Really wish this wireless function was built into the hunk of metal the August Door Lock is, but i guess that was too much to ask for. Gave this a 4 star rating because it took longer than expected to pair to the door and wireless network. Not sure if the problem lies in the network or the distance from the lock but it wasn't far. When i did get it to work though, it's a pretty nifty product. I can open the door remotely and check to see if door is locked or unlocked on the iPhone app. *Would only recommend this product if: 1. You already bought the August Door Lock and can't return it and are looking to extend its capabilities 2. You were gifted the door lock 3. You have some spare change and don't know what to buy

Initially, within the first week of setup, there seemed to be connection issues with my router, as evidenced by blinking lights and Lock functionality let downs, but a support request from tech support, a couple of updates for this device and the August Lock, and my installation of a wireless router repeater that is closer to the device, seemed to solve those initial issues. Unfortunately, this device could only be ordered for shipping. I would have preferred that this item was sold in the store alongside the Locks. Seems a bit pricey, too, considering the price of the Lock itself.

This item to me is necessary to have if you are buying the lock. Without this, you have to be next to the lock in order to operate it. That makes the lock with out this kinda useless... but WITH the Connect, now the lock is great.. I live in an apartment and oddly the super doesnt have the key, so he called to be let in to do some work on my heat, so bingo.. log in, let him in. Similarly, my son forgot his keys, he called me, I let him in.. awesome. Here's the issue.. I find sometimes if there's a brown out, or power goes out.. when its restored, sometimes the Connect doesnt talk to the lock or my router.. I find I have to often unplug it and plug it in a few times before it works.. Also, the time it takes to talk to the lock when you request the status on your phone can sometimes take longer than your patience..

This works as advertised. I just wish the capability to connect to wifi was built into the August lock itself. I suppose the power needed to enable the wifi circuits would drain the lock batteries too quickly. This enables me to lock, unlock & check status remotely with the iPhone app - which is the point of a smart lock.

I purchased an August Smart Lock and added this to compliment the product. It was super simple to set up and has been proved useful as I can now remotely lock or unlock my front door no matter where I am. Very useful! I can let people in when they text me, I can lock the door after I know someone has left the house....and now there is no more leaving a key under the door mat!

It does what it says it will do - connect your August lock via WiFi so you can control it from anywhere with your phone. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is sometimes it is a little slow to react. Probably more a function of the iPhone app. Setup was VERY easy.

It was easy to setup,just plug it in. Only got tricky when switching it to different WiFi networks. Helps the August lock connect to the Internet.

This product has been perfect for easy entry, particularly when you have your arms full. Also, convenient to let others in when you are not at home. We also purchased the WiFi adapter for remote usage.

This is great to remotely connect to smart lock. Only problem is if/when power surges, the device needs to be unplugged and plugged back in.

I travel a lot and sometimes have guests stay at my place. When they can't figure out how to use the August app they can let me know and with a few taps I can open my door from across the country!

Product is a must if purchasing the lock. Love knowing the door is locked when I leave. Also unlocks when I walk up to the door.

I don´t know why sometimes it fails to lock, although I have very much enjoyed it and it has been very useful

My only disappointment with this product is that only one lock can be controlled at a time.

This device works as well or better than I had expected. Makes it easy when I drive up to the house to get not have to use my key

This piece has made a BIG difference around the office. It's small and draws little attention when plugged in. I'm a fan!

We were first going to go with just an average keypad lock for our door but accidentally ran across this. We were skeptical as we hadn't heard of it before but after installing, I honestly wish I could've had this years ago! Definitely best and safest buy of the year!
