Sony has truly put together a fantastic package with this release. The picture and audio quality of each release is top tier. Having an individual case for each release is perfect and the included book is great. I really have no complaints with this set and will happily buy the next collection.

I’m very glad I got this. This is definitely worth having in your collection. I just finished Lawrence of Arabia, and it looks absolutely stunning! The movie is a masterpiece and now in 4K. Looking forward to seeing the rest, and will be enjoying these for many years to come.

This was a huge purchase and it exceeded all expectations. Every 4K restoration on this set was done perfectly. Lawrence of Arabia looks more epic than ever. The 4K clarity and HDR shines in every bit of detail and frame. They had to split the movie into 2 discs because of how big the file is and it shows. The amount of work done is grand. Gandhi was also split into two discs and that looked just as good too. The rest can be applied to all other 4 movies. This set is worth picking up, the packaging is outstanding with each movie coming with their own case. It also included a very well designed booklet breaking down each movie on the set. Big thumbs up for this one.

Reviews of this set are spot on. These films dazzle in 4K! Color, detail, sound-all there. This is the reason to have a high quality 4K set and good sound system. I saw Lawrence of Arabia as a ten year old at the theater-didn't appreciate how great a film it is. All these titles look and sound amazing and the book is a treat to read. Shipping takes time these days. I had to be patient which gets hard when you're waiting for a set like this.

I was always a big Kubrick and Lean fan so when this set was announced I was siked. As I hoped the 4k transfers of Lawrence of Arabia and Dr. Strangelove are top notch. the other films (Gandhi, Mr. Smith goes to Washington, A league of their own, and Jerry Mcguire) haven't disappointed me either. Plus, with only 8,000 of these in print it is a great collectors item. Get this if you can before it runs out.

I'm a sucker for most 4k releases. This set is a great diverse collection of classics making their debuts onto the format. They all look and sound phenomenal. And the packaging is perfect. I love that each movie has it's own case. The price is a steal too, which is a bonus!! 10/10

I’m not too crazy about studio-focused sets as they seem to push their brand most of the time instead of including quality films. However, Sony put the movie lover in mind for potential consumers in this classics set by including a mix of objective classics and fan-favorites. Though I haven’t thoroughly perused this set (or seen all the films), I’ve sampled the picture quality of each and, for the most part, the HDR is stellar for each one. I have little more to add on how incredible Lawrence of Arabia looks (hopefully it’s a stepping stone for Sony to use Dolby Vision on more of their discs), and both Mr. Smith and Dr. Strangelove are great B&W HDR transfers (though I’m still partial to Criterion’s disc of the latter, which is unfortunately made moot [excepting packaging] by this release). Really, the only slight disappointment for me is the League transfer, which offers improvements on clarity but no major changes with color grading or HDR. Overall, this is a solid deal if it doesn’t break the bank (though individual releases hopefully come to pass, especially of Arabia), even if you are interested in only a couple of films. Also, as of this writing I’ve received the replacement Arabia special features disc.

I was an individual that was able to vote on which movies were included and I voted for Lawrence of Arabia and Gandhi. Two of my favorite movies of all time. I’ve only watched those two movies of the six so far, but they are amazing, in my opinion. The packaging is excellent as well- each movie has its case. If I have any quibble with the “classic” box set it’s that with all the movies that Columbia/Sony have, they chose A League of their Own and Jerry Maguire to include in this first box set. While I like both of these movies, they are not in the same category with Mr Smith, Gandhi, Lawrence and Dr. Strangelove. Even with that complaint, if you love and collect movies the set is highly recommended!!

This a fantastic collection! All of the 4k transfers are absolutely stunning and the price is very reasonable for the amount of films in this collection.

2/3 of the way through the set and have been astounded by the PQ upgrades for these UHDs. Lawrence of Arabia is a first-day theatrical experience, A League of Their Own looks like it was filmed yesterday, and those upgrades alone are almost worth the entire set. Can't wait for Vol. 2!

Everything about this set is great, the packaging, the book, and the individual movies. I definitely recommend you buy this especially for someone starting out to buy classic movies or just 4k movies in general!

The 4K quality is fantastic on the large scale 70mm productions like Lawrence of Arabia, but brings little to older classics like Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. It is an odd selection of films considering the films in the Columbia catalogue. The delivery was delayed which caused disappointment as it as promised 8 days before, not arriving till June 25.

Sony did a fantastic job with this first volume, and I hope to see more. However, I will say that Jerry McGuire is a bit of a black sheep

None of these films have previously released on 4K - a few are some of the greatest films of all time!
