The Contixo F33 has been really easy to fly, even on my first few tries, and the controls feel simple to learn. The camera quality is solid for everyday filming, and the drone holds steady enough to get smooth shots. I also like how quick it is to get in the air—just charge, connect, and go. Battery life has been good for my practice flights, and overall it’s a dependable drone that gives a lot of value for the price.

I recently purchased this drone and I’m extremely impressed. The build quality is outstanding—sturdy, durable, and thoughtfully designed. Its large body and 11.1V battery deliver powerful performance, offering over 40 minutes of flight time and a range of up to 6 km, allowing me to capture anything I want with ease. The camera quality is excellent, with remarkable clarity and stability that truly justify the price. The included carrying case is another big plus—it's a hard, explosion-proof case rather than a standard soft bag. Overall, an absolutely fantastic product!

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband, and I opened it in advance to check it. The outer packaging alone amazed me — the box is as sturdy as a safe! Maybe because I’ve used drones before, I found this one extremely easy to get started with. Once you turn on both the controller and the drone, they connect automatically. The controller comes with a built-in 5.5-inch touchscreen, which is fantastic since there’s no need to download any extra app. The image quality is exactly as advertised — a flawless 4K at 30fps. Thanks to the two-axis gimbal with EIS, the footage stays stable even in windy conditions. What excites me most is the 6 km transmission range — we can finally fly it during our next hike to capture breathtaking mountain views without missing out on the beauty just out of reach! I can’t wait to see the look of excitement on his face when he opens it!

The Contixo F33 drone has exceeded my expectations. 4K camera captures incredibly sharp and vibrant footage, and the gimbal stabilization keeps everything smooth—even in breezy conditions. The GPS-assisted flight is precise and reliable, making takeoff, landing, and returning to home completely stress-free. I was also impressed by how easy it is to control; the app interface is intuitive, and the drone responds quickly to commands. 42 minutes battery life is strong for its size, giving plenty of time for recording and exploring. In the beginning, the image failed to display in the screen, after looked at the manual, I discovered it was due to not removing the cover of the camera. Once I corrected it according to the instructions, the image showing immediately on the remote, amazing! The only down part is I have to buy additional battery from the manufacture other than BestBuy. Overall, the F33 is a high-quality, dependable drone that delivers outstanding performance at a great value.

