I love this flat iron. I am buying my second one just in case my first one from 5 years ago dies. The model CS54 is being discontinued and the replacement newer model has bad reviews. Surprised by negative feedback. I have long hair past my waist. It is fine but I have tons of it. My hair has a light natural wave to it and can dry "poofy" and I use this to straighten it and/or curl it. If your hair is longer and are looking for tons of curls down the entire length of your hair, get a clipless curling iron. I pull this flat iron straight through my hair until the last 6 inches, then wrap my hair over the barrel once and then turn the barrel/wand a half turn in the direction you wrapped your hair and pull my hair through. It curls the ends. Don't brush your hair afterwards, flip your head upside down, finger pull apart the ends and flip your hair/head rightside up. Gives tones of volume and pretty curls. Took me a little bit to figure out the way to wrap etc. but I cannot live without this! At least once daily someone compliments me on my hair.

I did not expect such bad reviews for this item. I came here to actually purchase ANOTHER one of these I like it so much. My daughter owns it and this would be my 2nd for myself. I love the curved section so you can bump the ends under and actually curl your hair with it not just straighten. It works on my hair the way it should and always has. I dropped it rather hard from up high while on and it quit getting hot. This one is about 5 or 6 years old I guess so I can't complain. I tried to open it up and see what happened in there but see nothing wrong :-( I do wish it LOOKED a bit sleeker. But other than that I love it.

This doesn't work for long hair- it didn't curl my hair at all. I brought it into my hairdresser who was unable to make it work the way it was supposed to. Overall very disappointed, would NOT recommend.

I watched the instructional DVD that came with the iron and was very hopeful. I and my two girls have thick, long hair and it wouldn't curl at all. I tried the high, medium and low temperature settings. I tried moving it through my hair slower. I tried smaller bits of hair. I tried just curling the ends of my hair. Nothing worked. I'm very disappointed.

Didn't like this product at all. Didn't like the way it curled my hair. It just gave my hair a wave and made it look sloppy. Just sticking to normal curling iron.

Saw it on TV and really wanted it, but who wants to pay the extra for shipping and handling. Couldn't believe it when I actually saw it in the store and at a better price. Love it, works exactly as described, use it every day. Actually bought a second one for my daughter to use. Highly recommend
