After purchasing this product, I did on Youtube review, and this product was scored very low for image video quality. There were other challenges with the remote not responding well to the "follow-me" mode. The battery lifge was alos falling short of the advertise duration. So, these reasons I returned the product in the original packaging the next day.

This is not my first drone, but the others were considerably simpler. Thus, I may have been more impressed than I would have been if I had more experience with higher-end ones. That being said, I can’t but recognize that I was impressed by just everything about this Contixo F29.
The first thing I liked was the 4K image quality, not only when recording to an SD card, but also on the screen built into the remote. I knew it was 4K even before receiving it, but I thought that I would see the difference only when seeing it on another device. Fortunately, I was wrong because it looks really well on the remote screen. There is some lag and sometimes the image is not as smooth, especially when the signal becomes weaker, but when you play it on a computer, the image is always flawless.
One feature that I was eager to see was the follow-me mode. I had seen that on YouTube videos, but I had never seen it in person. It really is cool. My wife and I have been using it to record our hiking here in southern Oregon to share with family members who live in other states. It is so nice. My only disappointment is that we can’t do more than 20 minutes at a time before replacing the rechargeable battery. That is not bad, but when you’re having fun, 20 minutes go by really fast.
The other feature that is almost as impressive as the follow-me mode is that it can return home when losing signal or the battery power gets very low by simply using its built-in GPS. It’s basically a warranty it won’t crash or get lost, which would be very unfortunate. Of course, there is a function to make it return home at any moment, even if there is nothing wrong with it.
It comes with a nice and very useful carrying bag where you have the drone and batteries. It is almost hard to believe that such a small case can fit everything.
Overall, I’m very impressed with the control capabilities which take a bit of practice in the beginning, but it does become like second nature once you get used to it. It doesn’t come with any SD for recording. I had to provide my own, but I had some handy. It would have probably made the whole thing more expensive if it came with one. So, I don’t mind that I used my own.

Despite the really poor manuals and assistance from ChatGPT this drone barely rarely works. There is zero customer support from manufacturer.

Ok, I’ll start by saying the Contixo F29 Altura Max 4K GPS Drone definitely looks the part: big 5" screen remote, 3-axis gimbal for smoother video, and that polished finish you expect when you’re spending more than “toy drone” money. It feels like a serious piece of gear when you take it out of the box, and there’s no doubt Contixo put some thought into the overall experience.
That said, I do have to start with the price point. For what you’re shelling out, I was hoping it would feel like a more obvious leap from entry-level drones. It’s definitely not a beginner toy, but it also doesn’t fully deliver the jump in performance some mid-level flyers might be expecting at this price. If you’re brand new and just want something that works with minimal learning curve, there are less expensive options that might make more sense. On the other hand, more experienced flyers looking for a noticeable upgrade in camera quality and responsiveness may find better value elsewhere in the same price range.
The 5" controller screen is genuinely a nice touch and helps pull the whole package together. Not having to rely on a phone is always a plus for me… and really what you expect at this level anyway, and the live view is clear and immersive. GPS flight stability is solid, especially in calm conditions, and the 3-axis gimbal does a good job smoothing out footage when everything lines up right. Where it comes up a little short is the camera itself — yes, it shoots 4K, but the overall image quality doesn’t quite stand out from competitors at this price. Dynamic range is just okay, and low-light performance is fairly average. For casual daytime flying and sharing clips, it does the job, but I don’t think it’s going to wow more demanding users.
So why four stars and not three? Because overall, this is a capable and enjoyable drone — it just lives in an awkward middle space. It offers a solid flying experience, a great controller, and enough features to keep things interesting, even if it doesn’t fully capitalize on its price tag. If you already have some flight experience and like the idea of a built-in screen controller, this could still be a satisfying purchase.
Decent drone, solid controller screen, stable GPS performance — not quite a standout for the money, but still a good overall package.

Great starter drone, touchscreen remote

I have used several types of drones, from small no camera drones controlled with a phone and viewed on the screen of the phone, to large advanced drones with cameras and GPS and several features including not using a phone and having a remote that has a built in screen. This drone is more the mid level type drone, has all the features and no need for a phone since this remote has a built in 5 inch touch screen which makes it a lot easier seeing you dont have to use your phone. The drone is very easy to use and folds for smaller footprint, includes a handy storage bag for batteries and chargers and extra propellers. You will need to buy a 32gb or more memory card for this like all drones for the camera memory which easily inserts into front. The drone itself is easy to control with the remote, has about a 23 minute total flying time and can go far distances, whats also nice about this drone, you do not need to register this with the FAA due to size and weight. Its easy one key take off and landing make this a perfect starter drone for anyone looking to get into the hobby.

I was really excited to get this drone because on paper it looks like a real steal however I am not impressed.
When I first opened the box I was pretty impressed. In the box you get two batteries and two chargers, a nice carrying case, a rubber landing pad for accurate practice, extra blades, the drone and the remote. The remote looks awesome with the big 5 inch screen and feels well put together. It did seem a bit light compared to other drone remotes but that doesn’t mean it’s not a good remote. After charging the remote and drone batteries I took it outside and fired it up. One would think that once the drone connects you should be able to go and fly, I was wrong. After coming back inside I had to read the instructions to figure out how to operate it. In short, in order to turn the rotors on you have to hold the joysticks in the 5’oclock and 7 o’clock position. This is a bit weird for me. Why not just have a “take off” button on the remote? When I took it for my first flight I noticed it doesn’t hover in a position and not move. It starts to drift a little so I brought it back inside and calibrated all the gyroscope and gps. I took it back out for another flight and flew it around and it seemed to do well. I landed the drone, turned the rotors off by the 5 and 7 position and switched to the fresh battery. Turned it back on and as soon as I took off, it leaned to one side, with no hands on the joystick and crashed right into a fence. Again, no reason at all because no joysticks were being touched. After I retrieved it I noticed 3 of the blades were broken.
At this point I need to replace 3 blades and quite honestly I’m afraid to fly it too high because I’m not confident I’ll get it back. Overall I think you would be better off with a different brand that has sensors on it to keep it more stable. I really wanted for this to be a great budget drone but it’s too unstable and too many quirky things to fly it. You should be able to control everything by the touch screen, not having to put in old gaming system cheat codes.

