It's just a keyboard BUT......it charges your controller technically you could play with the cable attached I'm split with this the price needs to drop though 15 dollas make it happen yall

Not only do this accessory act as a keyboard but it can boost battery performance of Dual Shock 4 as well. My favorite feature is that you can use the chatpad to type even if it is not connected to the controller.

For the price, you can't go wrong. I'm very pleased with its purpose and functionality. On the other hand, I didn't expect it to be so bulky. Having the battery pack attached as well,akes the controller fairly bulky.

Bought it seemed like a good idea but didn't end up using it much

I can only comment on the keyboard functionality, as I haven't used it to charge my controller as I play. This is a great speed convenience for sending in-game messages in GTA5 online, because standing still too long gets you assassinated. The keyboard functions well, but the body of this could use a few tweaks. I have large hands, and when this is attached I can't get my fingers all the way around the underside. Where my bottom 3 fingers usually end up is blocked by the back of the keypad. It's not a huge deal, just slightly inconvenient. Also, the angle of the keypad is too low for my liking. If the manufacturer were to angle the keypad up to almost level with the button faces, there would be more room in back and typing would be easier.

Chat boost is great buttons are responsive and feels great

Not only is it a huge help for any situation where you have to enter text on your PS4, but the keypad is also perfectly backlit which is awesome, especially for those of us using projectors in very dark rooms. The icing on the cake is that it also has a supplementary reserve battery contained within it which you can switch over to (via an actual physical slider switch) if your main controller battery starts dying at a crucial time. Contours very nicely to the controller and doesn't get in the way or add much weight. Very highly recommend.

Bought this for my son at his pleading. He does use it sometimes, but not as often as I think he thought he would. The product functions as it should, however, and was reasonably priced.

I bought this along with a PS4. Setup is quick and easy. Just pull it out of the box and snap it on. Key pad and keys feel great. However, I found typing with it to be a challenge. It's partially because of the PS4, not so much the fault of the key pad, at east that's how I felt. The controller that comes with the PS4 surprisingly does a pretty good job of typing on it's own. Yeah, no key pad, but I can tell you it's a much better experience trying to type a msg on the PS4 than Xbox One or 360. Get one and see for yourself. So I would not waste the money on the chatboost keypad for the PS4. Until something better comes out, you are better off using the controller to type, it really does work well on it's own.

This keyboard is alright. It does what it's supposed to, but it has to connect via Bluetooth, meaning that it takes about 30 seconds before you can actually type something on screen. I didn't find it very annoying, but it was a little. Later, I found my controller disconnecting numerous times, which it hadn't before I started using the keyboard and after I stopped using it. The final straw for me was when my controller just flat out could not connect to my PS4 what so ever, but once I finally got it to reconnect, I deleted the keyboard from my list of Bluetooth devices, and I haven't had any of these listed problems since. I don't think I would ever use it again, and I would not recommend it to a friend.

Love the keyboard, I can send messages fast without missing any action of the games. Added bonus that you can "charge" the controller off the charge of the keyboard as well for longer gaming on 1 controller charge. Love it!

It's a nice well made chat pad. Works great except that it will go into some kind of sleep mode after not being used for a while and it basically disconnects from console. It takes a while to come out of sleep plus connect thru bluetooth. I'm not sure if the slow reconnect is the chat pad or the PS4. Other than that everything else with this chat pad is great. Shift key and a Function key alt characters and symbols. Everything I need to play and chat with people online.

This is a neat little keyboard for the PlayStation controller! Types well and has the blue backlit feature. My only complaint is the connectivity is iffy sometimes. 4 stars!

I purchased this item as part of a birthday gift for my daughter who love to play with friends online etc. This was perfect and she loves it. No complaints from her!

This Chatboost for PS4 makes it so much easier to chat and type messages to friends while playing online. The traditional way to entering text will frustrate anyone and this is just like having a mobile phone attached to your controller minus the call feature. It lights up and links effortlessly to your bluetooth connection on the console. So worth it for just a minimal cost. The only cons would be connecting/disconnecting it as it is a very tight fit; connecting/disconnecting it also inadvertently turns on the PS4 so make sure to disconnect before turning your PS4 off.

I would say the chat pad itself feels fine and seems built well. However due to the nature of blue tooth keyboards syncing to the PS4, it's a little annoying to have to turn the chat pad on and wait for it to sync before being able to use it unlike the old xbox360 chat pad. Sometimes you have to hit a few buttons before the keyboard starts working. This isn't the chat pad's fault but rather the drawback of being a bluetooth device. Also be aware the PS4 will always think you have a headset plugged in when you have the chat pad hooked up so that may mess with your audio settings.

This controller adapter can push your texting functions to the next level. The backup battery power is very handy when you're in the middle of a firefight.

The keyboard for PS4 is very straightforward. It is a great product and fits well on the control. Only complaint is it lags a little sometimes.

It does what it's supposed to do. Only gave it 4 stars because it is very awkward to hold the controller. Just have to get used to it is all.