Ever wanted a bird’s eye view without breaking the bank? The Contixo F33 Vortex is a 4K GPS drone that lets you soar the skies—and best of all, it doesn't tie up your phone. So, lets go over what the Contixo has to offer.
Unboxing and Setup:
I will start off by saying this is one drone that I did not have to go out and buy anything extra, everything you will need is provided in the box, Thank you Contixo.
1 F33 Vortex Drone
1 Remote Controller (Built-in touchscreen display)
1 Hard Carrying Case
8 Propellers Blades (4 on drone + 4 extra)
1 USB Cable
4 Joysticks (2 on controller + 2 extra)
1 32GB SD Card
Manuals / Paperwork
Setting up the drone is as simple as it gets. This was my first time using a Contixo drone and following the instructions in the provided manual, I was ready to take to the sky in about 5 minutes, after fully charging the batteries that is. I highly recommend completing the Gyroscope and GPS calibrations before departure, super simple to do, just to make sure your drone stays stable and actually can return back home to you.
Also, just keep in mind since this drone weighs about 615 grams, you have to register it with the FAA to keep everything legal.
Fly like an Eagle:
Once you have done the registration, charging and the calibrations you are ready to fly. The F33 offers, 3 different flight modes. Stable (Obstacle Avoidance), Ordinary (OA but will let you control), and Sport (No holds barred). There is also a Beginner setting in the settings tabs, which limits your altitude and distance.
I started using the drone in the Stable mode with the beginner settings on, didn’t want to lose the drone on the first day, and honestly it doesn’t get any simpler. I loved how sensors were able to detect an obstacle, being my fence in my backyard, showed me the distance and once it reached an allowed maximum safety distance it would no longer move forward, essentially keeping the drone from crashing into anything using the front facing avoidance. Also, with the beginner setting turned on, once I reached the maximum height it would no longer go any higher. Once you get the hang of things you can test out the sports mode, which is really cool and offers a lot more on the drone.
The drone offers a maximum range of about 3.7 miles, I took it out about 1.5 miles around my neighborhood with no video loss or issues. It also offers about a 40-minute flight times, which is say is pretty much spot on because I was at about 35 minutes of flight and still had a bar left on the drone.
One of favorite features about this drone is the 5.5-inch built-in touchscreen on the remote controller which allows me to keep my phone free, unlike other drones that require you to use to your phone. The controller can also be charged with any USB-C cable, has extra customizable buttons and offers easy take off and landing options. Both the drone and the controller have slots for the SD card to be able to record your flight or take photos.
The F33 offers other really fun features such as the “Follow Me Mode”. In this mode the drone does exactly what the title suggests, it follows you around and in my test it did really well. I took a little bike ride around my neighborhood and it followed me everywhere I went with no issues. I also tested out the orbit mode, again did what it was suppose to. The only modes I did not test out was the one key fly far and one key skyrocketing, because I live in a residential neighborhood, I did not want to lose sight of the drone and have it accidentally crashing into something or someone.
The 4K video quality and the camera controls on this drone are also top notch. The camera allows you to zoom in and out and move the camera up and down while recording a surprisingly stable video.
Overall,
If you’re hunting for a drone that balances high-end features with 'out-of-the-box' readiness, the Contixo F33 is it. It’s stable, smart, and saves you from the hidden costs of extra accessories. It's a solid win for anyone looking to level up their aerial game

Contixo, a California-based manufacturer established in 2010, introduced the F33 Vortex 4K GPS drone, an impressive device capable of a 6KM range & a 42-minute flight. F33 Vortex has a 2-axis gimbal & a brushless motor. The included high-impact polymer hard case with customized foam protects the drone & accessories between flights.
My favorite feature is the controller with 5.5” high-definition touch screen. The bright screen is easy to see in sunlight, & eliminates the need for your cellphone to capture still photos or videos. I found the 3840 x 2160 video capturing quality to be excellent. A 32GB microSD card is included to save the videos that you capture.
The first thing when you unbox this drone is to register it with the FAA. This is a simple but required procedure that is outlined in the instructions provided with the drone. Charge both the Li-ion batteries for the drone & the controller with standard USB-C chargers. Next, calibrate the GPS & Gyroscope, by following the simple instructions in the manual. Now you are ready for lift off!
F33 Vortex includes a number of autonomous flight modes: hover, landing, low battery auto-landing, return to take-off point, takeoff, & circle. The laser obstacle avoidance detects an object in its flight path to avoid a potential crash.
CONCLUSION:
Contixo F33 Vortex is a complete package, including everything you need for experiencing the fulfillment of piloting a drone. It represents the highest value of any drone I have seen & earns my highest recommendation.