WOW! This Drone is amazing. Exactly what I was looking for and needing. As a Real Estate Professional I am often needing to take video and pictures of homes and surrounding areas for clients. I started with some basic drones but they always had issues with the wind and distances. This drone has everything I need and it perfect even for beginners.
Everything you need is in the box. You definitely want to allow the batteries and handheld unit to fully charge before your first use. It can take a few hours for everything to fully charge so allow for that when you first unbox this unit. Good news, while you are waiting for the batteries to charge you can use this time to watch the instructional videos provided (via QR Code) and to reach the quick start and manual guide provided. They walk you through every step you need to follow to get started. Basically it helps you make sure the drone is calibrated and ready for action. You must follow these steps if you want a great experience.
Okay now that the batteries are charged I was ready to start using the drone. I set it outside on a flat surface and followed on the initial steps to calibrate it and to make sure it was syncing with GPS satellites and the handheld unit. No issues with the setup, everything went just as described in the manual and the videos.
Flying the drone I found to be easy. Having the image displayed on the screen helped so I knew if I was flying forward or backward for example. I could see the image really clear on my handheld unit and it was super easy to navigate. The left control is primarily your altitude so up and down and left and right. Then the right control stick lets you spin left and right and fly forward and backward. The buttons to enable the camera and take pictures or video are conveniently located and easy to use as well. My first light was a success. I flew the drone above my home, to the back of the property line and down the street and back. WOW….. I am so impressed. When I was ready for it to return I tried one of the home options and it returned right to the spot where it took off (thanks GPS connection).
I really like the camera is on a gimbal axis so it helps keep the image stable even as the drone my move up and down or left and right with the wind for example. I cant wait to take more videos of homes for my customers now. Everything on the touchscreen handheld unit is designed and placed in the perfect location. I can easily control everything about the drone and it is so intuitive.

What to say about this drone! Well, like some other reviews, my opinions are my own and may not reflect your experiences.
First off the specs are great for a drone in this price range and that is great allure to get this for a first timer or someone who is patient with learning it. Comes with the follow:
1. drone
2. 2 batteries
3. 2 battery chargers
4. sd card
5. remote with folding antennas
6. spare props
7. carry case
8. landing pad
9. instructions and misc paperwork
So for the price you get a lot of stuff. However, there is always something that detours from making it a great buy. Here are my views on this.
Not so good:
1. too light, as it is easy to drift in a slight breeze
2. remote and drone will constantly beep until they are connected (really annoying)
3. takes a long time to connect to satellites before flight is available
4. unfolding arms feels like you might break them if you are not careful. cheap plastic construction
5. camera cover is hard to get off and next to impossible to get back on
6. controls are not sensitive until you start flying and then overly so
7. camera is high rez, but colors are off and not as stable as I was lead to believe.
8. I was not able to get it to land and therefore it had to be crashed to get it down (thankfully it only got a broken prop)
Good Items:
1. quieter than my other drones of this size
2. once folded and ready, the packing is way easy with get carry case and separators
3. touchscreen is good addition to this package
4. large screen for seeing where you are going when you take off for you adventures
So in the end. It is a good starter setup (if you fly in open area) and could be a cheap alt to larger named ones. However, since I am a experienced pilot, this does not suit my needs I was hoping to get with this item.

Contixo F29 Altura Max 4K GPS Drone

Ok so I just received my Contixo F29 Altura Max 4K GPS Drone with 3-Axis, Gimbal and 5" Screen Remote about a week ago and have been putting it through its paces, though sometimes it felt as though it was putting me through the paces. So when it comes to things with remote controls (aside from TVs and other basic electronic gadgets), I'm a complete novice I decided to give this drone a go.
Now as you unbox, you will find everything you need included inside:
* Contixo F29 Altura Max 4K GPS Drone
* 5" Screen Remote
* 2 Batteries
* 2 Charging Docks w/ Charging Cables
* Landing Pad
* Memory Card
* Carrying Case
* User Documentation
Now before getting started you will want to fully charge up both batteries that once fully charged one battery is inserted into the underside of the drone. Once you have a fully charged battery installed, you can continue getting setup with the calibration following along in the user manual. Initially this took me a little getting used to as I stated before I'm a beginner to drones. Plus I love the fact this this particular drone does not have to be registered with the FAA like other drones. Once I completed the calibration setup process I was ready to start connecting it to the satellites. This part did seem a little finnicky with trying to get the throttle stick at 7 and 5 on the remote control. It took me a little while trying to get it to sense the connection which if not done in a few minutes times the drone out and you have to reboot and start over. But once I finally got it started beeping and it lifted up and I was overjoyed that I got it to work and then it crashed down. Again total novice here but I absolutely love this thing. I continued playing with it over the weekend attempting to familiarize myself with the rest of the controls and whatnot. This is an amazing little drone. May be a little steep of a learning curve for someone like me, however, once you understand the controls and follow along with the user manual you should be fine.
