I grew up watching Columbo and still like it today

This is the first season of Columbo on dvd and fun to watch without commercials.

I enjoyed this Detective Show starring Peter Faulk!

When this series debuted on the NBC Mystery Movie, It was the best of the bunch compared to McCloud, McMellan & Wife and Banacek. You knew who committed the crime and watched Columbo put all the pieces together to find out - a unique twist and highly interesting plot. The Series proved you cannot get away with murder, a very real life situation which will catch up with you. Also, the series had some very fine actors guest starring as the murderer or individual who aids Colummbo in his quest to solve the crime. (Ray Miland to name one) I never get tired of watching these episodes over again because the writers did not need to imply excessive violence to keep your interest. Plus, I like the idea that Columbo always relied on his mind and not anything else to find out who the guilty person or party was. Definitely worth getting all the original series!

Although the Columbo series is old. It is quite refreshing to watch them over and over again. As compared with current television series', no extreme violence, no vulgar language or situations.. These are the way a movie or television series should be made. I feel the same about all the Columbo sets. I am currently ordering the 2nd season.

Growing up as a teenager in the 70's; watching Columbo was a treat. we had only black & white tv. so when the series came out it was in color, what a treat.