When you receive this drone, you’ll immediately notice how well it is packaged. Inside the box, it comes with a sturdy carrying case comparable to a Pelican-style case, which really impressed me. The hardened case helps keep the drone well protected during storage and travel. The drone itself appears to be well made, with a solid hardened plastic build similar to most drones in this category.
The package includes extra propellers, one battery, and a remote with a built-in screen, as shown in the pictures. One of the first steps is to register the drone with the FAA, which is a simple process on their website. The included quick-start guide clearly walks you through the registration and even provides the serial numbers you’ll need.
After registering, I charged both the battery and the remote, which use USB-C inputs. The drone comes with a USB-C cable but does not include a charging block. Fortunately, I already had spare charging blocks at home, so this wasn’t an issue. Once fully charged, you just power on the drone and controller and wait for the GPS and compass to initialize. The first time you power it on, you’ll need to calibrate the compass. The controller’s built-in screen provides easy-to-follow illustrations showing the correct orientations needed to complete the calibration.
After calibration, you can start the motors and slowly lift off. I found the setup and first flight process to be very easy and beginner-friendly. The live footage on the controller screen is clear in 4K, and I really like that you don’t need to download an app to start flying.
The flight time is rated at up to 40 minutes, although I haven’t yet flown long enough to fully drain the battery. Like many higher-end drones, this Contixo model includes useful features such as tracking, return-to-home, obstacle avoidance, follow-me mode, orbit mode, and fixed-speed cruise. My flying experience has been very good so far, and I think any beginner will be able to fly this drone with ease. The quick-start guide outlines the exact steps needed to get airborne, while the advanced features also make it suitable for more experienced flyers.
Overall, I’m very pleased with this drone. I’ve previously used DJI drones, and this one feels quite comparable in terms of performance and ease of use. It has great built quality and is a beginner friendly drone that comes with all the necessary tools to get started and include a travel case.

Good All-in-One Package for Beginners

It’s increasingly difficult to find and purchase high-end drones in the United States. I’ve been looking for a high-quality drone for several months and had never heard of the brand Contixo until I saw this new F33 drone appear in my search results. On paper, the F33 looks like an excellent middle-ground option for beginners and enthusiasts. In reality, there are some notable tradeoffs to be aware of, especially in terms of camera quality/stability and some unpredictable flight behavior.
=== PROS ===
- For beginners, the F33 is basically an all-in-one package with everything you need to get started. The drone comes with a sturdy travel case, battery, 8 blades, a 32GB microSD card, and a controller with a built-in touchscreen.
- Since the controller has a screen, there’s no need to connect the drone to your phone or mess with Bluetooth connections. The screen is very large and vibrant, making it easy to see in bright sunlight.
- The F33 is very easy to set up and calibrate using the included instructions. There are also tutorial videos available online from Contixo, but for some reason, they are only available on their social media channels (I didn’t see a video for the F33 on the Contixo website). I’m relatively new to drones and had zero issues with setup.
- Since this is a larger drone, battery life is very good – Contixo claims the F33 can last about 40 minutes on a full charge. Based on my few test flights, that seems like an accurate claim. My first test flight lasted about 30 minutes and there was still some charge left in the battery when the drone landed.
- Range is also excellent – up to 3.7 miles. I didn’t test the limits of this claim, but the drone flew nearly 1 mile away from me during a test flight and I had no issues.
=== CONS ===
- Since this drone weighs about 620 grams, you will need to register it with the FAA. Luckily, this is an easy process and only costs a few dollars, but it’s not as seamless as mini/lightweight drones that don’t require registration.
- The F33 has a 4K camera, but the actual image quality looks more like 720p or 1080p to me. To me, the video appears very grainy and washed out. It’s definitely not on the same level as modern smartphone cameras. If you need the highest possible video quality for drone footage, this might not be the best option.
- The F33 has a 2-axis gimbal for camera stabilization, but I still found the image to be quite choppy, especially when turning the drone or during even a slight gust of wind. Other drones in this price range have a 3-axis gimbal, so this is something to keep in mind if video stability is important to you.
- Another feature of the F33 is the “follow me” mode where the drone automatically tracks your position and follows you without having to use the controller. During one of my test flights, this feature worked flawlessly. On another flight, the drone randomly flew backwards and away from me – I had to chase after it and quickly disable the “follow me” mode to regain control. Hopefully that’s not a sign of other problems to come with this drone.
=== OVERALL ===
This is a nice all-in-one package for most beginners and casual drone users, but with the subpar video quality, true enthusiasts and professionals might want to look elsewhere. As Contixo seems relatively new to the drone market, the quality of their support/customer service is also a big unknown. If you can get the F33 at a sale/discount price, it’s an easy recommendation for casual users. It packs a ton of premium features and excellent range/battery life. Just be aware of the video quality limitations and some possible random “fly away” issues.

