If you have a young son, or daughter, with an interest in history, especially military history, this old TV show is a great way to fulfill that curiosity. My 9-yr old son loves the History channel and the like and has found WW2 especially intriguing. What to view that is not too realistic? thought back on my youth and have rediscovered COMBAT! The episodes are authentic, action-filled with the actual European languages used; there's no swearing and no R-rated blood-letting. The story lines are fact-based and there are alot of innovative filming techniques that were lost on me when I was a kid. These stories also have alot more complexity about the human condition in times of war than most movies do now. My wife has gotten to know Sgt. Saunders and the patrol and now enjoys the nightly episode watch, too.
