It does what it was made for. The design is ok, the biggest factor that made me buy this was the fan itself. Big fan that cools quite well. One drawback is the back isn't so sleek, has cord organizing hooks, which I think would only hinder it's cool air intake. Another drawback is there aren't any grips on the top to hold laptops in place, I'd like some even if I have to manually put them on. Luckily my laptop has corner grips, so I managed without it. It's pretty light, but somewhat flimsy. LED is pointless, in my personal opinion. Overall, good buy, without too many complaints.

It gets the job done but it is difficult to take it with you.

I read the reviews and still bought it since it was 50% off. My laptop would not stay on the cooling pad and kept sliding off. It would probably be fine if it wasn't angled.

I've had my Notepal X3 cooling pad for about a month now, and I definitely have somewhat of a mixed reaction to it. We'll start with what I like - LED light can be turned on and off. I generally keep it off, but it's a nice touch. - Sleek look. It is a very nice looking cooling pad. - "Hand drier" keeps hands from getting overly sweaty while using the laptop. A nice luxury. - USB port. The sole reason that I opted for this over the X2, it features a USB port so that you do not lose one by plugging the pad into your laptop. - Laptop runs noticeably better. What I dislike - Without proper clearance underneath, it does not feel as if the fan works as well. Do not use on things such as blankets. - Connector cord. While I liked the length of the connector cord when I first got it, it turned out that the cord itself would be a problem. Since buying the X3, the cord has broken and I've already had it replaced. That may just be mine, but it was a definite negative reflection on the quality of the product. - Price is a little higher than I would have liked to pay at $38, and I think that is high priced for the product I received. If you can find it for $33 or lower, I would consider it, though. Overall, I am happy with my decision to go with the X3. While it's not exactly silent, I almost never notice the noise while using it, and it does exactly what I bought it to do.

The fan came quickly from Best Buy, but it sounds like and old fan chugging along. If a Bestbuy want so far away I would return it. Very disapointing.

i would NOT recommend this product to anyone. it is pretty much useless.

I've owned the Notepal X2 and now the Notepal X3 for comparison. The Notepal X3 is a lot thicker, but much more sturdy. The fan on it is noticeably bigger and thus, keeps my laptop noticeably cooler. My laptop would often get hot, but when the fan is turned on, it does not burn me when I touch it. What you are paying for when you purchase the Notepal X3 is a bigger fan, making your laptop cooler. The X2 uses a USB to USB cord, but the X3 uses a special pin to USB. My biggest concern would be the size of the thing. It is definitely not as big as I would have imagined. I could not find very many accurate photos on the internet, but it fits my 14.5" laptop very well. The X2 is noticeably thinner though. However, you get a huge fan with the X3. It's a tradeoff. I would not let size deter you if you are looking to buy the X3.

This cooling pad is great because it has the USB port to connect easily and portability too.It is noisy if you set the fan too high.I love the LED light up for night gaming it is a nice touch up.

tldr; Great cooling pad, quiet, sometimes stops working but will work again within a couple of hours or a day. I recently got this cooling pad for my laptop. The temperature gets up to seventy degrees Celsius, while I play video games. Due to the temperature, my sound stops working. Since I've had this cooling pad, I can definitely tell a difference in my laptop's temperature. It is surprisingly quiet as well. There has been times where it has completely stopped working, though. The next day it'll be fine and work again.

ABOUT THE COOLING PAD.. I got this for my laptop cuz it needed some help when i was gameing, it works perfectly and there has been no problem with it at all, its nice to have on my lap to donst hurt my legs to have it on them, keeps my laptop cool and doesnt burn my legs, i had a few other cooling pads but this is by far the strongest one there is for $40 TO PEOPLE THAT DOESNT THINK ITS GOOD OR DOESNT WORK.. if it dosnt work take it back and get a new one its pointless to wright a message on here saying its a bad product when it can be just a bad one that got made, doesnt mean there all bad.

Living in Arizona, laptops tend to be hotter than I imagine elsewhere...even if used on a glass desk. I have gone through a lot of chill mats, and everyone is hummy and annoying. This one is nice and quiet! I wish I had bought two when it was "Deal of the Day".

I got this with the deal of the day for $20 because of the other reviews. This product is amazing. I bought it hoping it would cool down my laptop a little but it does more. I played Borderlands 2 on my laptop yesterday for a good 2-3 hours straight. Normally, my laptop would be about to melt down, but with the fan underneath, it was barely even warm. I would recommend this product to anyone that games on their pc or if their internal fan is broke.