This Contixo F33 Vortex is a nice drone for a beginner like me that wants to enjoy learning how to fly and capture 4K content. I love the fact that it has a 4K/30fps video camera which I have been using to try and build some social media content.
I like the shape and body of this drone as it easily unfolds and can be ready to fly within just a few minutes. The hardshell carrying case that comes with it is a nice secure shell that protects the contents from any damage while getting jostled around in mycars trunk area. The remote control offers a 5.5" touch screen and is easy to learn and understand for a beginner. The antenna on top of the remote can be folded down for compact carrying in the case. This drone has a range of up to 4 miles of distance from where I am located so I can capture a pretty large area of sunset views on my nightly flights. Speaking of flights, the fully charged battery will allow you to get about 42 minutes of flying time which isn't too bad. This drone comes with only one battery so you'll need to be mindful of recording all your footage within that time period. You will need to obtain an FAA drone license and register this drone, but it's a simple step and fairly inexpensive.
I have liked the built in features with the remote allowing different drone flying features such as orbit mode. There are other features such as Follow Me mode which I have liked using for my running videos on social media. This is a great drone with features found in other drones. There are replacement propeller blades included in case something gets damaged. The USB-C charging cable is included so you can easily charge the remote and it also will charge the drone battery.
Overall it's a safe flying drone and reliable. I like the capability and features as it's a great leisure flying drone and a fun starter level drone for my needs.

I'm finally at the point in my life I can find time for a drone. Kids are older and I have more free time to spend with them, and they've been asking about them so here we are. The Contixo F33 4K seemed like a great way to break into the hobby and it sounds like a lot of the quality of life features like auto-land, hover, and follow have more or less been built in and standardized.
I also really liked this unit because it had its own controller with 5.5" HD screen and battery, so I didn't have to mess with tying up my phone as its display, pairing it with an app or using it to control the unit itself.
The setup and flight instructions are relatively basic, this is the rare case where the printed instructions and Quick Start Guide actually matter and you will be hard pressed to find information online. MAKE SURE TO READ THE INSTRUCTION BOOKLET. Also, be aware this drone requires the FAA training and registration for recreational operators as it exceeds the weight limit. There is a card in the instructions to walk you through the registration process and I took the training at the Boy Scouts website which was free. You should print the certificate and put it in the case so you have it with you at all times. The registration is $5.
- Turn on the controller by pressing and then press+holding the power button. You will see the blue LEDs light up and turn the controller on.
- Remove all stickers, extend the arms and landing gear and remove the gimbal camera cover and hold the power button on the battery after inserting it. This will power on the drone itself.
- The LEDs on the drone will flash red/blue and the controller will tell you the GPS needs to be calibrated. Follow the instructions by spinning the drone 1 meter off the ground then hold it upright and then do the same again.
- Set the drone on the ground, then point both sticks down and away from center to start the propellors and you're off!!!
Right away you'll get the exhilarating feel of seeing wherever you are from a vantage point you've never seen. Honestly I felt like I was flying or maybe that point you go down a roller coaster the first time. Birds eye view or maybe flying like a kite, I just went straight up about 200 feet and then started moving around slowly.
My kids were going nuts they were so excited. The drone is somewhat loud but that may be due to my newbie status as an operator. I didn't fly for too long because it started drizzling and haven't had as much time to fly as I would have liked due to snowy, cold and windy conditions all week long. Even with some drizzle and bad conditions, the F33 did fine but I didn't want to push it.
The F33 has a nice solid plastic case with foam cutouts for easy transport. It also includes an extra pair of thumbsticks, 4 extra prop blades, a 32GB microSD card, and a USB-C cable.
It did NOT include any charging adapters and the charging was extremely slow with 10W chargers. You will want to buy/use a better AC adapter because it took a LONG time to charge the battery and controller to full using 10-20W phone type chargers.
I also felt like the camera was a bit of a weak point. It claims 4K, but I believe it is a lower resolution and upscaled, which results in somewhat grainy and lower resolution than expected pictures. I have to check to see if the pictures and video are higher quality if you store them on the drone itself, but I didn't have a second microSD to test. There is a microSD slot on the drone near the front right of the drone. I didn't see the propellors in the pictures so that was a positive and the gimbal camera did a good job of stabilizing in flight.
I wasn't able to transfer or access photos on the controller by plugging it into my PC so it looks like the USB-C is charging only and no data. Make sure you have either a microSD to USB adapter or a laptop/PC that has a microSD slot built-in.
I'm really enjoying the F33 so far and I can't wait for nice weather so I can take it out to the park with the kids and fly it like a kite. It'll be nice to just enjoy it without having to worry so much about hang ups or knots or enough wind.

