in my wallet. It is 100% useless. And now that my name is on it, they refuse to refund their dysfunctional, incompetent, incomplete product. Please, please, please don't buy it.

Good for now but will quickly be obsolete

When this product was first announced back in 2104 it sounded like an amazing idea; a device that stores all your credit cards in one card. Fast forward to 2016 and the 2.0 version of the car is here and is quickly becoming both obsolete and unnecessary..
It does what it says it will do but there are a few drawbacks. You can add your cards to it but for me there was little reason to want to do it. I have a debit card and a credit card and they both are chipped cards and when I use them at stores their pinpads ask me to insert the chip in. Now the 2.0 Coin doesn't have a chip on it that can be coded so any store where I have to insert the chip is automatically no good. So I still have to carry the original cards with me which really defeats the purpose of buying the Coin card in the first place.
While I personally have not used the NFC feature on the card I stand by my review and notion that this will soon be obsolete before it can be useful. Maybe in the 3.0 version there will be a customizable chip for this card but I would avoid this version.

I was very excited about coin and signed up to receive on as soon as they were available. After multiple delays I received my coin, loaded it, and tried using it. It hasn't worked once. I live in DC and after checking the coin website, I realized coin works so few places it's pointless. As I still have to carry all my cards in my wallet I don't even bother taking it with me. Great idea, but useless in practice.

Cool tech, not worth the price

Very cool idea but the card itself rarely works. Likes to ignore my input for waking up, or even better, fails to lock so anyone could use it. Does not work with cards that have the new chip on them, and most banks started switching to using those chips. For example Chase switched all my cards this summer for chipped version. Now none of them work on my Coin.

The card works really well. Setup was quick and painless, and so far its been accepted everywhere I've been. Really helped downsize my wallet. Well worth the money for me.

WORST GADGET EVER

Got my COIN 2.0 for Christmas, when I was trying to upload cards into the App, none of them worked, no matter if they were chipped or not. Managed to add Ralph's and Rite Aid cards because they didn't require any authorization, but when it came to credit/debit cards couldn't get over authorization stage. My cards were charged but there was nowhere to type-in the exact amount of the charge to confirm they are mine. Neither BofA, nor AMEX or Open Sky worked (Wells Fargo and Citi couldn't even be scanned).
Reset suggested by customer service for both phone and card didn't work.
Truly worst Christmas present ever.
Will be sending it back.

I waited almost two years for this device. Doesn't work in ATMs so that card you have to carry along with a back up card in case where you the card doesn't work.
