bought one of these for a new core i7 build and have been very pleased with it. this is corsair's professional series and carries a 7 year warranty. it has a very powerful single-rail design, and all the cables you could ever need. the modular cables are flat and hide fairly well. no problems yet, and not expecting any. all in all, probably the best power supply you can buy!

EXCELLENT build quality, TOP notch components, you simply can't do better than Corsair PSU's, and this one is a beast! The Voltages do not vary, at all, this thing is right on the money 24x7. It's Modular, which helps eliminate cables you don't need and increase airflow in your case. You can do worse than this one, but you will not do better. I bought this a week ago from Best Buy online for my new build, I have been using only Corsair in my builds for the past few years, they are reliable and just work, pure and simple.

Power supply is flawless in every aspect. It is silent even though it is powering a heavily overclocked i7-930 and 2 470GTX cards in SLI at 700/1400/1800. Perform some research and you'll find this at the top in ratings at all reputable professional review sites. It is capable of putting out 1000W and still remain in spec. Efficiency mostly meets Gold with a few exceptions hence the Silver rating from Corsair. For those whom are curious this is a CWT build like the TX line, but uses a newer/upgraded design. Really don't see the need for anything higher (1000w) unless you are running quad SLI/Crossfire. Lastly, this is significantly better than the GS line. Spend the extra 40 bucks over the gamer 800w as the 2 really don't compare

First note that this device is Modular!! which means you can switch out almost all the connections and the ones you dont need or use, simply dont plug it into the PSU (power supply unit).
This bad boy gives 850W of power and its enough to run my i7-930, 12GB ram, and x2 470GTX graphics cards and still has plenty of power for all my fans (x5 fans) and my HDDs and CD drives.
If you deside to use a 3rd graphics card THEN you might have a power issue. But other then that this thing has NO problems at all and it even comes in a nice velvet case with a nice carry bag for all the cords.

I used this PSU for my new x58 build. I only needed to plug in the molex ribbon cable and attach the molex to sata Y that came with it. The CPU cord barely made it mounted on the bottom in a HAF-932 case and roughted behind the motherboard. It is overkill for me right now, but i plan on adding an additional graphics card in a year.
With technology always moving so fast there are always a few things that arent going to change to much. So going with a 7 year warranty quality PSU that allow options means one less part to buy later.
If by chance I wanted to run 3 way or 4 way sli and needed another PSU from this series i would be stuck with a CPU and motherboard cords floating around my case as they are not modular. But I would rather pay more for this PSU then one of the few that offer all modular cables.

Being able to use just the plugs that you need for your system is very nice. I don't have anything that should stress the power supply, and have had no issues. My old supply was extremely noisy compared to this one. It can be difficult to tell if the machine is actually on when you're not looking at the screen.