Great Entry Level Drone, But Only One Battery

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
This is my review of the Contixo F33 Drone with 2-Axis Gimbal upon which I rate at 4 out of 5 stars. For full disclosure, being that this drone is over 250-grams, you are required to register it with the FAA, which I have done. Out of the cardboard box you have a nice black tactical foam lined case in which to transport your drone to your favorite UAS flying location. In addition to the drone itself and the case you are also provided one battery, a remote control, 4 spare propeller blades, a USB charging cable, 2 spare joysticks, 32-GB SD card, quick-start guide, and instruction manual. Also included in the package is a laminated 2-sided card with one side showing the features of the remote control buttons/switches etc. and the other side of the card describing the screen display icons, symbols, and features. This is a nice card to carry around until you get a couple flights under your belt for a quick reference. As for some of the specs and features its battery is rated at 3,500-mAh providing maximum flight times of 40+ minutes. The drone itself has a 4K camera with a 2-axis gimbal allowing for more stable pictures/videos. The drone possess various flight modes to include, return to home, low battery auto-landing, follow me, orbit mode, one-key fly far, one-key fly far, and one-key skyrocketing, plus obstacle avoidance.
For my first in flight experience with this drone I found it on par with the competition. My flight conditions were on a very clear day and slightly overcast. The flight response has minimal delays in response like the rest to include lagging video captures yielding choppy videos in a rotational format which cannot be avoided. I performed almost all of the preprogrammed flight modes without any issues except the one-key fly far as I was in an area with tall pines and swampy areas and didn't want to risk a zero-return on my initial testing. While performing the one-key skyrocketing, I soared to 390-feet, then hit my programmed ceiling height triggering an audible alarm. I then performed the return to home function. Being that it was at such a high altitude, it took a bit to descend and required some manual guidance on my part to avoid some neighboring structures. All in all, I found the trial of this drone to be a good value except for one thing, not including an extra battery, for which I am deducting 1-star.
I hope you enjoyed reading my review and it aided in your purchasing decision.

Contixo F33-A surprisingly complete drone package
|

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The Contixo F33 is a feature rich, long range 4K drone that solves one of the biggest pain points of older consumer drones: the need to strap your phone into the controller. With a built in 5.5" touchscreen, a stabilized gimbal camera, and a surprisingly robust set of autonomous flight modes, the F33 feels like a major quality of life upgrade for pilots who want simplicity without sacrificing capability.
1. Flight Performance & Endurance - 42 Minute Max Flight Time
A standout spec for this class, the F33’s 42 minute flight time puts it well above most mid range drones that hover around 25–32 minutes. In my test flights, I got about 35–38 minutes in mixed conditions. This gives me some confidence that I have enough time for multiple takes without battery anxiety. This extended endurance pairs well with the drone’s long-range radio system.
3.5+ Mile Transmission Range
The F33’s 3.5+ mile control range is impressive for a consumer drone. The long-range link provides:
• Stable HD video feed at distance
• Strong penetration in suburban environments
• Confidence for wide area shots, mapping, or long tracking sequences
It’s not just about distance—it’s about maintaining a clean, low-latency feed, which the F33 handles better than expected.
2. Integrated 5.5" Touchscreen Remote
This is arguably the F33’s biggest quality-of-life win. Instead of juggling your phone, cables, and app updates, the F33’s controller includes a built in 5.5" touchscreen with:
• Bright outdoor readable display
• Preloaded flight interface
• Zero setup time
• No battery drain on your phone
• No interruptions from notifications or calls
If you’ve flown older drones that required your phone, this is a massive upgrade. It makes the drone feel more professional and more convenient, especially for spontaneous flights.
3. Camera System & Gimbal
The F33 uses a 4K camera mounted on a mechanical gimbal, providing Stabilized footage, Smooth pans and tilts and, Better low vibration performance than electronic stabilization alone. While it’s not a cinema grade sensor, the footage is crisp, and the gimbal does a solid job keeping shots steady even in moderate wind.
4. Advanced Flight Modes for Cinematic Shots
Contixo packed the F33 with a suite of automated flight modes that make it easy to capture dynamic, cinematic footage without manual stick work. These include:
Orbit Mode
The drone circles a subject at a fixed radius and altitude—great for dramatic reveals or establishing shots.
Follow Me Mode
Ideal for biking, hiking, or boating. The drone tracks your movement while maintaining framing.
One Key Fly Far
A quick way to send the drone outward in a straight, stable line—perfect for long pull away shots.
One Key Skyrocketing
A vertical ascent with smooth stabilization, creating a rising “rocket” shot that’s great for transitions.
One Key Spiral
The drone ascends while spiraling around a point of interest, producing a complex shot that would be difficult to fly manually.
Additional Modes
Of course some of the standard features to have learned to love over time include:
• Return to home
• Auto takeoff/landing
These modes make the F33 accessible to beginners while still giving experienced pilots creative tools.
5. Build Quality & Handling
The F33 has a sturdy, foldable design with:
• Brushless motors for smoother, quieter flight
• GPS + optical flow positioning
• Stable hover performance (depending on conditions of course)
• Good wind resistance for its weight class
• An awesome case with custom cut foam padding to securely hold the drone in transit (Thanks Contixo!)
It’s not as compact as ultra light drones, but the tradeoff is better stability and longer battery life.
Bottom Line
The Contixo F33 delivers a surprisingly complete package: long endurance, long range, a built in touchscreen controller, a stabilized 4K camera, and a deep set of autonomous flight modes. It’s a meaningful upgrade for pilots who want convenience and creative flexibility without jumping into the ultra premium price tier.

I'm somewhat of a drone novice. Every time I interact with one I'm afraid I'm going to crash it on a roof somewhere and lose it. With the time I spent with the Contix0 - F33 Vortex, I have to admit, this product is a solid drone for beginners.
First of all, due to weight (largely based on the battery) this drone HAS to be registered to legally use it. This is my first time experiencing that. After registering (which is a fairly easy process, charge the drone and remote, and you're ready to go.
The F33 starts on beginner settings, which limits the flight distance, altitude, etc...good starting spot for me. On a full charge, I got a little over 30 minutes flight time before the battery got low (again, not trying to lose the drone). Even on beginner settings, the drone flew high. So high I couldn't get a clear picture of it, however, it was still able to clearly see my neighborhood. Controlling the drone, and the gimbal on the camera was shockingly easy. I had no problem maneuvering it to take the pictures I was looking to take.
For a drone beginner, the F33 is a great starting point. Once you get the mastery of it, you can remove the beginner limitations which increases the distance you can fly away as well as the altitude. When flying in GPS mode, the drone will automatically return to it's original point of taken off when requested, or when the battery gets low, which, perfect for someone not trying to lose a drone.
All in all, I'd say the F33 drone is a great drone for beginners with great abilities, but also features to assist drone noobs like myself. It also comes with great packaging that makes it easy to keep up with all you need. You really can't miss with this.

The Contixo F33 is a good drone that has many useful features.
The F33 comes in a hard-shell storage case with foam cutouts that are customized to fit each accessory. I really like the case, as it’s made of great quality and makes it easy to carry the drone and all the accessories. The case includes the F33 drone, the controller with an LCD touchscreen, extra propellers and a 32gb memory card. The F33 does require you to have it registered with the FAA.
The controls on the F33 are very responsive, and the range at which you can fly is very impressive. I was able to fly the drone a great distance away, and I never had any lag or instances of stuttering. Even the remote video image was visible, and crystal clear the entire time. And if the drone were to lose connection, there is a handy “return to home” function that automatically brings the drone back to the point where it took off. The drone also has sensors in the front that enable it to avoid hitting objects or people, which actually works really well!
The F33 has a 4K camera with a built-in gimbal that does a fantastic job at eliminating camera shake and maintaining a steady and smooth shot while maneuvering the drone. I have to say, I am very impressed with how good the gimbal works with this done. There are some really cool flight options that you can do that will give you amazing shots, and they can be done by the push of a button on the remote. I especially love orbit mode, this is where the drone will orbit around you and with the built-in gimbal making the footage super steady, it looks like such a professional shot. Other useful buttons that make awesome effects are skyrocket, which shoots the drone straight up in the air really fast. You can even set your own custom buttons on the remote with many physical buttons.
Overall, I am extremely happy with the Contixo F33. The drone has an excellent 4K camera and built-in gimbal that captures incredibly smooth, high-quality footage. With the one-key features, this takes your filming to next level. I would highly recommend the F33 to anyone looking for a new drone that delivers excellent performance and value.

The Contixo F33 Vortex 4K GPS Drone is an excellent drone for getting 4K video or pictures. It's very beginner friendly, and doesn't require and app to operate it or take pictures or video.
Since it's over 250 grams (0.55 pounds), you will need to take the The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST), and also register the drone with the FAA.
The remote is easy to use and comfortable/ergonomic in my hands. The display is bright and is easy to see even when it's sunny. It comes out of the box with beginner mode engaged, which is basically preset safety parameters so that the F33 doesn't get too far away from you while learning how the the F33 flies. You can easily disable beginner mode, but I would recommend setting your max height to 400ft when you first start to make sure you don't go over that height if you are a recreational drone pilot.
The F33 is very easy to control and fly. There are three modes that you can select for your flying comfort, stable, sport, and ordinary. It also has obstacle avoidance if you are flying it in tight spaces. It also has follow mode.
The camera is extremely stable thanks to the two-axis gimble, and taking video or photos is easy thanks to the built in buttons right on the remote.
Contixo claims you get up to 42 minutes of battery life, but the few times I have flown this drone, I was only getting about 20 minutes. Maybe I am being too aggressive or sporty with my flying.
I was very nervous flying the F33 the first time because I had no idea how it would react, but I found it very easy to fly, and I'm getting more and more comfortable each time I fly it. I really like that the controller has the built in display. My previous drones we controlled by an app on my phone, which I don't really care for. But those were basically toys compared to this F33.

I will start this out by stating that I still consider myself to be a complete novice when it comes to the world of drone flying despite having owned a different brand and trying my hand at flying enough to own having some experience. I had never tried the Contixo brand before. The Contixo - F33 Vortex 4K GPS Drone with 2-Axis Gimbal, 6KM Range, 40-Min Flight, 5.5" HD Screen & Brushless Motor definitely didn’t disappoint.
Because of its weight this was the first time I had to actually register a drone with the FAA. This may seem like a daunting task for newbies but it was a fairly simple and straightforward process with a nominal fee. The actual setup of the drone was simple and practically foolproof. Completing the calibrations is a must just to avoid any issues with your drone. If you are a complete beginner or want to make sure you are comfortable before venturing deep into your flight experience it’s a great idea to start with the beginner flight setting but it won’t take long before you can fly using one of the 3 flight mode options without the beginner assist. The 4K video quality is excellent and the camera controls allow you great flexibility without compromising the video footage. The remote controller has a nice sized built in touchscreen making your experience even better.
Overall, I think Contixo knocked it out of the park with the F33 Vortex drone. It’s easy to operate, comes with everything you need out of the box to immediately start using, and makes even the most nervous of new pilots feel at ease fast.

A great drone for beginners, the Contixo F33 offers impressive features for the price. The 4K camera, stable 2-axis gimbal, long flight time, and solid range make it a decent starter choice. Overall, it delivers good quality and performance without breaking the bank.

I am no stranger to the world of drones. I have been flying for over 10 years now and have used everything from small toy drones to high end DJI drones. I was interested to see where this one would fit in.
Out of the box, I have to say, this feels like a very well-built drone. It has a very solid feel; the arms are nice and stiff with no play in them. The controller feels very solid and the joysticks and buttons move very well.
One thing I really love about this drone is that you can take it out of the box and fly it right away. You don’t need any account, there is no app to download, none of it, you can just fly it. It does have to be registered with the FAA due to the weight, but that is it. It does not broadcast a Remote ID either. So I do love that you don’t have to give up tons of personal information and agree to a 50 page document of small print terms just to fly it.
The drone comes in a very nice hardshell case with a foam insert that perfectly hugs the drone, controller, and battery. There is also one other small compartment for holding the extra propellers and SD cards and things like that. I wish this kit came with 2 batteries, because the batteries don’t have any kind of rapid charging, so it can take a few hours to completely charge the battery.
Once you get everything powered on, its time to fly. This is a GPS drone so it will lock onto GPS satellites and remember your home location and the drone can return to you if it loses its signal. The screen for me was nice and bright and I could easily see it on a sunny day. It has a lot of the same menu options that similar DJI drones have as far as adjusting the control sticks so you can get the drone moving exactly how you want to. One thing I don’t like about the controller is that the sticks are above the screen, so the sides of your palm often touch the screen and can sometimes activate functions by accident. I have this same problem with DJI drones as well.
Flying the drone is very easy, its not quite as fast as some other drones in this price point, but I found it very easy to fly around without any problems. I would think even someone who has never flown a drone before could easily pick this up and be flying in to time. They claim it has a range of up to 4 miles, but I only went about a mine and a half to 2 miles and that was about as far as I wanted to push it.
So, as far as the design, and operation of the drone, I give this 4-5 stars all around. Now lets get to the bad part, the camera. This is a 4K 30fps. camera meaning that it will take pictures and video 3840 x 2160, which it does. The problem is that the pictures and video are very low quality and quite grainy compared to other drones in this price range. The video often times with have kind of a wavy effect going through it. So, if you are buying this drone for any kind of high-end video or photography, you will want to look elsewhere. If you just want to use this to look around the area you live in, then you might find the image quality perfectly fine.
I mostly use drones for aerial photography, and this one was pretty bad, not to mention that every time you take a picture you must wait about 5 seconds for the image to process and during that time you won’t be able to see any video on the controller’s screen. So, if you need to do any kid of rapid-fire photography, this is not for you either.
There are also not many controls to adjust the images in the menu. There are a few basic brightness and contrast controls, but it does not help. This drone also does not have the ability to take RAW photos either like most other drones do. You can also not adjust video size or frame rate or anything like that. All you get is 4K 30fps. One other major dealbreaker for any kind of professional type use is that there is no way to attach any kind of ND filters to the camera lens. So, if you are out on a bright sunny day, your images will look really bad and blown out.
So, overall, this is a a very solid and well-built drone that flies really well, but is hindered by a absolutely horrible camera. If this company was able to team up with a good camera maker and get a nice high-quality camera on their drones, this could be a serious competitor to brands like DJI. But for now, it seems more like a toy that you can use to fly around and see the world around you, but you wont be able to capture it very well.

This drone is a very powerful piece of device. It can fly fast and far, the control panel is easy to use and you can see exactly where the drone is heading from the remote control touch screen. There’s no need to look at the drone directly.
